Then, the next week, they delivered a roof that's still shedding nails to this day. No gutters, no pergola, and no attempt on their end to reschedule or coordinate delivery since. I have spent the intervening time trying to schedule appointments, usually with no response for weeks or months. I have been unable to reach anyone on their phones, and I have not heard from a project manager this calendar year. Look elsewhere, and never cut the full check before delivery. Wish I'd thought it through.

About a year after that we found exposed nails in there and decided to get independent roof inspection. Garret looked at it, and that was not just look. Roof inspection he did was much longer then inspection from original company and much more thorough and detailed. There not just nails exposed, but improper flashing sealing, missing valleys flashing, silicon improperly applied to the bottom on a valley, etc. Garret prepared comprehensive report, reviewed our contract with original company pointing what was done incorrectly and even advised how to proceed further as we still have warranty from original company. Also want to note that inspection and advice were given free of charge. Definitely if we had known about GK HOMES AND ROOFING earlier we would use it instead. I would recommend Garett Kates and GK HOMES AND ROOFING to everyone and feel confident they would be taken care of. There were several inspection issues that needed to be addressed. Joe himself answered the company phone number, he came right out with a couple of guys to give us an estimate, and he fit us into his schedule right away. He doesn't use salesmen; he looks at your project and gives you the estimate himself. His quote was very reasonable. He replaced over 100 feet of rotten fascia wood and all the gutters on my son's house. He painted the new wood, added more downspouts, installed new gutters and even painted the downspouts to match the blue siding of the house. I don't even know how he matched the color! In addition to the gutters, he created a new chimney cap that went OVER the siding up the chimney, instead of under, which prevents water from seeping behind the siding and causing rot. He also painted all the thru-roof flashings. We couldn't have been more impressed with the end result. In short, Joe is a good man who does really good work. Capco has an A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau, they have been in business for 42 years as of 2025, and they do so much more than roofs and gutters.
