This is a favorite spot of my family that lives in Lincoln and we always stop by when we come to town to visit. I really enjoyed their breakfast burrito! The cheese in it adds a really great touch. It's very filling. The drip coffee is rich and flavorful. The dining area has plenty of choices and clean restrooms. The staff is cheerful every time we come in! Excellent bagel and coffee shop. Pleasant staff. Excellent food. Bright and clean. Well, here's my only problem, and it has nothing to do with the restaurant. The locals, mostly old folks and retirees treat the place like they own it. They come in and spend a couple bucks on a cup of black coffee and then they don't leave. They just sit and talk, taking up valuable space where a paying customer should be sitting. I was there today and the place was packed, nowhere to sit, because of people like this. Such a great spot for breakfast coffee and tea. I've tried several of their different coffees and lattes plus matcha tea options all of which have impressed me a lot. They have so many types of bagels from sweet to savory. Things are a tad pricey but that's typical these days. So just treat yourself and splurge a little! I love that it has a convenient location near a lot of other great places. This is my go to place in the morning especially on weekends and it's pretty popular! Been to this location before and the service was great even though they were having some supply chain issues. This time, the only supply chain issues were in the restaurant. We waited in a line out the door to order a very specific dozen bagels rather than the assorted dozen we could have ordered online in 1/4 the time. I confirmed the order and the count twice before heading to the register because the place was chaos and the person helping us was distracted and grumpy. When we got to our destination (in Omaha, so not like we could list swing back which is why I confirmed twice!), surprise, only 10 bagels and none of the chocolate chips for the kids. Not one! Based on the online menu price, I'm also pretty sure we were significantly overcharged but since she didn't give us our receipt, I couldn't say exactly what the error was. When I visit my grandson's in Lincoln, I get to stop in at this local bagel & coffee and enjoy their goodies. It smells wonderful when you walk in, and of course you are welcomed by the happy baristas. I love the caramel latte! Or, as it has been renamed Karma-Latte, because 10% of proceeds go towards local non-profits each quarter! (*at participating locations, in store/drive thru only, regular sizes.) Currently, 10% from the Lincoln locations will be going to the Lincoln TeamMates Mentoring Program! I have tried their bagels and also their little breakfast quiches and they are both awesome! If you like a cozy, homey, coffee shop; this is the place to come for you to come in, sit down and have a cup of coffee and a bagel with a friend. Daughter and I ate here very recently. She heard good things and so we wanted to give it a try. We went to the location on 84th St. in Lincoln. I got a Panini as well as the blueberry walnut salad and my daughter got a bagel with salmon and cream cheese. She said hers was good though she expected it to maybe be a little better. I enjoyed my Panini and I very much enjoyed the salad. As far as dining inside as we did, the temperature was very cold inside, so it was hard to be comfortable to be honest. We might give this place another try, but it might be for breakfast next time. read more

Food was very good, however cannot rely on them to have to go orders ready by the time promised. I've had two orders be prepared 15 minutes after promised (which is approximately 15 minutes after ordering) if you're someone looking to grab something quick on the way to work you may want to reconsider or simply don't order ahead the in store line seemed to move much quicker. read more

I truly did love this exact Bagels and Joe. I loved it especially because of the connections I built with the employees that worked there. I was treated like a person and friend rather than just another customer. I knew several baristas by name and had great relationships with them. Past tense. The manager at this establishments behavior not only affects the employees but I see it and even felt it. It pushed some employees to leave and the other employees were moved for being "too chatty" but that's what I enjoyed. It was never a matter of lines taking to long because people couldn't stop talking. It was only when it was slow that conversations were had. I loved being able to come here and have a quiet breakfast by myself in a space that didn't feel judgmental but with the behavioral issues of the manager and the poor treatment of employees I just don't see a way to continue supporting this business :( read more

The service was as to be expected in a small place filled with customers and a line up customer walk through and choose what you want (?). Very polite and patient employees I would say. look, their food is amazing, but picking up deliveries here is a total disaster most of the time. only one person does delivery orders, and half their orders are delivery. maybe they could figure out how to put a better system in place and handle this better, but they haven't in the two years I have delivered from here. this is for the old Cheney store. My GF lives close to this place so we have gone here a few times for a good coffee and/or breakfast. They have great bagels and breakfast sandwiches at reasonable prices. I've gotten their Chai Tea Latte and their smoothies and both are really good. Every time I visit my GF, I ask if we are going to come here. I'm hoping to be back soon! read more

Yesterday we stopped in to B&J on old cheyney and paid for "add-ons" that we did not get, nor did they add the egg on the egg sandwich. The teenagers working there seemed more concerned about quickly getting through the line than actually making the orders properly. They slapped together messy, saucy "sandwiches" for us and sent us on our way. Plus we noticed while standing in line the floor behind the counter was absolutely filthy and dirty. We were so disappointed, so we called to give them an opportunity to make it right. Instead they claimed they couldn't hear us on the phone and didn't offer to refund nor even an apology for our horrid experience. We won't be back ever again. I've stopped here a few times in the mornings when I have time for a cup of coffee and Lox and Bagel. The store is always semi-busy. 2 or 3 customers in line and a good number already at the tables. I've come for the Lox and bagel several times. I get the everything bagel for my sandwich. It's loaded with all the appropriate goodies. Cream cheese, capers and a thin slice of red onion. My friend almost always gets the blueberry bagel. It goes from a lot of blueberries to a whole bunch more. I stick with the basic coffee. Abet one of their flavors of the day. I find it hard to squeeze out the long dollar for a specialty coffees with a lot of sugar. Definitely a place to try out if you're in the area. read more

Bagels & Joe has really grown on me over my time in Lincoln. The first time I tried it I hated it so much that I would've given it a 1.3, but everyone has their off days and I'm here to be helpful first but also positive second, so I waited. The second time I tried it, there was a big improvement but I was overall unimpressed, we'll call it a 2.8. Since then, I've had enough good experiences and delicious food and drink to round it up to a solid 4.4 average! This place has good food. The lady that helped me was good. They wait was very long due to the fact that the four women working take an order each and then fulfill the order themselves before taking another order. It's quite inefficient. Then when we got our food, I didn't get the iced tea so I kept waiting. The lady that took my order had disappeared. When I asked someone else for help they told me they were helping someone else, and she kept avoiding me. Even after she rung up the woman she was helping, she just went to take another order. I was finally able to ask someone and get the cup of ice so I could fill the tea myself. It was quite rude. Don't go here if you don't have time to wait. read more

Bagels and joe has gone so far downhill, it used to be our go too breakfast place. Last Saturday i had my wife call in a to go order (would have used online but they have no option for paying with a gift card) . The order was put in at 9:01 we showed up at 9:30 to pick it up they quoted 10-15 minutes when we placed order. There was a long line when I got there since I had to pay with my gift card I had to wait. I got tired of waiting and tried to sneak over to the cash register to pay and leave I could see my order sitting behind the counter the whole time I was standing there. When I walked to the employee they told me I needed to go back to the end of the line absolutely ridiculous. I had an order placed before everyone in line, I left without my order and have a 200$ gift card that I won't be using. read more

Oh my what a surprise! Looking for a quick place for brunch where we could do pickup. When we got to this location they had just started offering dine in. Everything was arranged thoughtfully and we felt okay about dining in. The bagel breakfast sandwiches reminded me of a place we ate at in San Francisco last year...so yummy! We visited Bagels & Joe several times on our recent trip to Nebraska. It's a solid place to grab a bite and do a bit of quick work thanks to the free wifi. Service was always quick and friendly. The bagels are alright - I really would have liked a more rotating selection - they pretty much have the same ones every day, so having a special or something would have helped class up the experience. Same with the tea selection - they have several by the bag, but again, no rotating variety. I'll admit - I'm spoiled by my east coast coffee houses that serve loose leaf teas. More of an experience feedback than review. Generally came to Bagels and Joe every once in a while, not often enough to be a regular. Never thought of their food and coffee as anything to brag about and just plain mediocre. But this morning, my wife and I stood in a long line during a busy time. Ordered our food at the bagel presentation side of the counter they funnel customers to like usual. When we got to the counter, the workers just disappeared. The prior customers in front of us got amazing, attentive service. Two guys behind us got served on the other register and got everything they ordered for their workplace (big order without calling ahead). After about 6-7 minutes, our food came, with one of the sandwiches being burnt in a box. They apparently decided our order was to go, even though we had planned to stay to eat in. Also ordered a straight black hot coffee and a cold brew with a shot of expresso. Worker proceeded to explain to me that the cold brew would be difficult for her because espresso is hot when it's added to the ice. I said that's fine. She made it while we waiatrd. She then set it on the counter and said have a good day and walked to the back. I walked back to the counter and she eventually walked back up asking another customer if she can help them. i told her she has forgotten by other cup of straight coffee. Had to tell her what flavor and size....again. Worker that helped us was not very attentive, burnt a sandwich, and forgot 1 one of the drinks ordered (only ordered 2 drinks). This spells poor training and expectactions not being set to the frontline workers of finalizing orders until completion. As I looked around, I noticed my wife and I were the only non-white customers. I found it odd that we coincidentally had the only poor experience while customers both ahead and behind us got a totally experience. Wit's a name like Bagels and Joe, they messed up both the bagels and cup of joe with my order. Will not be coming back to this place. read more
