I stopped in here this morning after getting blood drawn next door. I had been fasting so I was hungry and I'd been wanting to try this place for a while. It is so cute and lovely! It was super busy when I visited around 9:45am on a Monday, so you know they're good. I was greeted immediately and placed my order quickly. The girl working the register was super helpful and friendly. I wanted to try the seasonal banana bread cold brew, but I can't have caffeinated drinks so I asked if it could be made decaf. She said she can do it as a decaf latte instead and I agreed. It is SO good! It's sweet, but not overwhelmingly so. You can taste banana and cinnamon, perfectly balanced. I was worried the banana flavor would be fake tasting but it's not, it tastes like real bananas. I also got the Sasquatch sushi because I had to know what it was and it was amazing. It's a pbj with banana, in sushi form! It's such a cool idea and tasted fantastic. My partner was also super entertained by it and he loved it too. I got the Sunbreak breakfast sandwich and it was delicious. Everything I had here today was fantastic! I love this little cafe and will absolutely be back. We were looking for a good breakfast spot & decided to try Southpine based on the reviews, really glad we did! They definitely get busy but we lucked out & snagged the last table during peak breakfast rush. Everything on the menu looked great but I have a soft spot for fresh biscuits & decided to go for the jewel with avocado. I was running errands in this area of town, and stopped in to pick some sandwiches for my husband and I. As well as some chocolate chip cookies! Parking was a little competitive, so I was nervous that the wait was gonna be pretty long. But, it was quick to order and quick to get my food! And, the staff were really friendly. I got the Goat Herder Sandwich for my hubby- with goat cheese, arugula and more! And I ordered the Farm Stand for myself! It was perfect! And, hit the spot. I stole a bite of my hubby's sandwich and that was amazing! And, we both thought their chocolate chip cookies were the best we have had in Eugene. TL;DR amazing coffee shop, foods "garnishes" could have had more to it, seating is plentiful but feels crowded. You know it's a good coffee shop when I am nitpicking on seating. I really enjoyed my visit to this coffee shop/bakery. Some of the most unique and flavorful breakfast food but quantity left me wanting more. The Jewel, with a delicious peppered jelly, is an amazing breakfast sandwich. But for $9 for a breakfast sandwich, I feel like it could have added a second piece of bacon as opposed to the single strip down the middle. It felt like it needed more sustenance to it. Good coffee with lots of classic options and a couple specials There is plenty of seating, which almost is part of the issue. The shop Itself is fairly small and therefore feels a little packed. The biscuit and gravy tasted great, although they could've been a wee bit hotter temp wise. Bordered on being luke-warm, but the flavor and texture were tasty-though it had a touch of sweetness, which I'm not a fan of. The biscuit itself was great! Cold-brew decent! I drank it black and it was smooth and a lighter blend. I took a cinnamon roll to go, hot out of oven, and it definitely stole the show. The tables filled up fast, but the ambiance wasn't as homey as I prefer-kind of sterile inside. They had a ton of kids working in there with one older guy at the cash register. The owner? Not sure but it reminded me of a church camp kinda vibe. The younger guy who took over register right before I left was definitely friendlier. If you're craving a homemade cinnamon roll then you should definitely try theirs. read more

This is a really nice lil cafe in a part of town that is missing a place like this! We got both sweet and savory options, along with some coffee. Both of the pastries were great, but the biscuit open face sandwich was really unique and a fun breakfast option. One star off though, because everything (the food and the place itself) was COLD! The front door was open, making us not want to stay very long because we were chilly! And, similarly, I wish the pastries were warmed up. The soft boiled egg was cold too, which was a bit odd. I was fortunate enough to sample Southpine Bakery's food at an event they catered. It was so good I had to come by the bakery to get more. This is a very relaxed environment with seating inside and outside as well as soft overhead music. Staff is very pleasant and accommodating and everything is made fresh on site. They also make their own bread for the sandwiches. I make bread at home as well and would love to get my hands on that seeded bread recipe. I went with the Catamaran Sandwich on the fresh seeded bread which holds together very well. It was a roasted slice turkey with bacon on Swiss. There was a honey mustard that combined with the herb mayo to create an excellent blend of flavors with the Swiss cheese, bacon and lettuce. Then there was the Coop salad. The chicken salad comes on a bed of arugula, topped with cranberries and sliced almonds. The salad was incredibly flavorful with the addition of the herb mayo. It also came with enough seeded bread to make an optional sandwich out of it. We found both these dishes to be a very satisfying and delicious meal. So much so that I wanted another even though I was no longer hungry. .....but let's not forget those ginormous decadent and rich chocolate chip cookies! These things are huge. Crisp on the outside, soft on the inside and full of gooey chocolate chips. You can taste the freshness of the food and just to make sure, I got a resounding 'Yes' when I asked if all these items are made in house! I also appreciated the Caramel Latte! read more

Wow, this has got to be one of the best lunch values in town: "Two Scoops", which allows you to select your choice of two salads--potato, green, coleslaw, chicken, tuna or egg for $8. For two dollars more, you can add a couple slices of toast, which again has some options. I ordered the tuna salad, the egg salad, and the seeded toast. Everything was delicious and clearly made in house. In addition, the service is friendly and efficient, and the environment is pleasant. read more

The bread is all made in house- I had the seeded which was delightful, and my husband had the plain white and really enjoyed in. We had a cinnamon roll and that was good. Wow, was not disappointed when I visited for lunch this past month. My friend has been raving about their coffee cake and coffee, so I was glad to finally try it out. I got their day old strawberry muffin, coffee cake, iced chai latte, and a back country sandwich. If I hadn't known the pastries were a day old, I wouldnt have been able to tell. Each pastry was so flavorful and fresh. The strawberry muffin had such juicy strawberry chunks in it. I loved the chocolate swirl in the coffee cake and it's texture was perfect-not too crumbly but also moist. My sandwich was also super yummy. It was hard to choose between all the sandwiches, they all have amazing sounding ingredients. The sandwich came with some spicy pickled veggies.
