On this first visit, I had two beef birria tacos and one beef quesa birria taco. Both types of tacos were delicious. The highlight was no doubt the beef birria on each tacos. It's flavor was beefy and well seasoned, not to mention was bathed in a red chile broth that packed great flavor. I really appreciated the fact that they did not over use the clove like many other places do. It was all about the beef flavor here. The tacos came with fresh chopped cilantro, red onions, and a side of spicy pickled onions with habaneros, sliced cucumbers, lime wedges, and a red and green hots sauces. Both hot sauces were very tasty and offered a medium heat. The brother and sister team are very cool. They mean for you to have a great meal, with friendly service of course. There's plenty of parking. They offer outside eating tables with shade.

I had the quesataco with birria which was packed with flavor, cooked perfectly, and completed very well by their red and green salsas. My only suggestion for improvement is the menu needs to list the prices (two quesatacos ended up being about $11). Would definitely return!

This Hawaiian food truck was hands down one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The food was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. You can really tell they take pride in what they do. If you're craving authentic Hawaiian food, this is the place to go. I can't recommend it enough and will definitely be coming back again and again. I immediately understood why so many people rave about this truck. The fish was perfectly fried, the toppings were fresh, and everything came together beautifully. Unfortunately, my second visit was the complete opposite experience. The fish was soft, stale-tasting, and lacked the crispy texture that made the tacos so memorable the first time. If someone had told me the tacos came from a different restaurant, I would have believed them. It felt like two completely different cooks were working the truck. Since fish and shrimp tacos appear to be their specialty, I really hope they can dial in the consistency. When they're on their game, the tacos are absolutely worth coming back for. I just wish every visit matched the quality of that first experience.

The fish quality was decent. It reminded me of swai or basa fish. That being said, I did believe the tacos needed more fish. The fish that was present was buried under a heap of shredded cabbage. The fish has a mild flavor. The sauces that came on the taco were good. I liked the hot sauce the chalupa offered. The tacos came double wrapped in good quality corn tortillas. This particular truck is parked at Murphy's Warehouse on Johnson Ave. in El Cajon. They offer tented outside seating for shade. They also offer fried fish tacos and burritos, not to mention a variety of ceviches. The ladies running the truck were nice.

The service was surprisingly fast, especially considering it was during the lunch hour. The portions were huge--we had so much food that we ended up taking quite a bit home. The beef was seasoned really well and was honestly one of the best kabobs I've had. And the garlic sauce! It was even presented beautifully on the plate with a little design. I joked that I wished I had brought a rubber scraper so I could get every last bit of that delicious sauce. I'll definitely be back. My husband ended up eating my leftovers and said it was the best Mediterranean food he's had. He doesn't give compliments like that very often, so that definitely says something!
