My friends and I had such a great time throwing axes here during their open house event. The instructors were very helpful and super nice so even if you were awful at axe throwing, they still made sure you had fun. They teach you different ways to throw the axes so if you have trouble one way, you're sure to do better another way. Or at the very least, you'll have a hearty laugh at yourself for failing. The venue is really close to tons of bars and restaurants so you can walk to them before or after throwing axes. This is definitely a great bonding activity to do with friends and family. read more

Went for my friend's birthday and we all had a blast! Way more fun than we anticipated! We had a party of about 10 people and all took turns with trying out different axe throws that our instructor taught us. Casual atmosphere and a small space, but they are able to accommodate three axe throwing areas for separate parties. It was quite a workout and we learned a lot about axe throwing. My friend's bachelorette party was held here and it was awesome. Going in, I was worried it was going to be either boring or physically impossible (I've got zero upper body strength) but I was wrong on both counts! It turns out, axe throwing is a crazy amount of fun and almost anybody can succeed with the help of Bad Axe's excellent coaches. They let us bring food in and pick our own playlist. They also broke us into teams and gave us several challenges -- it made two hours of axe throwing fly by, and it got pretty competitive amongst us! Definitely the best bachelorette party I've ever been to, and we all agree we're going back soon. read more

Total rip off - would not refund a $91 dollar deposit - wanted to go to a place where we could have a beer and some pizza - website looks like that - nothing on website indicates that you cannot do this but read the fine print in the confirmation email and it say you can order in food - had to call to find out we could not bring in any alcohol - just wanted to have a beer while throwing axes. That is fine but that was not what we were looking for so even though I made the reservation on Tuesday for Saturday and on Thursday realized the restrictions and asked to cancel - well they were happy to cancel my reservation but they refused to refund me and said they would give me a credit - well that does me no good as I am from Detroit and was in town for one evening. What a total rip off!!!! They got $91 dollars for me for doing nothing! We went to Batl Backyard instead and had a great time. So disappointed with this establishment. read more

This place was SPECTACULAR. $45 / person for 3 hours was a great value. I brought in a group of 12 and Every. Single. Person. enjoyed the experience. It's exhilarating when you finally land one and a huge adrenaline rush. May seem difficult at first but it's easy to pick up and you'll get over the learning curve quick. Everyone in my group landed an axe on the board, some more than others but everyone was able to do it. There were fun games and our instructor (Ike) was great. 3 hours was also an appropriate time frame. They also have a mini fridge so you can bring snacks as well as a bluetooth speaker to play music on. NOTE: Whatever you do, DO NOT PARK RIGHT OUTSIDE THE BUILDING. My friend parked there by accident, came in for 5 mins and their car was towed. The towing company was an @$$h013 about things. Park on Lake which is free. Asides from that, the night was spectacular. Bring an iPhone and go nuts with the Slo Mo function. All in all, a dope ass night. read more

I will never support this business again. I made a reservations on a Wednesday (4 days prior to my scheduled date to visit the establishment) for a party of 4. The next day I was informed two guests in my party tested positive for COVID-19 so I contacted the business to receive a refund for my booking because I no longer had a party size of 4 and would be responsible for paying for the additional people even if they didn't show up. I was told there was a 2 week cancellation window in order to receive a refund. This cancellation window would've been understandable had I booked the reservations two weeks out from my scheduled visit but I only booked 4 days in advance. I shared my concern with 2 customer service employees who said they would put in a request for a refund. My request was denied and I was told I could schedule for a later date. With all that's going on with Covid-19 and 2 of my guests testing positive I don't want to have my money tied up not knowing when things will resume to normal. I think it's very inconsiderate and unprofessional for a business to hold my money when all I wanted was a refund for an activity I did not and will not be participating in. read more

An all around amazing experience. We had a large group of 17 and we all were able to learn, play games, learn trick shots and have a great time. Our axe throwing guide Colin was the bomb, and was super easy going. Can't wait to do it again, would highly recommend!!!!! read more

Had a good time here recently, especially as compared to my earlier experience at Ragnarok, which sucks. This place is professionally run and the equipment is in good shape. I've actually been twice, once as part of an organized group (5 stars) and once in the public walk-in time (1.5 stars). The group experience was fantastic. The public walk-in time is a disorganized clusterf*** in which the more aggressive guests will get far more than their fair share of axe throws. read more

The website says open till 11pm, and we showed up and the door was locked. There was no clear signage and it was located in a back alley- so we didn't even know if we were at the correct place. You call to ask them if they are open and there is no way to get ahold of a real person. read more

Horrible customer service! Couldnt make the reservation, so I called to see what they could do to help me out. At first the company said no problem, we will refund half of the deposit to you and the second half of the deposit will be a credit for a future booking with them. I was so happy to hear that they were being so understanding. When I called back to confirm, they took the offer away and said that it was a miscommunication on their end! They said if I wanted to reschedule to a different date, I would have to pay an ADDITIONAL fee! Total waste of money and horrible customer service! read more

Went to Bad Axe for a bday party and had a great time. We were told no beer at the Chicago location but still had a great time. Smaller groups are better as only two people throw at a time. Basically darts with axes. Good location too with walking access to lots of bars/restaurants after. read more

This was awesome! We did this for a team building outing and it was perfect. I was impressed with the structure and organization - I thought we would just show up, learn how to throw and be left on our own. Our coach, Cody, was unreal - had individualized tips for each participant, played fun music, and had a great energy. We started with practice but then always had a new game/competition to move into. Took the guessing out of team building because they had it all planned out. We catered in from Kaiser Tiger which is just across the street and we all wore flannel to go with the theme (very fun!) If group of 20 people, but lots of people got to throw. We brought snacks and a cooler of water so it was nice that there was a little table set up. I attended a free event at Bad Axe Throwing on September 25th and it was incredible. I came at a good time as there was only a short wait and sign up was quick. The staff was welcoming and very accommodating, the atmosphere was very chill. My friend and I received instruction on axe holding and the throwing process and then we were free to practice. We stumbled upon this place walking by one day and went in to check it out. I am so glad we did! We got to throw an axe about 5-8 times each - what a blast! I was a little nervous, but this was so much fun! We got some great slow motion videos on our phone of us throwing axes, which is pretty sweet!
