The Brussel sprouts were the only issue with this dish, not bad just nothing special. On the note of the Swedish Meatballs, very large, filling and flavorful. We had a great time trying out this brewery and restaurant out for the first time this past weekend! First off love the building this brewery is in! Nice high ceilings, cool lighting and interesting pictures on the wall. Hubs liked the beers and it was nice that they do beer flights to be able to sample. Food wise we had the brunch burger which was amazing! Beef patty, bratwurst, onion ring cheese sauce -oh my! It was soooo good! French fries were also yummy. Also tried the cheese spatzel which was so good! Absolutely delicious! The pretzel was not as crispy on the outside as most places so that was the only downside. Also had great service! I love Bagg's Square Brewing Company! This review is from a mid November dining experience. The food and beer were excellent. They have crafty beers too like you cider or pumpkin beer. I had their Oktoberfest, the German malt beer basically a lager. These always makes me feel full haha. My immediate reaction was "ouuu, mmm, really good!" I also ordered the schnitzel plate and finished that with my drinks. The plate was yummy. Nice job chef! The brewery has a beautiful interior in a classic brick building. The interior is modern and elegant. Let me tell you, this place is huge! There are two dining areas. First, is the bar along with another high table for dining. The second, is a huge dining space where you sit behind the bar and I may be wrong but I think there's an upstairs. There is also an outside patio for outdoor dining. The owner is so charming and lovely. We were chatting it up. Talking about work, travel and interests. She actually made a few gems in here. I had a spectacular time here and wish I ordered a different beer(s) but I was stoked when I tried the coffee gold and it was so yummy. :') Hospitality is great! What a great place. Love the location being from out of town. Downtown was quiet with plenty of parking on a Saturday Saturday afternoon. The ambiance is nice, and the barrel tender was fabulous. She was friendly and attentive and told us about Oktoberfest in September. Many choices and great selection. Personally loved there were two options of dry or sweet for seltzers. Fantastic brewery! We came in for lunch and a flight of beers and were very happy. It's a very cool place in Utica, NY. The decor is retro industrial. It has the feel of a loft style apartment, but as a restaurant. Exposed brick, tall ceilings, wide open. There is also a beer garden with seating as well, although the day we came was damp and a little chilly, while we sat outside to start, we moved inside when the weather gat a little raw. The food was excellent - my wife and I shared the schnitzel sliders and Bavarian pretzel - both were exceptional. I thought the beers were ok. I wouldn't say there anything that was really exceptional, but the flight we tried were all solid. Our server was extremely attentive, friendly and helpful. I found both myself and my family famished one weekday when we had come across Bagg's Brewery. Upon arrival, the workers were very welcoming. Accompanying their invitations, the entire set up was rustic and club-like making the whole experience very awesome. When we had received our food, we couldn't help but take from one another's plates to try everything and anything. The selection of German based foods is absolutely delicious. One of our party tracked him down to find out that he was no longer our waiter. The new waitress finally came over and seemed overwhelmed. It took several times for her to bring water and ordered drinks. Finally after placing our orders it was another 45 minutes for the food to arrive, then we had to ask for silverware and napkins. My husband and my hamburgers were burned and were as if we were chewing shoe leather, the fries were cold and the tomato cucumber salad was blah. The stairs are difficult to get into at the front of the building for people with knee difficulties. Horrible service, lousy meal. This restaurant is definitely crossed off of our list. Word of mouth goes along way, and I will never recommend this sub-par restaurant to anyone who asks. read more

I've been here a total of 4 times and every single time the service has been horrendous. Bartender will simply stare you down rather than asking if you'd like anything, glasses sit empty. Seems weird when I'm trying to pay you to drink. When you do receive service it seems to be rude and snobby. The beer itself is mediocre at best. I lived in Munich for a while as an ex pat and I find it to be hilarious that the owners husband took a trip there once and subsequently modeled a bar after what was likely a week vacation. It is not a German bar despite a couple of lame attempts such as a helles and a lukewarm pretzel on the menu. The food really sucks as well as I briefly alluded earlier. There are much better places than this, especially for the price point.. Each pint is 7-8 dollars with no refill price and a very small window of time for happy hour. Do yourself a favor and choose a better place around here. The beer reminds me of Utica club for 5 times the price it ought to be, the food tastes like it was made by a child. read more

We were a party of four arriving for dinner at about 6:15 Tuesday. We placed our orders, several of which included spaetzle, and were told they were out. It's featured in a lot of their offerings. We placed our orders, including two appetizer; Brussels sprouts and obazda (cheesy bacon dip with toasted baguette). The waitress and finally the owner apologized for the delay as they were down a cook. After waiting for an hour and twenty minutes they brought out one appetizer, a lump of seasoned cream cheese and pretzels. When we asked for the bill for what we had received, we got a bill for some of the items ordered but not delivered. Inexcusable lack of communication. They should not have tried to serve meals with such a short staff. There was no offer to discount the bill especially the ridiculous excuse of an appetizer. We will never return. read more

We weren't ready for dinner so we had a Bavarian pretzel that comes with three dips and Swedish meatballs. I absolutely loved the bacon jam dip that comes with the pretzel.
