The brunette receptionist rudely said, "It's gonna be a while." When I asked, "Longer than the 45 minutes I've already waited?" she coldly replied, "Yup." She never apologized or explained the delay, and I don't understand why they agreed to move my appointment earlier if they were already overbooked. I wasted a lot of time on a busy day. VERY DISAPPOINTED AFTER 4 YEARS…read more We are extremely disappointed with the outcome of my daughter's surgery and with our experience with Dr. Mehta. From the very beginning, we made it very clear that improving the tip of her nose was extremely important to us. My daughter specifically told Dr. Mehta before surgery that she wanted the tip to look nice and hoped for a feminine, refined "Barbie nose" appearance. This was a major part of what she wanted from the surgery. After the surgery, when Dr. Mehta spoke with me, the very first thing he told me was, "I didn't do the tip. I didn't want to cut the sides." I was shocked because we had repeatedly discussed the importance of the tip before surgery. At that point, I felt that something we had specifically asked for had not been done. For the past four years, we were repeatedly told that her nose would continue to improve as she healed and that everyone heals differently. During those years, my daughter also had to go through multiple injections and treatments in an attempt to improve the appearance of the tip. Unfortunately, after four years, we have seen essentially no improvement in the tip. Her nose tip remains uneven, and she is now being told that she may need a second surgery to correct it. What is most upsetting to me is that if Dr. Mehta believed from the beginning that he could not or did not want to address the tip in the way we requested, that should have been clearly explained to us before surgery. We could then have made an informed decision about whether to proceed. I understand that every patient heals differently and that no surgeon can guarantee a perfect result. However, after four years, our concern is not simply that the result is different from what we expected. It is that an important part of what my daughter specifically asked to have addressed was apparently not performed, despite our repeated discussions about it beforehand. My daughter has been unhappy and self-conscious about her tip for the past four years, and it is extremely difficult as a parent to watch her go through that after trusting a surgeon with such an important decision. We chose Dr. Mehta believing that he would listen carefully to what my daughter wanted and communicate honestly about what could and could not be achieved. During my consultation appointment, the nurse spent over 30 minutes reviewing a questionnaire I had completed online, re-asking irrelevant details such as my prior surgeons' names and their locations. This felt unnecessarily tedious for an initial consult. About 15 minutes into this process, the doctor briefly came in to begin the consultation (then quickly left), because the nurse continued questioning me for another 15+ minutes. During this time, the nurse shared her age and cosmetic history, commented that I appeared too young for a facelift, and shared some unrelated personal stories despite the appointment running behind schedule. While well-intentioned, this felt less professional than I expected. During the consult, the doctor spent about 10 minutes with me and said I was not a good candidate for a facelift due to a few raised scars on my body from prior liposuction. Yet, my facial scars from two prior lip lifts and a hairline brow lift are nearly invisible and well healed, and I have never had hypertrophic scarring. Scars can be improved with steroid injections or lasers, so refusing a facelift based solely on scar risk felt unreasonable. It also suggested a lack of confidence in her ability to minimize scars. She gave no other explanation for why I was not a candidate beyond saying the subtle lift I might get was not worth the potential scar risk in her view. The doctor took some casual photos on her iPad but offered no thorough assessment. I spoke with five different surgeons in the Bay Area and she really stood out for her professionalism. More so than any other surgeon, my consult with her felt like a medical appointment as opposed to a sales pitch. She went into my medical history and went to great lengths to understand the results I wanted to achieve, especially as a smaller person trying not to go too big. She was honest, patient, and highly informed and willing to go into great detail about the procedure, which I really appreciated. Jolie (the practice manager) was also fantastic for laying out all of the details of the surgery and making sure it went smoothly. I trusted her enough to try a new implant (Motiva) that she hadn't worked with previously and do not regret my decision at all. The surgery itself went very smoothly and I had a surprisingly quick recovery (2 days of bedrest for 215-230cc implants under the muscle). Dr. Weintraub and Jolie were very responsive with the questions I had about aftercare. Three months post-surgery, I'm incredibly happy with the results and keep getting great feedback about how natural they look and feel! 10/10 would recommend this practice and working with Dr. Weintraub especially. Note: A lot of plastic surgeons will go to great lengths to market themselves, taking out advertisements and promoting their business so it's at the top of search results. I heard about Dr. Weintraub from a friend-of-a-friend and was way more impressed with her than all of the top-billed surgeons I consulted with. She doesn't advertise as much, but honestly she doesn't need to.
