I have no clue how I've been living the past few years without eating these delicious, soft bagels. I have to make up for lost time now. I visited the south side bagel bar/chonk location by 99 street and 45 ave in the industrial area. Thankfully it was rainy today and I arrived at 11am with only a few people ahead of me. Small shop only about 3-5 people fit in while getting your bagels. I ordered three bagels and some cream cheese and some cinnamon butter, two really large chonky cookies and they were amazing. I highly recommend the dill bagel with the roasted jalapeños cream cheese and the rolo cookie... perhaps an Italian soda to wash it all down. Prices weren't bad either, $2.50 for a 2oz of cream cheese, easily able to use that on two bagels, fyi. My only "complaint" would be to double check the bag, no hate on the staff she was working solo and it was busy she just forgot one of my cookies and a cream cheese. That won't stop me from going back!!

Best bagels in yeg. Chewy. Flavourful. Delicious. Assorted flavours of sweet and savoury. This place is a hidden gem nobody really knows about. I'm surprised it hasnt blown up yet. I spent the summer in quebec and these bagels are better than Montreal's!!! Trust me I ate them everyday for 2 months... They are delicious and chewy. Theres are so many flavours. I stuck with the basic flavours for my first go and i was so impressed. The blueberry lemon was flavourful with just a hint of sweetness. It still was pretty savoury. The sea salt was great to make pizza bagels or bacon and egg bagels. They were very versatile and held together well despite all the toppings I put on them. Located in derose meat on 99st. They sell them fresh or day olds as well. They also have 10 assorted cream cheeses. I loved the vanilla one. But the asiago garlic was killer too. I would get both if u wanted a variety. They are a bit hard to cut if they are not made the day of (who buys just one bagel for just one day??? But i found they were revived in my toaster oven just for a few minutes to their former glory. Glad I found this place! It will be my go to place for bagels from now on! The word is out...

BEST place in Edmonton for bagels. The bagels are chewy and delicious. They make their own cream cheese flavours all are good especially the jalapeño cream cheese, adds a nice little kick if you like spice. Also try their chonks (cookies) they had one with sea salt (can't remember the name of the chonk), it was delicious. When my wife and I went they did not have a store front so we had to call in advance to order and we picked up from a commissary.

We recently discovered Bagel Bar and go nearly every weekend to pick up fresh bagels (freeze the leftovers for the week). Their bagels are unreal - their soft and chewy and toast up really well. Butter, cream cheese or as a sandwich.. you really can't go wrong. Our fave is the Rosemary Sea Salt (it should win some kind of award). The balsamic onion one they had a few weeks ago was also amazing. GO! But go early because they do sell out.

I've enjoyed Bagel Bar bagels a few times and they are damn good. I remember when they were almost impossible to get as the online ordering quickly sold old. They've clearly ramped up production and our now based out of Vienna Bakery, although I think it's still by pre-order only. You can order online until 5pm the day before (2pm Friday cutoff for Saturday). Curb side pick up was a breeze. They also have delivery options and other pickup locations. Check out their website for all the details and get yourself some bagels. My fave is Rosemary sea salt.

Waited a week to finally add the cinny crunch bagel to my cart, but boy was it worth it. Didn't even take the time to add cream cheese - the spiced dough and sweet top was perfect to eat as a snack on its own. The new mozza pizza bialy is also a great on the go treat, the middle is a flavourful bite of warm pizza. Could not put them down. I would definitely recommend checking out the Bagel Bar!

It is on the pricier side, however you don't need to prep or clean up afterwards and we leave stuffed. You can also order more veggies and fruit for no extra charge. It was busy this evening but our server did a decent job checking in on us and refilling our pops and waters. Food was great. I like how you can have a variety of choices for cheese, chocolate and broth. We went with the coq au vin broth and the mojo broth. We enjoyed the 4 cheeses (which is their best one in my opinion) and the truffle. For dessert we tried the bananas foster and the cookies and cream chocolate dream. Everything was excellent. It is lovely inside but it was really loud because it was so full. Good for a special occassion.

To me, the quality of the experience is dependant on the service, and it was good. At least 3 different people provided service to our table for various purposes. Fonduing is fun, and requires collaboration. The vegetables, meats, fruit and dessert for dipping were fine. Lots of beverages to choose from and a decent wine selection.

Dutch Delicious, if you can't tell by the name, is a Dutch bakery (with some European and German…read moreinfluence) that dabbles in a bit of everything: fresh bread, deli meats, cheeses, pastries, coffee and imported products. I've actually been into their shop once before but having just ate lunch, ended up just browsing. Well, I was surprised but happy to accept an invitation from DD for a peek inside their shop and bakery where all the magic happens. I met Siebe, owner of Dutch Delicious along with one of his bakers, Elien. Both are very friendly, humble, down to earth individuals that have a huge passion and joy for baking. One thing that Siebe kept on stressing was the fact that they use real butter, whipped cream and butter cream. You know a place means business when they use quality ingredients. Best quote of the night goes to Elien - "bad for the hips, good for the lips." One really cool thing I learned was baking cultures. There was a white one (containing 10% rye). Dutch add them into their breads to give it a more complex, nuanced flavour. The other one was rye and had been cultivating for about 8 months. It smelled absolutely amazing. I'd buy a bottle... We moved outside to the main counter where you can see some of their bread offerings. It was end of the day so only a few loafs remained. We sampled: - 5 grain bread. Light, airy, this is bread that you're normally acquainted with/used to. - Dark rye was a completely different beast. Much "heavier" and you really have to chew it. Goes well with cheese. Another great quote - "there's nothing like a good aged cheese with artisanal bread". Preach, sister, preach. - This one was my favourite: I believe it was the Canadian raisin bread. GET IT. Moving on to the pastries, there is a lot of options to choose from. They also have cakes if you're looking to satisfy that sweet tooth. What I took home from talking with Sieb - everything is made fresh, in-house with real ingredients. No shortcuts are taken. They make sure things are done the "right way" which results in everything being quite labour intensive. The saying's true - hand made always tastes better. Non-pastry related but I also got to sample (last one I swear) one of their sausage rolls. Nice and flaky, again, you can taste the butter. The meat even had a nice je ne sais quo that I couldn't quite pinpoint until Siebe told me the secret ingredient. Yum. At this point, the tour was wrapping up but I was gifted a nice little to go package of goodies. Such a kind gesture. I had soccer practice to attend but checked afterwards to see what was in the box. - Ouwe Jongens cheese. I'm by no means a cheese connoisseur but this is a old style, strong flavoured hard cheese. This will likely last me awhile. - Raisin bread. Bring me back to my childhood, except I wish I was eating Dutch's version instead of Sun-Maid's crappy raisin bread. - The rye bread comes whole. Make sure you have a hefty bread knife to cut this bad boy. Otherwise, you'll be getting a good arm workout. Where to start? If you like pastries, you'll be in heaven. What I liked best was how everything tasted fresh and creamy without being too rich/sweet. I felt like I could eat another pastry right after devouring the first one. - Cream pastry ($2.89) - the cream pastry was delightful. Light and airy, the filling was just divine. Don't make me choose but I think this was my favourite. - Apple slice ($2.69) - another winner was the apple slice. Reminded me of a turnover but sooo much smoother. The addition of raisins gave it the perfect balance of sweetness. - Vanilla slice ($2.69) - vanilla slice, my mom thought this was like a mille feuille. Incredibly light, creamy, this is one of their most popular for a reason. - Mocha cake square ($2.49) and marzipan cake square ($2.49) - seriously, sooooo goood. I preferred the mocha over the marizpan square. Can't wait to go back and try a slew of new things next time. Thanks again Dutch Delicious and crew for the treats, hospitality and insight!
