To start off my experience at bag o crab was up and down. I was there last night and the server was fantastic. She was on top of drinks and continued to check on our experience. She continued to update us on our late food letting us know the kitchen was a little backed up. Her name is jisela and I would 10/10 recommend her service. Now to the bad the food took a very long time and the batch of rice was undercooked. This was my first experience at this restaurant so far. I had a pickup order and decided to get sauce on the side. When I paid and they told me to wait 5-10 minutes for SAUCE. It wasn't as busy and it wasn't until I asked to check in for my order after 10 minutes that I was told to wait another 5 minutes. A few more minutes go by and I'm told that they'll check in on the order themselves. At the point it's 15 minutes for an order of sauce on the side. Maybe something went wrong in their system but waiting a total of 20+ minutes for a cup of sauce is crazy. read more

I wanted shellfish so my husband and I did a date night and went to Bag o' Crab for dinner. Upon entering, the first thing you see is a counter with a few booths and absolutely no smiling faces. Instead of smiling servers, you get muffled voices behind paper masks. We got to a table and the server gave us menus then placed or drink order along with an order of garlic fries as an appetizer. Drinks arrived - unsweetened tea and sweet tea. They're nothing to write home about. The sweet tea doesn't taste fresh, has an almost processed taste, so I think it may be Brisk or something like that from a fountain. Sorry but a place that claims to offer Cajun food should offer FRESH made Louisiana style sweet tea, that's just the fact of the matter! I ordered the head-off shrimp and mussels with corn and no heat garlic butter and a side of garlic noodles. My husband ordered the king crab with sausage and corn and he wanted his sauce spicy. The server proceeded to tell this long story about the sauces and no she can't bring samples to taste; they'd be $3 each in a fairly tall cup; she then talked him into getting his medium, saying she could take it back to try to get it made hotter if need be, but they're having problems with the kitchen and one guy has been waiting 45 minutes for his meal...and on...and on...and on...you get the point. Five minutes later, we had our entrees. But wait! Where are our garlic fries?!? Oh! Sorry, we're having problems with the kitchen but they shouldn't be much longer! ‍ Another star gone. The mussels were awesome. The shrimp was good - after I got past the infernal shell and legs and to the actual meat! The corn was abysmal - no flavor and tiny kernels, plus $0.95 for not quite half a cob?!? SMH. The garlic butter sauce was really but had more spice than it should have. I think they might have started adding some cayenne before realizing no heat. My husband said the king crab wasn't worth the $53 it cost. It was difficult to get out of the shell because the shell ended up very weird and didn't want to crack for him. He had to fight with the scissors to extract the meat. The sausage he had, though, was great, he said. My garlic noodles were really good and I added some of my shrimp to them, along with some garlic butter from my bag and that took them up another notch. I couldn't eat half of them and brought them home, with a bunch of the garlic butter scooped up with a mussel shell into the to ho container, they made a nice side for my entree of ranch chicken the next night. The one thing that was bizarre, out of place, and TOTALLY UNWELCOME was this stupid robot. It apparently brings the food from the kitchen. The server takes the food off the robot but why on earth does it exist in the first place?!? Why can't the servers get the food from a window in the kitchen and bring it to us themselves?!? The robot play LOUD obnoxious music that contrasts the ambient music in the restaurant annoyingly. Will we return? ... I don't know. I really enjoyed the mussels (after cleaning them...), shrimp, and noodles. The rest of our experience was just subpar, especially for the cost of the meal. The décor is uninspired, servers simply do the bare minimum their job requires, apparently the kitchen doesn't even do the minimum! We might try another location to see if they are similar to this one, but unless something changes at thus one, we'll probably pass. read more

Food is 10/10 and ambiance 8 out of ten the beer needs to be chilled a little more. The complaint I have is that the service sucks there's only 18-26 year old people working there all they do is talk gather up in a group and not acknowledge their customers I literally had to ask for someone to help me. Third time going to this restaurant & our experience has been the same each time. There's a lady in the front (I believe she's a manager/supervisor, wears a waist trainer) her attitude needs to improve, especially if she's a manager. She's rude & tends to ignore customers. She needs customers service skills, seems to believe she owns the place. A "you're welcome" when someone says "thank you" is always a requirement, especially if she's providing a service. The three times we've gone we've had different waitress' and the three have been careless and never checked in! We had to ask different gentlemen walking by (they were cleaning tables) for soda refills or for food items that we were missing. Food is pretty good though. Garlic noodles are my favorite! Unfortunately, if their service doesn't improve we will stop going to this restaurant. We were on our way back home from southern CA and searched for a seafood restaurant. This popped up on google and we decided to give it a try. Got seated pretty quickly for a Friday night during peak time. The Dungeness crab bag was pretty good and are glad we tried the Atomic sauce which is a combination of all the sauces. They use cute robot musical carts to deliver the food to your station. Service was good. Even though it's getting so expensive to get good seafood these days it was worth it for us. Great location and great parking area. Service is ok. Their seafood boil flavors are great but we noticed they clean out the whole crab, they take it apart from body and clean out the shell, the delicacy of the whole Dungeoness crabs presentation and all its other delicacy meat and juice is gone. Food is ok. Service is very slow. Poor management. Waited 25 mins to be seated when there were plenty of empty tables. That just shows how understaffed they were. May be they misjudged Tuesday evening. No water is served for 39 mins after the orders were taken. They have a capacity of 242 people in the restaurant, and the server was taking order in notepad and puncing in the POS, wondering why not using a tablet or handheld to take orders. No one seemed rushed in the restaurant. The host and servers were just chatting and laughing at the host station while there were so many patrons waiting. Ambiance is ok, nothing fancy. Over priced frozen food we ask for fresh they don't have any. Over price sodas $2.50 absolutely no flavor on the food . The only thing that's good is just french fries. If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would. This was by far the WORST service I've received anywhere in a long time. We had to wait an hour, (no problem, we waited.) after an hour of waiting we were seated. We were immediately given a basket of silverware that had a giant hair in it. We then ordered. The side salad had hair on the plate, and in the salad. My noodles which I specifically ordered to come as a SIDE to my small bag (only of shrimp) they came out first and were cold and remained cold until my food came. I complained to the manager and he said well it's an appetizer and not a side. And I told him that's not true, it's listed as a side and was ordered as a side. My friends ordered rice as a side and it didn't come out early, it came out with their bag. When they brought out of scissors and crackers there was ANOTHER LARGE BLACK HAIR and we immediately called the manger over. He looked at us and said well they're clean when they bring them out but I guess I could get you new ones. (WHATTTT???! You guessed) Our server was horrible, hardly checked on us. Didn't offered us refills of our drinks until we asked, and then took over 20 minutes to bring said refill. I had to literally wave my hands in the air for attention to which the manager made eye contact with our table multiple times but continued to ignore us. The server finally came over and I said we were waiting for our refills and he said sorry he was checking on other tables. (So does our table not matter??) the entire experience was horrible. This is such a fun restaurant! Be prepared to get messy, put your hair up in a pony tail! I was wearing my food! My husband and I shared a combo #2, perfect amount of food. Fun environment, fun to eat and the staff are super friendly. Very clean, only exception was the seat had crumbs on it, oh well. All other boiling crab places don't open until 3. The place was pretty quite, and clean. We ordered a lb of shrimp- head on, king crab legs and a lobster tail. We went for the standard Cajun, medium. It was good. Not too spicy we're your nose is dripping. I definitely didn't eat the lobster. I've never seen a black lobster before. I asked our server if it was safe to eat. She took it to the back to confirm with the chefs, and they said yes. Well, per Google it told me not to eat it. So I didn't. She kind of gave us a hard time when I told her it was unsafe to eat and just didn't look right. Nonetheless she took it off the bill for us. Overall it was a good experience. There's a weird robot that runs the food. No little fork and no silverware, only plastic, it's an absolute must to have silverware and the tiny fork for the crab meat. Flavor we chose was atomic which is a combination of all flavors, it was delicious! Service was great, the mussels were fresh Súper good and big in size! The shrimp we chose was "head off" soo good as well and also big in size! Oh yea can't forget my perfectly done white rice! I'm having a really hard time with this review because I actually did like the flavor however the food is extremely greasy!!!! The seasoning is great and zesty but the excessive amount of grease makes it truly unpleasant. My family and I ordered a few things. Rice, sweet potato fries, gumbo and a bag of the combo 3. The servings were ok. We order mango picante and pineapple picante which I believed were mixed drinks but they turned out to be flavored chulada beer in a can!!! As far as the service goes we were served by a robot so..... and we saw very little of the person who took our order. I told the server it was my first time eating there and asked for suggestions but she had no suggestions. I did not enjoy being served by a robot at all.
