    Pumpkin bar
    Allison P.

I went here with my friend for the first time today and it was amazing. I got a pumpkin bar and an iced mocha. The pumpkin bar was fantastic! The cream cheese frosting was not too sweet and the dusting on top was a perfect touch. The bread itself was moist and flavorful. The mocha was also delicious and well-made. The restaurant is clean and has a good amount of seating. They have a lot of options to choose from, along with packaged bread that is fresh-baked. I definitely want to come back many times in the future! The people working here are so friendly and clearly love their jobs. They are happy to chat with you about your day and explain anything on the menu. Parking is limited but you can usually get a spot. It's easy to get in and out of too. Definitely go here if you're looking for a delicious local bakery with flawless vibes!

Great Harvest has taken over the old Skopil's location near 26th & Willamette. They make some interesting breads, pastries, and other goodies. I went to pick up some hot cross buns for Easter and also ended up with some jams that they sell there too. They had some really adorable bunny-shaped bread but since they have honey in the recipe, it will have to wait for next year when my kiddo is over the magical age of one and can have honey. The rolls, though... yummy, I'm glad I'm a grown-up and honey is A-OK for me! They also have sandwiches and coffee, too. I picked up a couple sandwiches; a turkey pesto and reuben. Both were good. Service was good as well. There's parking in the lot, and tables both in and outside the shop.

I have not left a Yelp review in years, but I had to get back on to leave Great Harvest a review! Their cinnamon roll is the best cinnamon roll I have ever had, it is really so good! The worker also was so kind and offered us free samples (which were also delicious!). I will definitely be back :)

    16 oz Chai, $4.25

Great Harvest Bread is located across from Tsunami Books, with 2 small parking lots. Not knowing that Great Harvest Bread is a franchise, I was thrilled to see Great Harvest Bread come up on my Yelp search because I had tried Great Harvest Bread in Anchorage, Alaska last month (loved it so much that I ended up visiting that location twice during my trip). So after finding it on Yelp, immediately my husband and I made a stop here this morning, around 9:30 am. When we walked in, there was a line but we were greeted by a friendly employee behind the counter. We ended up purchasing: 16 oz Chai, $4.25- Ordered this drink hot for my husband. He thought the chai was okay (I didn't have any). Cinnamon Roll, $4- I overheard one of the employees telling one of the customers that she has some cinnamon rolls in the oven and that they will be ready in about 5 minutes. So I ended up ordering one for my husband (with a drizzle icing, as the employee had asked). She brought it out to us on a tray and it was nice and warm and just perfect. The size was pretty big and perfect for sharing. Cheddar and Chive Biscuit, $3.25- Cheese and chives is a great combination and decided to try this. It was nice that this was still warm when the employee gave it to me. I liked the flavor of the cheese and thought there was a nice spread out amount of chives in each bite. I really liked this biscuit and would order this again. Sample of Pumpkin Chocolate Chip- I love how generous Great Harvest Bread is with their samples. My husband I shared a large size sample and it was delicious. The pumpkin and chocolate chip had a nice complementary taste that wasn't too overly sweet. The slice of bread itself was nice and soft. ---------------------------------- (Total= $11.50) Service was friendly. But there was some wait for my husband's chai tea, as I think we were the last ones to get his drink to be made (although I know that there were a few people after us that ordered their drinks and they got it before us). Overall, had a great experience and would come back if I lived here.

Take your pick - it's all amazing.

Well what can you really say about this place. Great harvest bakes all its bread, pastries and cookies in house. It is one of the last few bakeries that exists in this terrible world. The sandwiches are always fresh and delicious. In Eugene Oregon ( a town of nuts) they still manage to find some of the kindest and most helpful people to work there. I always love the clean inside. I thought they opened like 6-12 months ago and was surprised when I saw they have been in this location since 2015. The building is well maintained and cleaned with pride. The worst part is that you need to go to Eugene if you want to enjoy this Gem!

Great Harvest Bread was amazing, catering our Lunch and Learn event at A athletic Surgical Arts! The worry with to go sandwiches is always "will they be soggy??" These were not! Great presentation, wonderful service and communication, and delicious options that included vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free! Thank you thank you!!!

If I had to choose between amazing, fresh baked goods or their customer service, I'm not sure I could choose. Hands down some of the best and consistent customer service in Eugene. The fresh made sandwiches at lunch are always a treat...and who doesn't love a fresh baked cookie. The samples are plentiful and usually cause me to buy more than I was planning. Today, I received a random free cake because they were experimenting...don't mind if I do.

Service was very good, but a little on the slow side. It wasn't bad, though, as the vibe of the restaurant is relaxed. We both ordered the Smoked Pork Chop (sweet potato purée, huckleberry jus, roasted brussel sprouts, pecans & bacon). It was cooked nicely and was enjoyable to eat. I would have preferred more of the huckleberry jus and more brussel sprouts, but can't complain about the quality of the food. In short, it was delicious, but could have been even better with just a few enhancements. Price was reasonable when compared to comparable restaurants in Salem and Portland. I'll return again for a different dish.

The 200-foot long covered "Market Alley" is sandwiched between the three-story Market Building (commercial and retail space), the Gordon Lofts Apartments (retail facing the Market Alley) and the Gordon Hotel at the opposite end of the Alley (across from the original 5th Street Public Market area). The Market Alley section was uncrowded while I visited with a friend, even though the original Market area was packed. We were on the lookout for certain Pendleton products, so it was a good excuse to checkout the area while there. As a plus, Heritage Distilling Co. was offering free tastings. I was already familiar with their Dual Barrel (Vanilla) Bourbon Whiskey...the night before experimenting with various whiskeys and liquors mixed with eggnog...yes, whiskey goes great with eggnog! We've been buying products from Matthew for years now, but he only just officially incorporated his business. He's a fully licensed hunter and mushroom gatherer/seller who spends most of his free time going out into the woods in the Eugene/Cascades area to gather and hunt his own wild foods. We reap the benefits of his hard work, at prices that are very comparable to what you would find at the store/market. (Did you know most of the mushrooms at the Farmer's Market are actually farmed, not gathered?) He does everything he can to keep his prices as low as possible. We bought some chanterelles today at $10.50 a pound, and he delivered them to our door. For comparison, I noticed they were $16 today at Market of Choice, and those are farmed, not harvested fresh from the woods around Eugene. he's coming back tomorrow with porcini! We've bought a wide variety of stuff from Matthew, but we especially love the chanterelles. If he has time, he delivers them to our door too, often on the same day he found them. Unless you're gathering chanterelles in your won backyard, it doesn't get more fresh or local than that. His selections are obviously limited to the season, and to what he was able to find/hunt, but he posts what he found on their Facebook page, so you can easily see what's freshly available. That's the easiest way to get in touch with him too (at least for us, since we don't like to call people on the phone) And Matthew's extremely meticulous about cleaning his products too, so you'll get perfect mushrooms ready to go straight into your pan!
