We've ordered a few times and the food is amazing! However, the prices are very expensive unfortunately and we recently just had a bad experience with customer service. After spending almost $8 on a side of carne asada for my daughter, they put the extra meat into a burrito without me asking for some reason? When I called to say they forgot the side of meat, they asked me to bring back the burrito to remake it correctly and give me the side of carne asada. I had already cut the burrito in half and they still wanted it back, lol. I understand their reasoning but for it not being the customers fault, it was very disappointing to hear that. Let me explain: -I parked at this strip mall to adjust my phone settings -I was 5 minutes away from home -I had plans to whip up an Italian dinner As I was peeling off the parking lot, the glow of Sayulitas signage enticed me like a Vegas boxing match. I re-parked my car and entered the 'arena' and committed to stay for one bout. The woman behind the register had the calm of someone who's seen every kind of hunger. "What's the Filipino favorite on the menu?" I asked. She didn't blink. "Pac Man Burrito." Just two nights ago, I was cheering the Pacquiao-led team on Netflix's Physical: Asia. Tonight, I find myself face to face with a champion $21.99 burrito aptly named after him, or at least his nickname. It arrived cleaved in half on a plate. Probably so that it won't look as intimidating, but both halves looked like a pair of white boxing gloves! Que horror! I had to manhandle the thing and squeeze it like a cheap date just to get my mouth around it. First real bite and bam...Tocino! That sweet, cured pork punching straight through the Mexican chorus line. I was maybe an eighth of the way in when the 'referee' behind the register asked "How's the burrito?" "I'm struggling" I said, salsa dripping on my chin. "This thing's got stamina." She nodded like she'd heard it before, and by the time I came back from the salsa vault with pico de gallo and Chile de Arbol refills, a to-go box was already waiting on the table like an exit strategy. Tortilla chips sat in small paper bags under a heat lamp. Every bite was warm, crisp and crunchy. I love their stainless steel salsa vault. No dusty air, no door-breeze contamination. Smart. The trash bin was stainless steel too with no leftover remnants or soda syrup splatter. Places that care about chips and salsa care about everything. I've been here a few times, tried their breakfast burrito as well as their tocino burrito. Overall it's a solid location for filipino fusion burritos - all their burritos are HUGE and can definitely last 2 meals. Their salsas are also veryyyy spicy which I wish they weren't. I think the least spicy salsa they have is either the pico de gallo or the chipotle, both of which are still decently spicy. They give you a few salsa cups for the salsa bar, but if you're eating in they also have salsa squeeze bottles in the fridge that you're free to use. As for their burritos I always get them cut in half to share them with my fiance. I enjoyed their breakfast burrito but I wish they put hashbrowns in them. Their tocino burrito is also good, but I somehow always end up getting the half that has way too much sour cream. We're not a fan of fries in burritos so we got it on the side and preferred it that way much more. The sausage is really good and flavorful, but the burrito as a whole is just too rich for me. This is however my fiance's favorite burrito spot. read more

Grabbed a Sayulitas Burrito on my way home. The burrito was pretty good, but could definitely do without the lettuce inside. The lettuce was very soggy. The shrimp was cooked nicely and their salsa are delicious. My only complaint is, I asked for the tortilla to be charged, and it was barely cooked. Came in yesterday for lunch and ordered a California burrito. I modified it slightly and they prepared it perfectly. I have never been here before, but my buddy whom I was with suggested we share because their burritos are HUGE. He was 100 percent correct. We asked the friendly cashier if they could cut it in half and she said not a problem at all. We both ordered a bottle of Mexican Coke and I was pleased they had the big bottles. Some taco shops are now ordering the smaller bottles but price gouging for the bigger ones. We ordered our food to dine in and they even put each half on its own plate and brought us our own silverware. Dug into my burrito and let me tell you, it was the best CALI burrito I've had in a long time. The meat was flavored well, fries were crispy, cheese was melted, and the guac actually had amazing flavor and wasn't bland like some places around San Diego. Tried a few of their different hot sauces and all of them were delicious. They offer indoor and outdoor seating so there's plenty to choose from. Wooooow! A coworker told me about this place and after watching the Instagram videos, I knew it was too much food for me. Sooooo...... When my son and his best friend who can de-bone a horse if properly smoked and had bbq sauce were available, we headed straight here. The counter server, my God she was amazing, quickly noticed that the muscle black guy with dreads down his back, my son, the tall skinny white guy, his best friend, and the drop dead gorgeous 59 year old black daddy bear in the cowboy hat, me, had never been there before. But in all seriousness, my son's best friend is skinny. So she pointed out the specialty menu on the wall. And what a menu it was. We were in no rush so we let all the other patrons who came after us go before as we savored the menu. Not surveyed. Savored. Everything looked so good. Except the hot Cheeto burrito. Whaaaat? I guess the kids would like it. Now if it were a Doritos burrito, uuummmm. They had a $35 burrito which I had seen in the videos. That thing must have been massive. But we wanted to try multiple items because even the normal $18 burritos are massive. We settled on the food pictured here. Bacon Wrapped Carne Asada Burrito. OMG so good! Tocino Fries. Unbelievably delicious. Lumpia Burrito. Now I didn't try this one. However the boys put a hurting on it. With sodas the bill was just under $65. Now that seems like a lot. However I'd do it again! Soooo good. And the portions! Lots of leftovers. Now normal carne fries won't last as leftovers. But with an air fryer, those Tocino fries will do very well. This place gets my 5 star Yum. Yum. The food is a bit pricey but after receiving your food you see why!! The food is MASSIVE! They had 2 sizes for the tots and I got the medium! I couldn't imagine if I had gotten the large. This Surf & Turf burrito isn't life changing, it's just okay. I've come to realize that people in East County have a very low bar for "good Mexican food". PROS *They don't skimp on the meat *Exceptionally huge, so I asked them to cut it in half because it's definitely two burritos worth of food. *Ordered takeout but the small dining area with a few tables seemed clean and well kept. CONS *Burrito lacks flavor. Nothing really stands out because it's drowned in creamy avocado sauce and sour cream. *Burrito alone costed $18.08 (including tax) which is fine if you're splitting it with someone but it's ridiculous that one item costs that much. *Cashier lady had NO customer skills whatsoever, left me standing there not saying anything to me for an awkward amount of time. *I found it annoying that their menu doesn't say what comes inside each burrito. This place is know for its GIANT burritos with CRAZY ingredients. If you come here for a regular bean and cheese, you're missing out on their culinary creativity! I've tried hot cheetos, spam, lumpia, and other amazing ingredients. most recently I had the Texas burrito and its a mix between a Chile Relleno and a Pollo Asada burrito! I had to come here and update my review. If you want Sayulitas as you have to go to the SANTEE location. All the other locations salsas just are not the same. The workers are amazing. If they recognize you, they will treat you like a regular, unlike a lot of other restaurants that will see you regularly and treat you like a stranger every time. The food quality at this location is definitely the best. I've tried the Chula Vista, national city, and san marcos location. Santee is THE BEST. Couple that with the outside seating during a cool sunset. I love this places it's like crack. ( not saying i've ever done crack) lol read more

Only thing I have ordered from here is the (Med) Volcano Tots. They are HUGE and delicious! My kids and I share it and it's enough for all of us to get full off of with extra. Oh, how do you explain Sayulitas to someone who has never been? Well, home of the big A$$ burritos and ginormous fries! Honestly, I've visited a few of the other locations and Santee is my favorite. Not just because the food tastes better, but Sue Lee (not sure if I spelled her name right) provides the best customer service. This woman goes above and beyond remembering her customers, their orders and as much as she can. She genuinely appreciates everyone that comes in. Now the food....I love the Rosys Fries, it has carne asada, bacon, cheese, guac, sour cream, chipotle sauce, and of course fries all topped on a flour tortilla. It's amazing! My son's favorites are the hot cheetos burrito and the hot cheetos fries, which I admit I totally love. Often he and I share the medium size and still don't finish them. The breakfast burritos are also fantastic as well as bolt fries, rolled tacos and of course the Lumpiaquesa Burrito. That thing is out of this world huge and tasty. The fusion of some items with tocino and spam is unique and wonderful. I love that they have daily specials that are the same daily as well as alternating daily specials they posted on Instagram, so be sure to follow. It's been 24 hours since I had these amazingly delicious fries and I'm still full! My husband and I show up to this place with no expectations except how good can these fries really be? Well, Mouth watering good. The portion? Portion is not normal. I don't know how to say I ordered a medium but it would have fed me for an entire week. Now this is a place that I truly wish we had in Dallas or that I even got the opportunity to experience while growing up/living in California. The quality of the food was top notch (tasted very authentic and delicious), and don't get me started on the portion sizes. When I tell you this plate was enough to feed 2-4 people I exaggerate none . It was layered with plenty of meat. It was like they put the entire cow on the plate lol. I ordered via DoorDash , so I didn't actually get to interact with the staff or observe the surroundings/Ambiance, however everything that I ordered and the details to how I wanted things done were executed perfectly. These ladies at the counter were amazing hosts! I wasn't able to catch her name, but she was very outgoing and hospitable, which makes a big impact on customer service. Place is small, clean and has several tables inside. There's a salsa bar, along with a bathroom incase you need to wash your hands or use the restroom.
