The downtown Eugene business area is modernized industrial buildings. Restaurants, cafes, and shops are everywhere but this looked like a fun choice for an after pick-me-up. They have indoor and outdoor seating, but it seemed mostly like a to-go spot. We each got various hot coffee drinks on a cold day. The staff was welcoming, mostly younger people. I loved the bonus free postcards they'll mail for you as a souvenir. Also, cheers to the bird theme!

Our favorite coffee spot when visiting downtown Eugene! Nestled in with a bunch of other interesting shops with lovely lighting, which is especially delightful at the holidays. The staff is so friendly, drinks are hot and delicious, and plenty of good swag. I had the veggie breakfast bowl on another visit and it was restaurant quality, I was so impressed. Love this place! p.s. the postcard station is such a fun idea - sent a card to a friend and excited for them to receive it!

The website calls it "a diner" but what it is is a bright and modern place to park it for a lovely cortado and a delicious apricot scone. Servers are patient, helpful and friendly, the WiFi is pretty solid and there's even breakfast stuff on the menu. Kombucha and smoothies too. A good pit stop in the vibrant Market Alley area of Eugene.

Cute coffee shop in 5th street market! Great tea and nice ambiance and seating. Friendly baristas. Food and drink menu. Would recommend!

I was looking for a cute, quiet coffeeshop where I could have lunch and hang out with my book. Magpie was perfect! Service was quick and friendly, food and drink were delicious! I had a chicken tarragon pie, slice of banana bread, and honey cinnamon iced latte, which they made dairy-free for me. I'd totally come back here!

It's been a long minute since I have been to Fifth Street Public Market and so this was a new one for me. It is a well lit open plan space that also manages to be comfy. I was hoping for a spinach and feta hand pie, but sadly they were all gone. Instead I got the avocado toast which was as tasty as it was pretty. My companion got the granola and yogurt with jam and loved it! My coffee was also pretty and tasty. We also took advantage of their little "post office" where you could send one of their postcards (which were lovely) to someone (they pick up the postage). We put it in the little mailbox, but I haven't heard yet that it arrived at it's destination. All in all, a sweet spot and would definitely come back to taste some of the other delectables!

Got to visit on a work trip while staying at a hotel across the street. Conveniently located, decently priced, not too sweet, and friendly employees. Can't ask for much more from a coffee shop. Baked goods smelled delish but didn't try any. Decent amount of areas to work.

Went on my cappuccino hunt in the morning and discovered this gem! They had me at the words Blackberry Cardamom latte. Bursting blackberry from the first sip. The breakfast bowl was hearty with 2 poached eggs on top. Enough to share. Plenty of pastries to choose from. Quiet, clean and friendly staff! Would return!

    Roasted veggie bowl without pesto

I ordered the roasted veggie breakfast without pesto due to food allergies, not a dislike. It was delicious. Even without the pesto, it was very flavorful. The roasted veggies had the flavor of a well seasoned pizza. The atmosphere is chic, and the staff are very friendly.

Order: Biscuit and Gravy & Blueberry Mocha 16oz Pros: so off rip, the biscuit and gravy was really really good. The gravy was plentiful and very flavorful. The gravy was the star of the show for sure. Also, the blueberry mocha was actually really good! I didnt know what to expect. Its not super sweet and not bitter. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The blueberry comes through but its not overpowering. Cons: n/a

    Latte with rhubarb pie

Eugene, Oregon We came here for our morning lattes. Everyone is so friendly and cheerful! Even in the morning! Our lattes however, looked great but lacked flavor, other than milk. We wanted them in a ceramic cup, not a paper cup. This resulted in a minuscule sized caffeinated beverage. After quickly sipping them down we retreated to another coffee shop. Great location, maybe need to use an espresso bean?' I dunno. The rhubarb pie was good but could have used more rhubarb punchlines.

When you pay $7.50 for Avocado toast and it says it comes with cheese, I would assume that it meant AT LEAST a table spoon of cheese. It also says it comes with salt and pepper, which I see, and tasted none of. Very disappointing breakfast :(

A nice walk through the market and stopped in for a great cup of coffee. The flavor recommendations were perfect and the service was great.

The latte was not great: too weak and not hot. The Americana we ordered was very very hot.

Ordered a matcha ($5) and half order of sandwich ($8) with ham, fresh mozzarella, arugula, and the secret ingredient: apricot jam. Picked up a banana bc it's just $.50, too. The berry scone was delicious and skillfully baked. What caught my attention was the display of eye-catching tarot cards on sale, along with pieces of Paulo Santo to clear. A selection of unique decks that have been curated by the owner. A 3-card reading is also just $8 by a very gifted and clairvoyant psychic and medium: she's experienced and incredibly clear. Highly recommend getting a read. Tables are filled but the atmosphere is quiet and comfortable to work; there is also a couched sitting area at the other end of the store. They have a wall to celebrate canine friends, too. A clear sense of welcoming and hospitality permeates. Glad for such a community centric corner cafe.

People are sitting on couches and some others are doing work. They have an assortment of coffee drinks and the barista was friendly. I love the decor, the rugs on the wall are great. Are they selling them? Not sure, but they were very luxurious and exotic feeling. My friend and I didn't have to wait in line and both ordered a tea to go - mine a mango black tea, and hers a rooibos tea. $4.75 each, and we added a $1 tip. Even though the teas were to go, we managed to snag an open couch in to the left of where orders are taken. For two people, it felt somewhat private and out of the way - perfect for us to chat. You order the drinks, and then go to the far end to wait for them to be made and presented. The wait was less than 5 minutes. The draw back to this visit was the temperature of the tea. Both my friend and I love piping hot drinks, and usually have poor experiences with drinks being lukewarm which is awful. However, this tea was scalding hot. We are both tea drinkers, and boiling water straight off the stove cools down faster than these teas did. It was a minimum of 10 minutes before we tried to take a sip, and I still burnt my tongue, they were still that hot. It just made it much less enjoyable to sit in the space, chatting, with scalding teas that were too hot to enjoy after a normal amount of time. Steeping time is 4 minutes, which is standard. Normally, at about 5-6 minutes you're ready to drink, even if you're blowing on it a little. This was a 10+ minute wait for the drinks to cool down, just to end up burning my tongue anyways. And I repeat, we are not shrinking violets - we like hot teas, there was something super wrong with the temperature of these. Overall, I would go back, but next time, I'm going to say something if the tea comes out that hot again. I'm hoping this was a fluke.
