I've been a patron for over 10 years and typically grab a hot tea a couple of mornings each week. The price has been $1.75 for years. I went in this past week and there was a sign on the door advising prices had increased due to inflation. I ordered my usual tea and the price was $3.50!! Inflation has been about 7 percent lately. The two workers that were putting together the sandwiches were incredibly slow, the shop was not busy but we waited almost 20 minutes for our sandwiches (several sandwiches we saw before us were wrong and had to be remade), and all the while they were talking crap about customers and orders (saying one was going to be the driest bagel ever, also talking about some sorority girls that came in before, and talking loudly about how terrible their tips have been). Decided to try this place on a whim and could not be happier with my experience. My partner got the B.E.A.T on Cheddar and I got the Bed Head on Spinach and Herb (completely vegan) and both were amazing! Service was quick, workers were kind and helpful for first time customers, and the food was delicious! I tried to go here for a late lunch at 3:30pm on a Tuesday (during their normal business hours) however, they were closed. There was no notification as to why they were closed, maybe it was a slow day, but i was disappointed. So i went again the following day and they were open! The service was very friendly and my food came out very fast which i appreciated as i was on my lunch break. The restaurant itself was clean with plenty of seating. I got the LOX Bagel (Cold Salmon) because i saw that it was recommended here on Yelp and the lady taking my order also recommended it. I don't know if the salmon wasn't fresh or if it was just bad quality but it was pretty terrible. It had a very fishy taste. I know i know, its fish, but this was not the smell or taste of good fish. I actually couldn't even finish it which doesn't happen to me often. Needless to say i was little grossed out after a few bites of bad salmon. I will go back and try something different. I do believe that they make good bagels but i might just steer clear of sensitive proteins like fish or eggs. Ill update my review if my next experience is better. read more

I had egg and bacon on the rye bagel. The bagel was perfect. The egg was cooked well. The bacon... well it was cooked well but super thin, like if you held it up, you may be able to see-through it. For the price, I think a thicker slice of bacon could be added. It reminded me of microwave bacon. I hope they don't use a microwave but it was less than stellar bacon. Good customer service. It's right downtown Eugene so if you're not on foot, parking can be precarious. There is a parking garage nearby, however I wouldn't specifically seek this place out unless I was already downtown. read more

This used to be a favorite place of mine. Until today. The food still deserves 4 stars but the service today makes me not want to go back ever again. We came in and ordered two sandwiches and hot drinks. While we were paying for our order the guy behind the counter mentions that they close in 5 minutes. Ok - we'll eat fast. We get our drinks and then a few minutes later, our food is given to us - in a to go bag. My husband says we didn't order it to go. The guy then says "We closed 5 minutes ago". My husband asked if we could just have 5 minutes to eat our sandwiches. The guy just says "I'm already late getting out of here." It is December in Oregon. Thankfully it wasn't raining as we had to walk down the block to find somewhere to sit down outside and eat. I have worked in the food industry. I understand how frustrating it is to have people come in just as you are closing. But to not say a word about it until after the order is placed and to not ever say anything about it HAVING to be to go is just poor customer service. It's 3pm on a Wednesday. Was craving a good bagel, so as per my boyfriend's suggestion, we swung by downtown Eugene in search of Bagel Sphere one late afternoon. Since it was a weekend day (probably Sunday), we scored free parking in the nearby parking structure. Bagel Sphere proved to be very comfortable, clean, and cozy, with a very relaxed atmosphere and music. There is a great selection of items on the menu, and many types of cream cheese to go along with them. In the end, I opted for the Strawberry bagel with regular cream cheese, and my boyfriend ordered the lox sandwich with an Asagio cheese bagel. They were delicious!
