So, I can truly only speak of my own moving experience with…read moreOlympia Moving and Storage from this morning. Now keep in mind I have not unpacked as of yet. But I will definitely edit my review if I feel differently. Hence the 4 stars for right now :) But from a purely customer service stand point and what I saw over the course of my almost 4-hour move (due to how much stuff I personally owned). I am forever grateful for Omar, Dwane, and Tony! Omar, Dwane, and Tony- The three musketeers who made a move that I was dreading to do completely alone a breeze. I was informed at all times of what was going on, what time frame everything could happen in and they let me know they could start early this morning. I had slept at 3 am from packing and trashing and was exhausted, to say the least, all moves are difficult. Omar- informed me of everything and worked on making sure all my items were wrapped and securely delivered. Dwane- worked tirelessly without any hesitation to the amount of work that was there, Tony- Brought the jokes and equally stayed focused on the task ahead At no point did I feel I had made a mistake- primarily the opposite- I had never used movers and I thought to myself- 'How have I never used movers'!!! These guys were respectful, mindful, pleasant, had amazing work ethic and worked very efficiently. Thank you so much for everything and I will definitely use you all in the future and recommend the three of you personally. Sincerely, Ruchi :)

Let me start by saying if I could give zero stars here, I would…read more I contacted this company about a move, indicating that I was moving from a 2nd floor 1 bedroom with approximately 1700 lbs worth of stuff to a 1st floor apartment about half a mile away. They sent me an estimate for $402 that included 3 movers at $115/hr as well as a $57.50 truck rental. Because I didn't have that much stuff we estimated that, all told, it would take about 3 hours. Everything seemed fine, so I e-signed the estimate and arranged for a move window between 11am and 1pm. The first red flag was when they told me they didn't take credit cards--only cash or check. In 2019 that's a little suspect, and who even has a check book anymore, but they came recommended to me, so I pulled out $500 cash just incase the move went over a little. On the day of the move 4 guys arrived, and the leader informed me it was now a fee of $145/hr, plus a higher fee for the truck. Then he looked at my apartment and told me that all of my stuff would take 4-6 hrs to move. All told, on the spot he told me the move would be at least $800 and that if I don't have the cash to cover it, they would only move an estimated $500 worth of my stuff. It was the last day of the month and I had to be out, so I started panicking. I told him I didn't have $800 to spend on this move and that all of this wasn't in the agreement I e-signed. He told me I could always Chase pay him the difference. And that's when I knew this guy was trying to run a scam. I called his boss who kept telling me that 4 guys were better than 3 and it would take less time. He absolutely would not listen to me when kept saying this was not what we scoped for nor was it what I had signed on for. He assured me that the movers would move my things and we could work out the difference later if it went over. During the move out the lead guy lectured me on how much stuff I have and told me my TV table was cheap and I should buy a nicer one. And even though my landlord required all moving to be done out the back of the building, he didn't like how far the walk was, so he informed me he'd be using the front door. Two things: First of all, I don't have a lot of stuff. I'm not a minimalist, but I'm def not a hoarder either. It was a normal (and clean) 1 bedroom apartment. Second I like my TV table, but yeah, it was cheap because I like saving money. But that is beside the point. In the end, we didn't go over on cost, because like I said, I really didn't have that much stuff. The whole process took just over two hours. On the other hand, the movers didn't move all of my things. They refused to take my computer and some boxes that had my cleaning supplies in them. The guy said he might break the computer and didn't want to be responsible for it, and that the cleaning supplies were liquid and he didn't want to deal with them. I ended up having to make two additional Uber trips to get the remaining items to my new place. One last thing about this whole miserable experience--one of the movers took a massive shit in my new bathroom and the apartment smelled like it for about an hour after the fact, despite the opening of windows. I will not be using these people again.

I've used them before with ok results but this last move was horrible. They left probably 1/3 of…read moreour belongings at the old place and simply didnt move it, didnt ask where they should put furniture in the new place, and disassembled things improperly. As an example, they unscrewed my propane tank but didnt close it, so now I have an empty tank. Like seriously why would you do that? What makes me really angry though is that they tried to pretend like they were giving me a "deal" so they could get a good tip. I always tip well, even with horrible service. I'm a sucker like that but dont pretend like you did me a favor bro.

I used them for a move to New Jersey, and everything went great. So a year later I moved back to…read moreChicago and used them again. They were TERRIBLE. The drivers arrived the day after they were supposed to. They parked the truck directly on front of my front door, packed it up, then said before they could leave I had to sign a new invoice that was nearly double my estimate. When I questioned it i was told, things just add up. Of course it also included a $250 "long distance" move fee for them "having to park so far from the apartment". I took photos of their truck less than 5 feet from my door. And they told me they could waive the fee if I gave them $200 cash as a "tip". I refused and chose to deal with their offices instead. Despite having a witness with me and photos of the move the company said they didn't believe me and that my new charges were what I would have to pay to get my belongings. Rest assured there were damaged goods upon arrival, another issue the company could not have care less about.

Amended in order to update and add pics. This company was…read morerecommended by 2 friends, so I'm thinking that they probably do well when everything goes well...but everything doesn't always go well, and when it doesn't, it turns our this company and it's employees are incompetent when it comes to resolving errors or damage. I have belongings that are missing and broken, and now I can't get a call-back. They took a hammer to my antique bed frame (now broken in 2 places), and broke the frame on a large picture (that I can't fit in my car so in addition to repair cost, it's going to cost to get it transported). What an unscrupulous and unreliable company. I'm still unpacking so we'll see what else I come across - I'm guessing there's more broken items - but that obviously does not matter to these people. Such a dishonest company! Just adding on with some pictures - smashed china! These dishes were wrapped in paper, then bubble-wrap, then cardboard between. So much cushioning and protection - I wonder from what height they had to drop the box in order to get them to shatter like this! Keep your valuables away from this company; they talk a good game, but then never returns your calls when there is trouble!

I just moved from Beloit to upstate NY with Christofferson. I got estimates from several companies;…read moretheirs was the lowest price, and also I had the most pleasant interactions with them, so it was an easy call. I'm glad I went with them, they were helpful at every step of the process (especially Jeremy, with whom I had the most contact), they gave me some free used boxes, the crew that loaded me was friendly and very good at what they do. Loading and unloading both went VERY quick, and from what I can tell from unpacking so far, there was no damage to any item. The only downside was the delivery window they gave me was 2 weeks, which made planning more difficult. But, it was a long distance move to a very out-of-the-way location, so I could understand. They ended delivering in the middle of the delivery window, and after the first day of the window they gave me a specific date. This is my second cross-country move in two years, and I can say that my experience was Christofferson was quite good.
