Bahamas Breeze used to be my hot spot. Without a doubt my go to chain restaurant. But then things changed. Quality went the way of the Buffalo and all I have left now is an Applebee's with reggae music. The drinks used to be to die for. My favorite was a pineapple margarita with grilled pineapple. For whatever reason the powers that be took this any many other delicious things off the menu and replaced them with sour mix tasting swill that lacks creativity and island allure. The wings are still good but definitely not as big as they used to be. For my entree I got some sort of shrimp in pasta and I can't believe how tasteless it was. Island food is always so flavorful but this was a terrible representation. Also of note-Bahama Breeze still hasn't gotten their timing down. Dumping my entree on my table three seconds after I picked up my first bite of app is extremely annoying. I did t even really want to pay for all of this but I'll consider it an expensive lesson to never come back. read more

Bahama Breeze is a great spot with good affordable prices, that has dishes with great flavor. I love their white sangria and quesadilla last. This is the third or 4th time that I've been here. When we arrived we were told that the wait was 20 minutes, but it only ended up being 8 or so. We were kindly greeted by our waiter Terry who told us about be Rumtoberfest which ends on November 8. Just made the cut. Woohoo! I decided on the a Shark Attack Shack which includes the mini version of the: $9.76 Zombie - Bacardi Black and Barbancourt, Rums with Peach Schnapps. Painkiller - Pusser's Dark Rum, cream of coconut, pineapple and OJ. with Nutmeg. Yaka Hula Hickey Dula - Pineapple. Riesling and Bacardi Black Rum. They were all really delicious and the alcohol could be tastes! The Mrs. decided on a classic, Vodka Pineapple and Cranberry. Lightweight! Lol! For dinner I had the Wood Grilled Chicken Breast. The Citrus butter sauce is a dream, and the dish is served with broccoli and cinnamon mashed sweet potatoes that are just to die for. The citrus butter sauce makes this meal what it is with the mash. There is a full portion for $15.99, and a lighter portion for $12.99. My wife had the Jerk Chicken Pasta, served with sliced chicken breast, fresh asparagus and mushrooms tossed in a Parmesan cheese sauce with bow tie pasta. Normal potion is $16.99 and the lighter portion is $13.99. The only downside to tonight's visit was that my dish came out a bit lukewarm and not hot like I like it, but that was taken care of quickly. Excellent experience. read more

Bahama breeze is perfect for happy hour. Tasty bites with tropical drinks all at a great price - these are all the makings of a perfect happy hour spot. The employees are so hard working however get overwhelmed by the large crowds that inundate this restaurant. While happy hour works their entrees dont seem to draw me in for dinner. Also, if you are not a fan of jerk seasoning or spicy food this is not for you. Luckily for me, I love jerk and fairly spiced food. The pineapple coconut martini is delicious and the key west nachos hit the spot. However, the strong smell of feces that kept surfacing was not pleasant and very concerning. Also, the bartender gave us the wrong check and gave us a whole story about how she confused it with another patrons and ours was .50 cheaper than it should have been - actually it was $3 over but that wasn't worth the hassle so I let it go. read more

This restaurant is BUSY as it's within the cherry hill Mall. Getting a table for 2-3 ppl I never had to wait more than 20 to 30 minutes but let me tell you the food is worth it. I always order the appetizer like firecracker shrimp and the onion rings which come to the table right away. the servers are always friendly too, the place is pretty clean but it does get loud. I do see infants sitting by the tables and I never hear any parent complain. that's a big issue for me because I just gave birth a week ago and I would like to take my baby there. There is half price happy hour that ends at 7 PM so definitely take advantage they have virgin cocktails and some of the appetizers are half price. I've only been to Bahama Breeze once before. I got a gift card from my boss for one of the Darden restaurants (e.g. Season 52, Cheddars, Olive Garden) so we decided on Bahama Breeze since we thought our 4 year old would like the beachy atmosphere. Can't complain, I was able to get my skirt steak and my son had mac and cheese. The server was very accommodating and attentive. I really was curious when I saw the email from Bahama Breeze telling me that they were serving Thanksgiving dinner. I asked my better half what she thought about having dinner there instead of slaving over the stove all day, then spending the night cleaning up, she said sure. As you can see by the picture I posted, all four of our dinners arrived at the table in wonderfully hot condition. The turkey was tender and juicy and was served with bonus jerk pork. It also came with your choice of garlic mashed potatoes or whipped sweet potatoes with cinnamon. Cornbread stuffing and a side of string beans w/callaloo and cranberry pineapple chutney rounded out the meal. I wish we had the room for dessert, unfortunately not. The conch fritters could've had a little more seasoning and conch but overall it was okay. I ordered the strawberry & pina colada which is great but a little sweet. i wasn't gonna make a review because i feel like bahama breeze wasn't made for me but they did make an effort to have inclusive menu items so i guess it is justified to do 1. i came here twice with some friends, first time i just got a drink and it was pretty good, second time i was hungry so i got the black bean tacos and they were not good at all. they were edible, that's the best i can say about them. i was under the impression it would be some type of black bean mixture they make there but it was just a chopped up processed veggie burger with a couple black beans sprinkled around and a half a pound of tomatoes on top. the fries were ok. our waitress was nice, although they did bring me blackened fish tacos at first but mistakes happen and it was loud in there so i'm not factoring that into my review. also the floor in the lobby area-walk way to the dining room is made of super uneven stones older people and those with balance/walking issues should be careful. read more

Very good food for the price point. It is as if someone took the Buffalo Wild wings format and made it Caribbean themed, made the food better and the drinks cheaper. This location is usually very crowded. On a Tuesday night at 8:00 PM we had about a 15 minute wait for a table for 5. Our sever was pretty good and took our orders fairly quickly. We did have to ask for napkins and silverware after our food arrived. There is a newer menu now at Bahama Breeze since I was there last. This menu had some nice rice bowl options and listed the calories. The prices are pretty reasonable and the quality of ingredients seemed fairly high also. I have been to three different BB locations and the interiors are all pretty similar and have that tropical vibe. Bahama Breeze Cherry Hill Mall is a good choice for eating when in the mall area. I was excited to return to Bahama Breeze after not visiting for over a year. It was nice to see the updated menu included authentic Caribbean dishes. We ordered the Calamari and Beef Empanadas to start. The beef empanadas were still so good. The calamari was just okay and the dipping sauce did not make any sense. It tasted like watered down tomato sauce. A couple bites into our appetizer, the entrees were already prepared and placed on our table. Seriously??? We didn't even order them at the same time. For entrees, we ordered the oxtails and they did not have any Caribbean flavors instead it was just seasoned with a bunch of salt. I should have known it would not be prepared with authentic flavors when paired with green beans and corn. We also had the shrimp and lobster pasta which did not have any flavor whatsoever. I tried to add salt and pepper and still very bland. How can you mess up a simple pasta? They should look into ingredients for Rasta Pasta. The 1 Star is simply for the beef empanadas and for this reason I won't be back. While I understand, it is a chain restaurant that will never truly serve authentic Caribbean food, the food should at least be seasoned well so that it is still good. I'm sitting here in the middle of winter, with snow on the ground, the wind blustering outside, school closed for the day, and I'm thinking about Bahama Breeze and summer. I've been to Bahama Breeze twice for dinner and it's becoming one of our favorite date night spots. Like most of the restaurants at the Cherry Hill Mall, Bahama Breeze is extravagant with it's theme and ambiance, but plagued by a crowded parking lot. Both times we have made reservations and both times we were seated right away when we arrived. The "outdoor" patio (which is still heated and indoors) always makes me feel like I'm in a warm Caribbean beach resort and not in a miserable weathered New Jersey. Adding to the dream is the live Jamacian music from one of their talented musicians, and not a two-bit cover band. Besides an escape from our New Jersey/Philly Monday to Friday lives, Bahama Breeze has mouthwatering food and a solid beer selection. Knowing what I'm about and against change, I've gotten the same meal twice - Grilled chicken breast over a citrus butter sauce. The chicken is moist and the sauce is sweet, zesty, and any other positive cliché you heard while watching Iron Chef in your pajamas. It comes in two meal sizes, with the full size ($16.49) having two cutlets rather than the light portion's ($12.99) one. The meal also comes with heavenly mashed potatoes and broccoli that can be barely legally dipped in that citrus butter sauce. The Aruba Red ale ($5.69) was a refreshing drink, and a step up from common beers. To sum it up, Bahama Breeze has it all. The atmosphere, the food, and reasonable prices. Then while I was walking back from the bathroom I saw a cook waving I assumed he was waving at someone else and then I saw he was still waving and slowly walking out of the kitchen towards me I gave a awkward wave back and he was still walking out of the kitchen walking towards me until I sat down at the table with my boyfriend. Had a great lunch with the fiancé before we did a little xmas shopping at the CHM. Started with a frozen pineapple drink called the "ultimate pineapple" it comes in a pineapple and holy crap was it strong! The fiancé had a coconut mojito, another good one that was also a pretty potent potion. We ordered a coconut shirmp app and it came out quickly and was hot, crispy and fresh. Citrus mustard dip was on point. The fiancé agreed. We followed with an order of Key West tacos with mahi mahi. The bartender gave us a Caribbean hot sauce that went great with tacos. The tacos came with a tortilla soup which the fiancé wasn't in love with but I thought was ok. We also had a crab shrimp stack with avocado and mango. The fiancé thought it need a little something and I ageed but it did all taste fresh and with a little Caribbean hot sauce we overall enjoyed it. 3.5 stars. I'm really really surprised that a chain restaurant was as good as this. There was barely any wait, and this was on a Saturday night. Lots of families too, so it doesn't get too rowdy like an overcrowded bar in the city. I got the almond-crusted salmon with lemon butter sauce (with rice and green beans), and lemme tell ya, those almonds and sauce were SO GOOD. The fish was a little dry at the edges but was cooked perfectly towards the middle. I can't stress enough how good the almonds and sauce were! My husband got the jerk chicken pasta (ehh, could have used more jerk seasoning..it was a little bland), while our friend got the seared scallops with Peruvian corn cakes. Wow! These were also very very good. Service was a little spotty. I'm a fast drinker and not once were our drinks refilled. By the time our waitress came around, we were pretty much finished with our meal. And not that I'm knocking points for this (just an observation), but her bright green nails were very distracting. They were seriously all I could look when she came over to take our orders and to give us the check. Distracting green nail polish or not, Bahama Breeze has good food (especially the fish!). This is one of my favorite chain restaurants to go to. The food tastes great and very original. The decor is also amazing. I love walking into it and feel like I'm in a different world. Don't go here during dinner though...the wait is ridiculous and you don't really get the best service! My favorite dish is the tostones with chicken (it's an appetizer, but I order it as my meal). This is plantains toped with mushrooms, cheese, peppers, chicken, tomatoes, etc, etc. Omg, so so so good!!! My husband changes his order here and there, but mostly sticks with the Jerk chicken pasta. They aren't too consistent with this dish. Sometimes it's amazing (coming out with perfect amount of spices, cream, ingredients), but then other times its horrible that we would have to send it back (watery, no flavor). Other items we ordered were wings (mmmm), coconut shrimp (great most times, sometimes kinda mushy), onion rings (love the sauce that comes with it), this rice dish with seafood, garlic shrimp pasta, cuban sandwich (basically we tried more than half items on the menu). Bahama Breeze is a casual chain with a delightful atmosphere and friendly staff. Ambiance: From the moment you walk up to the door you're welcomed by the sounds of Caribbean jams that make you feel like you're on vacation. I love the tall ceilings, music, and bright decor. There is plenty of outside and covered seating as well for enjoying the weather. This place just screams fun with no fuss! Food: The food here is OK. They excel in selection - with a ton of Caribbean/Jamaican ingredients and classics like Jerk Chicken or Coconut Shrimp. They also do a great job of putting a spin on classic American dishes like chicken wings and burgers. I had the Taste of Jamaica which was a great way to try a lot of different things. Everything I had was OK - nothing was particularly good or particularly bad. It would have definitely hit the spot had I been craving Jamaican food, though. Drink: While I did not drink, it's notable to mention how extensive and creative the cocktail options are. They clearly put a lot of attention into beverages and it shows. Need to return for a happy hour! Service: Our server was very friendly, pleasant, and knowledgeable. The Mrs. and I have been to these in the past, but it's been a while and I wanted a rum drink. We were near the CH mall and I figured where better to get it than Bahama Breeze. Overall, this trip was a 3 despite my 4 rating (as we've had better experiences at other locations). Felt like dining al fresco so we went up and the hostess informed us that it's open seating in the bar/outside area. Wow. Either they were short staffed, the staff was being lazy or both. There were open tables but had yet to be cleared. We chose the least dirty-plate occupied one then waited for a few minutes until a server cleared it (with a slight look like 'what's wrong with you.. can't you see the table is dirty) while I replied with my own subconscious response of, 'not that busy, how about a little hustle.. you know if you got more people in and out you'd make a lot more money...." Anyways... Fortunately, she was not our server. A soft-spoken gentleman attended to us and once we received our drinks all was fine. (seriously.. get a manager out there to help bus the tables.. people were waiting to sit but nearly EVERY table had dirty dishes piling up... or fire the bussers cuz they weren't keepin up). (sigh) I digress.. we got a few rum spiked cocktails which help set the relaxing tone in addition to the caribbean music artist playing soft Bohemian beats in the back. We shared an island hopper platter which was a healthy assortment of conch fritters (tasty, but a little dense), jerk chicken wings (very tasty, not spicy but 'spiced' with a nice stickiness from the chicken skin), onion rings (thick cuts fried until deliciously crisp) and coconut shrimp (four large butterflied perfectly crispy shrimps). This was accompanied by three sauces: a mango sauce, a tamarind'esque(?) sauce and a tomato-ginger chutney (great on the shrimp). After we shared a carnitas rice bowl. Think paella flavored rice (saffron kissed) with pulled pork and chorizo (not unlike a jambalaya) and sweet plantains and garbanzo beans.. although they could have been a bit more generous with the plantains as these seemed to be more of a garnish than a component. We finished with a coconut pineapple cake which was perfect. Light, full of coconut and pineapple and the coconut-chocolate sauce complemented it very well. All in all, the food and drink was quite enjoyable. Our server was very nice. I just couldn't get over the lack of urgency in this section. I think we'll sit inside next time. Maybe a manager will be around to stay on top of the staff and prevent tables from becoming potential dirty plate cemeteries. We had an $80 order that was not packaged properly and seeped thru the bag. We did not know and when we picked the bag up, it ripped and all of the order fell on the floor. It's 10:30pm, so dinner is ruined. After calling, we were told we had to pick up all wasted food off the floor, put it in our car and drive it back to them. At that point, they would give us another order. I just wanted a refund and was told no. The manager named Christin was rude, dismissive and was responding to my call as though she did not care. My favorite place for happy hour in the area, hands down. Bahama Breeze happy hour consists of a huge variety of food options (tacos, wings, chips & dip..) you're going to want to try everything. I've had a majority of the happy hour menu at this point and I have never been disappointed. The food is always delicious and the vibes are always upbeat here (especially when you get seated by the patio bar). I must admit, I get carried away with ordering too many happy hour appetizers, but it's because everything is so great here! I always end up leaving with extra food to take home. I can't speak much on the regular lunch or dinner menu since I've only had it a couple of times, but in my experience some of the flavors aren't completely great. Came here with a friend on a Saturday evening and the wait was not too long (about 25-30min). I ordered the Jamaican Stuffed Plantain Bowl and the Mango jalapeño mojito. As an appetizer, I got the calamari. The calamari wasn't all that, I wouldn't get it if I went again. It was pretty bland and as opposed to marinara, I received a sauce that tasted like chili sauce which I didn't feel was complementary to the meal. I felt weird about ordering the mango jalapeño mojito knowing it had peppers in it but it seemed interesting and was recommended. You have a choice of having up to 3 jalapeños in the drink and I got two. I was absolutely satisfied and definitely recommend it. Lastly, my meal was also recommended. I'm Jamaican so when a restaurant says it has Jamaican food, I expect it to meet at least minimal standards. While I can't speak for all items that claim to be Jamaican on the menu, I did try a piece of jerk pork from my friend and was disappointed. However, my plantain bowl which is original to the restaurant and not necessarily a Jamaican delicacy (although the name would say otherwise), I was highly pleased. I had a pineapple and mango mojito and our party of three shared the onion rings which was covered in a beautiful batter of coconut. Next came my order of buttermilk fried chicken breasts on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes and spinach with a side of roasted corn and tomato salsa.... I think, at least that's what I called it. Our food came out within 10 minutes of the appetizer and boy was it a lot- after eating through the humongo pile of onion rings which were quite sweet, eating the dinners were laborious. Generally, I eat local and try to stay away from chain restaurants but when I go out of my realm and give a 4 star rating it's serious business. No, you will not get a gourmet meal. No, the service is not above and beyond. Yes, you will have a small wait. Yes, there are strange people eating amongst you (lady showing everyone her ugly baby). You ask: "Okay, why 4 stars?" We took my mother in law here for her birthday this week. I haven't been to this place in forever because i felt like the quality of the food had changed and the service was terrible. I guess i needed the long break because when i went back last week, i had not one complaint! Everything we had was delicious and the service was exceptional. It's very disheartening in this day and age as a black person to be approached by a restaurant manager after sitting in a booth for 30 minutes which you made a reservation for then standing up to greet your partner without leaving the vacinity of that booth then after immediately sitting back down be hassled about whether I belong in that very seat. After a few attempts of explaining that I had reservations, already been seated by the hostesses at my table and had a drink served to me by my waiter the manager finally walked away to verify my claim. While I don't view this incident as necessarily a racial one, I do see it as an incompetence one by the offending manager. Coming from a former restaurant manager, if you know so little of what's happening on the floor that you can't identify someone who hasn't moved for 30+ minutes then this isn't the job for you! I could not be happier with the service provided to us! My son has allergies and our waitress, Joy and the manager, Tim were outstanding! Tim came out and checked on my sons food as soon as it hit the table. Highly recommend for anyone who struggles with finding good places for people with allergies! And our food was fantastic! read more
