I have been missing some of the best pizza I ever had. I always had the burger or appetizer. I had one of my Meetup group dinners here and everyone wanted to come back. Some have drove past for years but a few bad reviews stopped them. I have eaten at different locations and this one for years. I was able to have a group of 15 there. While they don't really take reservations, they just ask for a heads up. Even with a group this large we got separate checks and our food out quickly since the server puts the orders in a computer as we gave them. Smart. With a private lot, the parking is a lot easier than many Berkeley places. I will be back for that BYO with extra sauce and pineapple and ham. I used to rave about Bagger Daves but this last experience with their staff was awful, young, and not customer attentive enough. A group of 7 of us went here to dine and watch the Lions game. Our waitress took 6 of our orders and left before she got the last person. She waited 10 minutes before she returned. When the food came out my friend who ordered after me did not get hers. When inquired it was never submitted. The waitress attended the other guest in our area and rarely checked on our table. The forgotten order came out after everyone was finish with their meals. When we asked to talk to a manager he never came to hear our concerns. After attempting to give her 40% off the meal they raised it to 50% because we ask to see the manager but obviously he/she never cared to hear about our experience. Trust me, we had more complaints. I ordered carryout online and I had a great experience. They send a text when your order is ready which is a great feature. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the staff who were all smiling. Online there wasn't an option to order milkshakes but I saw the machine when I came in. The employee quickly offered to make the milkshakes if I wanted to add them to my order. My 2 milkshakes were done in less than 6 minutes. I ordered a build your own burger and a BMO with chicken breast. Both were delicious, my only issue is the BMO had almost a whole onion on it. We were driving through Berkley and decided to check this place out. We are so glad we did. The food is really great. I had a cheeseburger and my husband had a chicken sandwich. My burger was juicy and cooked to the perfect medium rare I requested. The chicken sandwich was moist and delicious. The fries are really terrific as well. There is a full bar and a decedent selection of beers. I got a cider, though I cannot remember which one, but I know I enjoyed it. My husband got a stout that he really liked. Everyone who works here is very friendly. My one, small complaint is that the food took longer than I would have expected given that the place was not packed. Great option for a place to have a burger, nachos and even pizza now. Ordered carryout from here for dinner and everything was very good. Fries don't usually travel well for carryout but throw them in the air fryer and they're good as new. Even their shakes and floats are good. I like that you can order kid size online for carryouts. They also have kids meals. And if you eat inside, they have this cute train that travels around the ceiling. Timing is everything. We got here right before the dinner crowd. My hubby and I ordered custom burgers and they were excellent. I even gave the blood orange Moscow mule a try and was quite pleased with it. Yummy! Our waitress was very speedy and attentive and we will probably be back again. The only suggesting suggestion I have is that the veggie burger was mushy and fell apart when bitten. It was a black bean burger and they should maybe look at providing the Impossible burger or the Beyond Meat burger which have a better consistency when you're adding toppings to them. We ordered and were asked how we wanted our burgers cooked. "Medium rare" we said. What arrived a bit later were two solid, hard, with crunchy burnt edges thin burgers (clearly cooked too long on one side) it would be a real trick even to cook to a proper medium, let alone medium rare. I do recall having been to your restaurant in Berkley once before some years ago and it was very different. While not top of the line, there was a very interesting menu of burger toppings to choose from. The selection now is quite limited with most including either bacon or chipotle that I'd have to have removed. Mine was supposed to have onion rings on it--it had a few dry, batter-fried inedible onion skins instead, and chunks of cold, hard pieces of deep-fried un-chewable batter I had to remove. I'd asked the server what type of coleslaw yours is and she indicated it was your own dressing so I tried that. It was interestingly different, but way too creamy for me. Just preference, not a complaint. It is customary and welcoming when a server introduces him/herself. Our young lady server did not; I asked for her name. She did fine taking drink and then meal orders, but when she checked back and we told her what was wrong, her response was a blunt "Sorry to hear that" as she walked away! She may have offered to have the burgers re-made, but we didn't have time with a long drive ahead of us, and I was too taken aback at the reaction to our disappointment leaving us feeling as if she thought it is our fault we didn't like the burgers. She then ignored us the rest of the meal. My husband said he's never left $0 tip, but in this instance he felt he could not reward the poor quality and service. A comment on prices--your burgers right now are not as good as popular fast food places' burgers sold for one third the price your Berkley restaurant charges. I have visited Bagger Dave's on several occasions. Usually the service was slow & I would be on lunch so I switched to carry out. I would call in my order or fax my order (then call to confirm) and then pick up. Food is usually ready within 15 minutes. I like that you can customize your burger and that they have unique burgers "LEGENDS". The idea of a variety of dipping sauce is cool. However at 40 cents each, I stick with 1 or 2 for my fries. I have tried the regular fries with Cajun spice (they are stingy with the spice so if you like spicy then you have to ask for extra). I love the honey mustard dipping sauce and the new sweet adobe sauce (it is AMAZING if you like sweet with a bit of spice). They have changed the menu a little (added more items) since my last visit 6 months ago. However, the sloppy Dave's is pretty good. I recently tried the Train Wreck Burger and fries. I must say that they get points for the e club which provides users with a free burger on their birthday (Yes!) Which is the only reason I got the Train Wreck burger because it is $7.49 + tax (fries not included). It had so much on it that I need 2 hands and took 1 patty off. I like the concept of fries, cheese, grilled mushroom, onions, and railhouse sauce (aka house thousand island) on a toasted sesame seed bun. They also put a fried egg on it. Overall, it was a ok burger (reminds me of Five Guys with egg). However, I asked for it well done & it was not. The fries were in a bag (hence, Bagger Dave's) and I requested Cajun fries. Sadly my pick up ticket said Cajun, but when I got to my destination I found no spice what so ever:( That killed my fry fix. I did however like that they used sea salt. Next time I order I will have to open the bag. *Fries are better with dipping sauce. 2 counters would be enough for a single bag of fries. I like that they have a full bar for drinks & the train circling around is cool for kids. NOTE: If you are pro environmental then be prepared because everything is served paper or disposable. Horrible experience. We ordered food though them through doordash. When the food arrived the Fries were spilled in the bag. Ok, it happens. I ordered the buffalo salad without tomato's and blue cheese and to add avocado. They added guacamole instead. The whole salad was soggy and the lettuce all had brown tints to it. My husband got a bacon cheese burger. The lettuce was brown. The cheese was hard and burnt. Needless to say we didn't eat it .We asked for a refund and the manager on duty said that he wasn't refunding it bc it was fine before it left and told us to drive 25 min to Berkely to bring the food in... right, like I'm going to waste time and gas driving to there. They didn't care. Very poor food and we wouldn't eat here even if it were free! Bad food and customer service. We just threw our food away and we wont be back. No wonder why all the Bagger Dave's are going out of business. BTW I have worked as a server for 8 years and I have never seen a restaurant not take care of an issue. I hardly ever complain because I know what it's like to have food sent back and I know there are a lot of people just wanting free food but if you see the pictures this is not the case. I see a lot of bad reviews on this page. I feel bad for adding another one but people should be aware. My name is Arthur and I used to come to this establishment all the time, but have not been here in a couple years. I realized that so my wife and I went to the berkley location this evening, and I've got to say, what an incredible disappointment it was. What has happened? It seemed like it's a shell of what the food used to be. I understand covid has complicated many restaurants here and there, but the food I ordered today was disgusting! My burger tasted like something you'd find in a dumpster at big boy! It was burned when I asked for medium, the fries were cold, and even our drinks were stale. I would have said something to the manager, but they were not to be found, as our server seemed like it was their first day on the job. I used to rave about this place to people, but now I dont think I ever want to come back. The quality has taken a nosedive, and the fact that I paid over $50 plus tip for a meal that mcdonalds would scoff at.
