If you're craving a bagel, Bagel Babe is a must! I love the location of Bagel Babe. It's quietly located in the Warehouse Arts District, specifically off the Pinellas Trail- which adds to the artsy vibe of the place. The concept was a little bit confusing to me at first (not shocking tbh), but after a couple of minutes, I understood. Bagel Babe is located inside of FoodieLabs which is sort of a 'test kitchen' concept. The restaurant is cooperated by about six different restaurants. You order on a kiosk and then get the food brought out to you by a staff member. I ordered a sausage, egg and cheese on a plain bagel and O M G- it was delicious. It was New York style- crunchy and salty on the outside and then warm, chewy and soft on the inside. The cheese:bread:sausage:egg ratio was impeccable- the flavor was there and it was satisfying. Was craving a bagel and saw this had 5 stars, it was a must try, I would say that there needs to be more signs outside or something. I had 0 clue it was inside the food labs place and was wondering around looking for it. Anyways... after finding it I decided on an everything bagel with cream cheese, unfortunately no drink which they had more options for drinks. The bagels were BOMBBB!!! You order from a kiosk, which is easy, and they bring your made-to-order bagel sandwich out within about 15 minutes. Seating is limited, so most orders are to-go. Found this establishment on Yelp and was excited to check it out because I was in search of a good breakfast sandwich. The location was not immediately clear due to other establishments being located in the same parking lot, but it is inside of foodie labs. The only way I was able to tell where the location was is based off of a sign outside. Once I got inside, I was surprised to see that to order you had to use a tablet. I guess this is a concept for efficiency and the new way of the world, but I found it inaccessible for someone that does not know how to use that. Further, the bagels are highly expensive from my perspective from $10-$15. Additionally, there are no plant-based or non-pork options for meat that I could see. No brainer that I had to secretly take my Husband here to cheer him up. He's from Jersey and whenever we visit we gotta come back w a bag of bagels. Can't really get the food stuff down here but I guess I can't say that anymore! Yes it's a bit of a drive from Wesley Chapel but we love downtown St Pete and this is right there on grand central and has plenty of parking to boot. Lots of artsy stuff going on in this complex that I will need to check out more but let's talk bagels. I'm a lox bagel girly and my husband goes pork roll. Every time. We did not deviate from that plan and we were super pleased. The service was friendly and fairly quick. Hubby got chatting with the young man working the front desk who shared stories from back home and the bagel process, the gals are doing it the real way with a 2 day process. The flavor and texture speak to this, you can't rush perfection. My husband was raving saying this was the best bagel he'd had in years. Yay, a win for the wife. We loved visiting on a very pleasant day, it's an open seating with tables outside and some limited seating inside as well as standing tables. I can see the space getting a lil swampy in the summer so hopefully the a/c can crank but you can always take those bad boys to go. While visiting my daughter in St. Pete I was craving a bagel. Now, I must tell you...I am a tad (ok very!) picky about my bagel! If it at all resembles a bun, it ain't a bagel! I instantly loved the vibe of this place. I ordered an everything bagel with egg/cheese. My daughter had a plain bagel with veg cream cheese. OMGosh, delicious!! I'm talking so good, 2/3 of my visit to SP was bagels at Bagel Babe! On my second visit I met Nick (the owner.) Talk about nice, this guy was it. He was going to introduce me to his daughter, who makes these freaking amazing bagels, but she was busy...making the amazing bagels. Stopped in after a swim meet at North Shore this morning. A great spot that's located in the Foodie Lab which is a shared space for a few concepts. Bagel Babe was exactly what my swimmers needed after a tough morning. We got 2 bagel sandwiches and 2 bagels with cream cheese. The Salty Babe was bacon, egg, cheese & scallion cream cheese on your choice of bagel. It was AMAZING according to my foodie daughter! Chewy bagel, perfectly cooked egg and gooey cheese. The Hot Babe was ham, egg, cheese & hot honey. My son got it on a salt bagel and thought it was delish! We also got a bagel with the Honey Sriracha Jalapeño cream cheese - a great sweet heat. The final bagel was with Maple Cinnamon cream cheese and was a perfect "dessert" bagel according to my teenagers who ate their sandwiches and then split that bagel. I think I found the top Bagel Shop in St. Petersburg. I believe this location is new as the reviews are low on Yelp and not many people were there. An interesting piece of this is that upon arrival, you order on a tablet and pay without seeing a server. Everything is brought out to you from the kitchen. The bagels were crispy and you could tell it was fresh bacon and eggs were cooked just before serving. They offered blueberry cream cheese which not many bagel places do offer. Overall, 4.85/5. First time for me to test their craft in bagel making! As an almost lifelong New Yorker, I've enjoyed many great bagel shops with fresh out of oven products over the decades. The Bagel Babe "storefront" was a little challenging to find at first, but well worth the minor effort. (A Nice bright sign on 22nd St. Would be welcome) I ordered a pair of Cinnamon Raisin, Everything, and Plain, and brought all 6 home to my wife although the fresh baked smell in the 30 min. car ride home to North Pinellas was very tempting. We had some fresh and some toasted, and were not disappointed. Best bagel we have had in the Tampa Bay Area since moving here 2 1/2 years ago.
