By far, my two favorite were Joel Jones (who is gone), and Bill Monroe. Bill runs his business with true professional dedication. He has a good website and an effective online scheduling system. On top of that he is very responsive to email. He shows up on time (once when he thought he would be a little late he texted me about it and kept in touch; the delay was not large). His manners are impeccable, something I especially appreciate because I am uncomfortable with visitors. He would tune my pianos carefully, doing also unsolicited minor mechanical adjustments without additional charge, and even wiping the cabinet. I would get the impression that tuning a piano and keeping it in good working condition was an end it itself for him, whether I noticed or not.
