I have been here twice now and both were for TooGoodToGo orders. Both times I have had a chance to chat with the staff and buy something extra. The bagels have a great crust in them, and make for great bread in whatever use. They freeze well and taste great reheated. The empanadas are very good they are Dominican style and the Bindy was a steal at 4.99. They have coupons in store so use them. This bagel spot is not bad at all. Whenever I'm in the area I usually come here. It's always very busy, but they move pretty fast. It's way better then then Magic Bagels which is around the corner, magic Bagels don't have a grill and this place does. (Sometime we just want something hot in our Bagels). I never tried the different array of cream cheese but they do go fast pretty quick. I always order a whole wheat bagel with lite butter and crispy bacon, and the other half gets some type of Bagel depending on the day with 3 scramble eggs and cheese turkey bacon, mayo, pepper, and ketchup and he loves it. You can have your order to go or to stay and like I said the service is always good. If you don't see the bagel you looking for make sure you ask cause they have a lot more other option in the back. read more

First time here and had the everything bagel with scallion cream cheese. It was ok, though I didn't get a good "everything" taste in the bagel. The scallions were somewhat sparse. The establishment was small but availed seating for the patrons. Overall I'd go back but prefer a better, more authentic bagel shop. read more

First off let me say this... The bagels here are bigger and tastier than magic bagels across the street. The owner is very hands on and you can tell he cares about the quality of food he serves. Their french toast bagels would be PERFECT if they had a little sprinkle of powdered sugar. They have the BEST ice coffee because they use coffee ice cubes. That saved me this past summer. First time in Bagel Express since it was taken over by new owners. Everything was delicious!! We got a baker's dozen bagels - French Toast, Blueberry, Cinnamon Raisin, Sesame, Poppy, and Whole Wheat Everything. For spreads we got walnut cream cheese (delicious on the sweet bagels), lox cream cheese, and vegetable cream cheese. The bagels were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside and the spreads were all so fresh and good. This is definitely my new favorite place for bagels. read more

Pros: Bagels are hot when they open at 7am! Obviously a testament to their baking them right before opening. That's huge. Service is pretty good; they were somewhat patient with me when I added more and more stuff to my order. The place is small, but who eats bagels at the bagel shop? I certainly don't. They're much better than Magic Bagels across the street. These bagels are warm to hot. Magic bagels taste like yesterday's leftovers. Cons: They do not offer a baker's dozen (13), which is pretty lame and cheap of them. That's not why I gave them 3 stars, though. Although the bagels are hot (the Everything is SLAMMIN'!), and good, their butter ABSOLUTELY SUCKS! I've never tasted worse butter. It's like eating unsalted Crisco or straight Lard. It actually makes the bagel taste pretty bad. I don't know what they're thinking selling such bad butter. It's a good thing I bought the butter separately before it was lathed all over our other bagels. It went right into the trash. My 2 yr old, who loves bagels, said after a few bites, "I nu like it." The food was sloppy and not good. I ordered an everything bagel toasted with butter, cream cheese and jelly and bacon egg and cheese on a bagel. Firstly the service was horrible, the lady seemed as if she couldn't handle the volume that was coming in and she kept recycling her gloves; remind you there was a box of gloves in front of her that she did not touched the whole time I was there. She ended up touching the "rag", they use to wipe down surfaces, with the glove. It took me 20 minutes to be serviced and not one person said 'sorry for the wait or excuse the waiting time'. When I finally got to order the man said "talk to me, tell me what you want" and that was it. My husband goes in to pick up our order after I waited 20 minutes to place the order and asked what's taking so long and once received, it was sloppy, my bagel was smushed and all over the place and my husband's sandwich was oily, no salt and pepper and only half of it had bacon on it. I was upset to know that they only put up a Menorah for the holidays and the menorah stayed up way past the jewish holiday, not recognizing the community of Christians and others? Summary: Not friendly at all, RUDE, poor customer service, was not treated as a valued customer especially if they are trying to build their business, one slice of bacon in the sandwich, DO NOT RECOMMEND - WILL NOT RETURN Ad in paper stated Under New Friendly Management along with coupons. So when I see a coupon for a new place, I seize upon the opportunity to check it out and see if I like it. When I entered the shop there were 3 people behind the counter and not a single one greeted me or said "hello, how can I help you", or "be with you in one minute". I walked from end to end to make sure they could see me and they did and no one acknowledged me. One lady was already being helped, and there were no other customers waiting. After a few minutes when the man behind the counter came nearby I said "can someone take my order?", and he, in a rude way as though I was not important stated he was helping someone. So what about the other two people behind the counter? Why can't they take an order? Not friendly service and yet their sign on the glass display gives a directive to others that says "Smile". Well I came in with a friendly smile and because I was not greeted, waited on, acknowledged and made to wait about 7 min. this was not looking good. When he finally took my order I handed him the $2.99 coupon for 1 egg, bacon and cheese on a roll, with coffee. Mind you I was not upset or impatient at all. I was still friendly and stayed that way, which is my usual way. Roll was not toasted (I forgot to ask, and he didn't ask me either), and only received ONE SMALL SLICE of BACON. I was tempted to open the sandwich right there and check and I should have, but I didn't see it until I got back to my vehicle. I decided to just eat it and not to make a big deal about it. What really got me was lack of customer service from this new management. The server was not friendly in the least bit, because I looked "too easy going" he basically dismissed me as someone he could shove anything off onto. He was mistaken because I went back and let the counter people know this was not good business (he had left to make a delivery) and that every customer should be treated as if they paid full price irregardless of having a coupon. One slice of bacon was not going to cut it. The lady said they usually give 2, and I said that would have been fine, but I didn't get that. I let her know my purpose in coming was that I live down the block and wanted to see if this would be a place I would return to where in I would be spending on average $17, but that they had now lost my future business. read more
