This place brings a great atmosphere and happy staff to a once sticky and tired steakhouse. We started with Cajun fries which were excellent and crispy. While not Five Guys Cajun they paired well with the seafood. The shrimp are smaller than competing Crab Bucket. With add ons you can add to your bag and it makes for a good meal. Showed up at 8:30 on Saturday and they said they meet there quota and we're no longer taking customers for the day even though there hours are till 9pm. Was told kinda rudely and won't be going back. So happy I didn't listen to the other reviews. This place is awesome for $55 including tax got a whole cluster of crab legs 1 pound of shrimp corn on the cob sausages, potatoes. The food is excellent somewhat similar to the boiling crab in southern California but in ways better I would definitely come back to this location. read more

Where to start. This place in the past three months has really gone down. The customer service continues to slowly decline. The servers hardly come to check if you need refills or need anything at all. They depend on the robots to let them know the food is at the table and then they give it to us. After that it will be a while till you see them again unless you wave them down. Tonight we walked in just like we do monthly with half our party there and the other half down the street. They refused to seat us until the whole party was there. Once I let them know they were there in the parking lot unloading their family still refused till they could see them. One from our party then left because he was already getting a bad vibe off the service being received. We still decided to stay and placed our entire order at the time she came to take our drink order. Our drinks came out and yet one water and one sprite came out with items floating in them. The waiter laughed it off and said oh it must be tajin and replaced them. We held up our two coupons and asked her if we could pay separate checks because either way we were paying separately since we are two different households. She said that was no problem and never mentioned we wouldn't both wouldn't be able to use our coupons even if paying separately. After eating we went to pay and encountered a host who was extremely rude denied our coupons for the two separate checks because we sat at the same table. We express it does not state this in any fine print and we were not made aware of this from the beginning. She still refused it and we paid. As we walked away she starting talking to the other host about us and so as we were leaving I approached the counter asked for a phone number for corporate. The same rude host went to get the manager but before bringing him back must of had some great things to say about us as they conversed back and forth staring at us and then came over. While they were doing that the other host let me know to just go to the website and find the information. The manager then came over and while giving us an email, the oh so rude host decided to glare at us over the other host shoulder as they began talking about us again. I called her out on it and she wanted to stand there continuing to glare at me like she was intimidating our party. I definitely let her know it wasn't intimidating and as we walked out she continued to glare us down from behind the counter. Customer Service: 0/10 Food Quality: 6/10 Management: 0/10 *no control over his staff and his attitude was horrible and entitled also* Overall: 4/10 *The robots did the service for them tonight. The worst customer service ever... the guy named Omar shooed us away when we complained why the group that came later than us, were seated first... and where do you find a restaurant that is supposed to be in operation, with customers eating, but the rest of the chairs are still up on the table? Everyone's too lazy to put them down and the blinds were still closed, making the place too gloomy..., when in fact, there was a beautiful sunshine outside? The management should take a closer look at this place... the customer service sucks... This guy Omar is very aggressive to the customers, especially to my family who only wants to enjoy a good lunch on a Sunday. He spoiled our day. He is a disgrace to this establishment. I have been to Boiling Crab but Bag O' Crab's sauces are diffirently delicious for me and my family. We would sometimes order to go. I would like to eat there with my friends someday. This place has so much potential, but the food does not match the ambiance! We visited on a Sunday, and it wasn't busy at all, great right ? Not!!!! We had a sweet waitress but she had to apologize about 20 times for the poor management of this restaurant. They sold out of beer and food delivery was slow. My shrimp was delivered fairly quickly and as soon as I saw the quarter size garlic pieces I knew this "boil" was going to be trash. Taste was no where near what a boil should taste like! All the spices were so Off. We finally got our rice, fries and bread about 20 minutes after the shrimp. Four of us dined in on a Friday at 2:15 p.m. for a late lunch. This place is huge with outdoor patio dining. This time was selected to avoid larger groups for safe dining. We ordered a medley of items: fried oysters in a basket with Cajun fries, fried shrimp in a basket, shrimp in Cajun spice and garlic noodles. We especially enjoyed the garlic noodles and the fried oysters! Those were definitely the top two items. Service was friendly and excellent, and they were very accommodating. I enjoyed watching sports on the many TVs. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and we'll definitely be back to try other items. read more

I love seafood! The shrimp and Dungeness crab are my go to every time. But wow!!! For a new restaurant i would think they are trying to establish a good customer base. The decor is cleans and simple and the robot waiter is the first in our area. The menu has many options and price points BUT the seafood in the bag was less what I expected. The menu offers degrees of heat spice - if you don't do spicy food well order one level down from what you would normally do. My family and I ordered mild which packed a lot of spicy sweating moments so order JUST A TOUCH! The paper plates, lack of proper utensils to eat seafood with, the limited bar (wine or beer) was a let down. The staff is young but friendly and still need to learn as time goes by. The food quality was good but the service here is just amateur. With 3 hostess's in the front, just lounging (one even sitting on the floor against the wall) they didn't bother to start taking names down for a waitlist during the start of the dinner rush when a multitude of customers started coming in. Not to mention they were using inappropriate language/ cursing in front of the customers, it didn't feel welcoming at all and just was extremely unprofessional. The timing of the food was great and I liked the quality (lobster roll was way smaller than expected but it was definitely hearty so I enjoyed that) -however it still goes back to the service! Our server gave us the check already when we were still in the middle of eating our food, it all just felt so rushed. Ending a seafood dinner, it's typical to wash your hands but I was absolutely disgusted with the bathroom. Two out of the three women's toilets were backed up, trash was all over the floor, and it was just awful. Take some of the girls in the front that are doing absolutely nothing and make them clean! Although it is a new spot with delicious food, the service of the staff still needs major improvement. Bag O Crab is a great restaurant chain, I don't want Salinas quality service to ruin that! This place isn't anything to write home to mom about, but the food was good. The robot that delivers your food has a loud radio that could be turned down, but I think the point is to make customers aware that your food might be on its way? The calamari was very good and the spicy dip that comes with it is delicious. I wasn't too impressed with the garlic butter version of our combo #3. It was a bit oily. Not sure there was butter in that mix. The sausage and shrimp were really good as well! The drinks are served in a can (I hate tap drinks!) so that was nice. We have been fans of Bag O'Crab since I discovered it a year ago and my family and I have always gotten our food fresh and it always tastes great. But today we had a very difficult time with our Grubhub order from Bag O'Crab and we have had troubles twice with our orders each time from Grubhub. My father had been looking forward to fried oysters and when my father and I were eating Dad noticed that his fried oysters were not cooked and tasted icky. And so when he discovered this Dad called Bag O'Crab and asked for the manager and what the manager told my father was that Bag O'Crab uses three fryers to fry the fried oysters and so my dad asked for a credit for our meal which we got. Also in addition to the fried oysters not being cooked my father's corn on the cob had a very odd taste to it and my mom's corn on the cob didn't have as much butter. I don't know what's happening with this Bag O' Crab location but this is the third time this has happened to us with each order from Grubhub and we do plan to eat more often from Bag O'Crab but they should improve how they cook their fried oysters a lot more read more
