Purchased a 2320 John deere tractor in 2010. Best price around and that is where the good ends. The parts department is minuscule. They never seem to have parts in stock that should be there. I recently had my tractor serviced and was told that there would be a 10 day wait. I was told that they could put me on a list and they could pick up the tractor when it was my turn for service. This way I would not be without the tractor for more than a few days. Picked up on a Friday I called on Tuesday to check on progress. I was told it was almost done and they should call later in the day with a total. On thursday I called and asked the status of the tractor. I was told that they were in the Process of installing an air filter. The said that would call later in the day with a total. On friday I got ahold of an assistant manager who assured me he would get the unit back to me later in the day. Delivered on time at least but, the machine was damaged and covered in bird droppings. The damage was to the mower chute. it was broken and cracked halfway up. I washed the tractor before it went out and know every scratch on it. What a lousy place to do business with. If you seek crappy service you can get it cheaper elsewhere. read more

I have purchased a few items from them and have had a great experience. I believe the key person is the salesman you first encounter! Bill was that person. He has been friendly and does go the extra mile for me. That is the reason I purchased my Honda lawn mower from him this year! Can't tell you about service as nothing has gone wrong with my equipment purchased through Bill, but guys in service are courteous and friendly! read more

History

Established in 1988.

Bader & Sons Co. was established in the summer of 1988 by James E. Bader and his wife, Valma when they purchased the St. Louis Store. John Deere Farm equipment has been part of the Bader family for four generations. In March of 2000 Jim passed away from a fast growing cancer. Valma, his son Paul, and his son Mark took over the reins and continued to grow the business. Over the next 5 years they added 4 more stores under Bader & Sons Co. with locations in Portland, Grand Ledge, Mount Pleasant, and Linwood. In March of 2009 Bader & Sons Co. again decided to expand and acquired Hoyt E. Weylan in Tecumseh, MI. Currently Bader & Sons Co. employs over 150 people in central and lower Michigan. We offer parts, service, and sales of new and used farm and lawn and garden equipment. We can serve you with quality equipment, factory trained service technicians, and the largest parts department in the area.

Two weeks later they called and said they repaired the pump and some other issues and the price was now six thousand dollars which I negotiated back to a lower amount. Then later they called and said the pump was leaking again and I agreed to a new pump and sent payment per credit card. Then they sent to another repair shop and the hydraulic system seems to work now but the cost is now over seven thousand which I have paid part of it. The pump is not new even though I paid for a new one. Needless to say we don't agree on the final cost. I used the tractor about twelve hours and the steal high pressure line came loose from the pump spraying hydraulic fluid on the exhaust pipe causing a fire.

Since Williams did not file paperwork for the original Kubota equipment failure and I was not provided with any documentation of service. Williams turned me away for this subsequent failure, but not after charging $ me while my tractor sat outside on their lot. -- Williams Farm and Machinery provided service for a warranty claim request on my Kubota. However, instead of submitting paperwork for a claim with Kubota, they repaired the part on site.

I recently purchased a John Deere 2520 Compact Utility Tractor from Zac at the Grand Ledge MI Bader & Sons. Zac and I go way back - this tractor is my 3rd John Deere Mower (always going bigger) I've purchased from Zac. I've also purchased quite a bit of Stihl Power Equipment .
