YUM! What a great experience we had Friday night at an event where Badas Burgers was serving the most delicious burgers! Purchased 2 classic burgers and a kids cheese burger from the Badas food truck. The burgers were great. It was at the end of the evening, so the server told us that he was throwing in fries (which we had not ordered.). We thought that was very generous. We were one of the last customers for the night so we assumed they just wanted to get rid of the fries anyway. The total price was about $38. When I received my credit card statement I saw that I had been charged $47! I disputed it with the credit card company and got a refund of $9. I don't know whether they actually charged the $9 to Badas or not. Anyway, 5 stars for the burgers, 0 stars for trying to pull a fast one with the credit card charge. read more

Yall. Top 3 on my list of favorite burger spots in SD. I love me a burger and a fried chicken sandwich and they have BOTH! (In addition to bacon chorizo fries and buffalo fries). They're a food truck vs a brick and mortar spot but they do a great job of creating a sit down and enjoy a meal vibe with what they got! You can always count on fast, friendly service and great music. But most importantly, EVERY single burger and sandwich they make hits the spot!!! I mean every single item on this menu is absolutely fantastic. I crave they're chicken sammich weekly. When they were solely based out of Santee I was going there every couple of weeks...it was an issue. But luckily they're daily deals made things a hell of a lot more affordable haha. I'm so delighted with the quality and consistency of this place. I will always support them. Hopefully they can continue to create a good following and have a static location in addition to a mobile service. Went to the Fever Drone show last night. Two food trucks were no shows, so the lines to the three that were there had insane lines. The two guys in the truck were getting their asses handed to them (you guys were the only actual dinner option) and I wanted to give them a shout out for kicking ass. We tried to use Badas for a high school graduation event several years ago but were unable to work it out. Then covid hit and we didn't have events like that. Last year we were able to finally book them for our event. It was easy. They showed up and made burgers for about 80 students and faculty. The burgers are huge. So be prepared. The vegetarian option is a portobello burger which done people lived, but some had aversions to mushrooms. We heard that Badas burgers was back and decided to try them after having a subpar experience before they closed.... That experience was a wild one to say the least. Glad to see they're not draining their oil into trash cans anymore. Knowing the county's department of health regulations as a business owner myself, it was concerning to see they weren't abiding by certain rules. Glad to see things have changed as I said. We bought 2 el chingons and a classic last night for our family. After about 15-20min, we got our order and headed home just down the way. The fries were ultra crunchy but lacked flavor. The burgers were subpar again and lacked flavor. They tasted previously frozen and just very devoid of taste. They definitely pulled those out of their fridge/freezer and tossed them on the grill without a dash of anything. I would've taken a dash of sweat in all honesty. To make things absolutely worst.. the whole point of this review.... All 3 of us are experiencing less than desirable stomach and digestive issues if you know what I'm saying. Badas won't be on our rotation again in the future. This was ultra disappointing. We drove out to Santee, not knowing what to expect, but this spot, in scorching weather, bringing to mind the fire-y flames emblazoned on the truck was tip notch! There was shade, around back, soda options in a cooler, and a menu packed with flavor, a full range of options, and all the makings of a fiesta in your mouth! I had their bestselling, double Patty, spicy burger option and boy was it a treat! The flavors were bold, like the glorious bull painted by the flames on the truck, and packed full of flavor with caramelized onions and the perfect helping of melted cheese. The Buffalo chicken fries were downright decadent with a light sour-cream dressing, chives, and crispy, flavorful chicken tenders. Really the best burger I've had in a long time!! Went here quite a few times as they were conveniently located for me at the time. Tried quite a few different things. I highly recommend to either call in or order online. If you order in person it will take 45 minutes. They work on each order individually from start to finish. They will not take a new order until they have finished their backlog. Half of the wait was waiting in line to order and the other half was waiting for the food. Blue cheese burger - very messy, most of the blue cheese was outside of the burger, not sure if it was only placed on one side? The patty itself was dry and overcooked. Sat like a rock in my stomach after finishing. FYI you can save $2 by asking for just one patty instead of 2 (the standard). Chicken sandwich - unfortunately it was over cooked on multiple occasions. Bun on burgers was nice, wasn't too much and didn't overpower the burger. Fries - standard crispy crinkle cut fries. Buffalo fries - I would pass on these. It was soggy even eating them 5 minutes after getting them. Chicken pieces were also overcooked. Ranch and the buffalo sauce seemed at odds with each other/didn't quite strike the right balance. Ended up throwing these away. Hot burger - it was okay, jalapeños could have been cut a bit smaller. Burger patty was really small and overcooked. Bacon chorizo - these were really good. Skip their burgers and just get this! I will have to say after these a few times it's fairly inconsistent. There was one time I got it and it just tasted like pure flames. It burned my lips and mouth and I could barely eat it Side salad was fine, when they remembered to give you salad dressing...there were times they forgot. Make sure to check your receipt. Also make sure to ask for one! Half the time they didn't give one. They were charging full price for their specials and also didn't discount the burgers when asking for one less patty. read more

My husband and I came here on a Friday evening to grab some burgers because the burgers just looks so damn delicious. It's definitely an interesting setup with the food truck but that didn't stop them from making some really good burgers. My husband ordered the blue cheese burger and I ordered the chorizo and bacon fries. My friend said that Badass Burgers was parked over by the original Mary's Donut location in Santee. I had an opportunity to actually stop and grab something before they closed for the evening. The gal asked if was my first visit and she recommended their chicken sandwich. Sounded good. She mentioned leaving the box open as she handed over the to-go bag so the fries wouldn't get soggy. Bonus points for crispy fries with easy access while driving. The kiddos also approved. Tasty sandwich. Marinaded chicken, fresh veggies, and a soft brioche bun. Bacon too? Win! I got a generous serving of iceberg. Felt like a side of wedge salad. In my sandwich. I need more greens in my diet, so that worked out. When we got home I still had a decent amount of fries after the drive while snacking. Check out the chipotle aioli if you get a chance. It has a mellow kick, without an overwhelming spicy finish. Goes great with the sandwich and something to dip the fries. I'm glad she put an extra cup in the bag. I do like a food truck that makes a good burger, this one sure makes a very good burger. Now I know why they are called "Badas Burgers." My friend and I picked up The All American which is an extreme version of the All American because it comes with two huge custom made beef patties, bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese, pickles, and their badas sauce which was very tasty. The burger was temped at medium as I requested. They form their own patties and do not use frozen beef. The beef was flavorful and juicy. I liked that they seared the beef well to develop better flavor and to add good texture. The rest of the burger's ingredients were great. The bacon was of good quality and gave the All American that extra kick of flavor. I loved the pickles and fresh tomatoes and onion slices. They are always a good way to balance off all that beef. The sauce was terrific and the bun was just right. The bun is locally baked. I liked a good food truck. Tip for the employees: make sure everyone knows the difference between medium, medium rare, well done, etc..because the young lady taking orders, although friendly, was not familiar with those terms. read more

I hate to do it, because I had such amazing food before, but just got two burgers delivered, both ordered medium, both some of the driest hunks of meat I've ever had in my life. Like eating sawdust dry. Even worse though, is the sorry excuse for French fries we got. I added two orders of fries so the kids would have munchies. At $6 per order, it's not exactly cheap, but figured the kids would be happy. Instead, we got 53 (I counted) soggy, sad, lifeless fries. Almost 25 cents a fry for some barely warm nonsense, that probably came from the local freezer section. I've legit had frozen store brand fries that tasted better. It's just a shame, because this place used to put out epic food. Big, juicy burgers, full of amazing flavors. Hot, fresh fries. And most importantly, quality and serving sizes that actually match the price paid. I may give them another try again if I happen on the food truck in the future, but just can't see myself ordering from them again, given such a poor turnout this time around. read more

We wanted to try this food truck since my BF lives nearby. Simple menu of burgers (beef, chicken, veggie), fries, and quinoa salad. BF had the Bourbon Bacon Jam Burger and I had the Garlic Mushroom Burger. Both burgers were huge and came with a choice of fries (crinkle cut or sweet potato). Mine was filled with 2 medium well burger patties, iceberg lettuce, tomato, pickles, bacon, sautéed onions and mushrooms, garlic aoli, inside a fluffy brioche bun. I think all the fixings is what gave the burger it's size but i felt mine was lacking in flavor. The patties themselves were kinda bland and needed seasoning, like salt and pepper. And where was the garlic flavor? Being a garlic mushroom burger, I was expecting the garlic flavor to hit me in the face, but instead left me disappointed in the lack of flavor. I ordered the Garlic Mushroom burger and added cheddar, as it doesn't come with cheese, and sweet potato fries. The burger was huge and I could not fit it in my mouth to bite it! I was on my way to In-and-Out but saw the food truck and thought I'd give them a shot. They have a pretty diverse menu with lots of burger options. I tried the Hot as Fork Burger with well done sweet potato fries. When I got home I opened up the box and realized I didn't get the sweet potato fries, but lightly seasoned crinkle-cut fries. It was a big burger but when I took a bite into it I realized instead of a single large patty there were two smaller patties. Not a huge deal, but for the price ($15) I expected a fresh hand-made patty, not what appeared to be generic frozen patties. All-in-all not too bad, but I was disappointed due to the mixup in fries and the meat patty. read more

First of all let me say that these burgers are badas!! I have seen plenty of reviews on Instagram about these burgers and I still have more to try but this burger had me at bourbon. Lol This weekend I was working on call, so I am mobile but I may get a call at any given time to provide tech support for our clients. It was relatively quiet so I went to get a burger from Badas. About two minutes before getting home my phone rings and I know that it's a work call, so I had to take the call and wait before o could dig in to this burger. This bourbon bacon jam burger was soo delicious. The bourbon bacon onion jam along with the chipotle aioli had a sweetness which I liked. The patties were cooked medium well. The burger was juicy. I was finally able to eat my burger and fries but I was not satisfied because it was not warm. After about an hour or two I had to get another bourbon bacon jam burger but this time I added bacon. Uum, GAME CHANGER! It was better the second time around. I will have to go back for the blue cheese burger, or the pork butt burger, or the chipotle chicken sandwich. My mom actually read a story about Badas Burgers and that was how we found out about it. I've had their food 3 times and I've always been impressed. After some light interrogation I discovered my parents have been nearly a DOZEN times already (they are huge fans)! I've had the basic burger, the bourbon bacon burger, and most recently I tried the Chipotle Chicken burger. I'm not sure what the chicken is marinated in but I'm pretty sure it is actually magical. The chicken was tender, beautifully seasoned and had just enough spice to wake up your nostrils without being painful. The accompanying toppings were the consistent high quality produce that they always use (I know having nice lettuce and tomatoes might seem minor but it speaks to the great care they take with their food). The chipotle sauce would probably make an old boot taste delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff is very nice and they now recognize my dad on sight. I decided after this last trip that I am just going to have to try one of everything on the menu so I can be sure I'm not missing out.
