Ok so the 2 stars are for their good late night happy hour prices bc that is the only good thing about this place. We had a baby and were sat in the section that is for large parties and extremely loud. There were large parties taking pictures near our table where we were eating & we had to tell them to get away from our table bc the restaurant staff didn't address this behavior. We had to ask for silverware, straws and water. Definitely will never return. First timers, will definitely be back! Melissa was our sever, and was fantastic. Gave us recommendations and answered all of our questions. We started off with a lobster and shrimp quesadilla, which was very tasty. For an entreé, I chose the buttermilk fried chicken dish. Didn't know how it would turn out at a seafood place, but boy was it succulent. My boyfriend chose the coconut shrimp, per recommendation. The sauce it came with out of this world, and the choice of vegetable (broccoli) suited his fancy quite perfectly. To top of the evening, we came to an agreement to share the chocolate island. I have to say, it was quite the decadent desert, garnished with a healthy amount of sliced almonds. Went with a group for dinner and drinks. Dinner was great, our waiter was super great, friendly, and attentive (the reason this review is 3 and not less). We closed out with him and moved to the patio to enjoy happy hour by the fire. That's when it all went downhill. Our waitress was so rude. We waited 30 minutes for drinks and she even forgot some. She didn't even put ice in my pregnant friend's water. She was so rude and actually just walked away and refused to get a shot for one of the people in the party (who was not drunk, so it wasn't a fear of over-serving). They started cleaning up the patio and stacking chairs all around us before it was even closing time. So I guess it's a hit or miss with your waiter which can go for everywhere. HOWEVER I can say that our drinks had significantly less alcohol after Happy Hour so I would stick with ordering beer. read more

Food was good, the quesadillas were possibly the best I've ever tasted (and I like me some quesadillas). There was a guy playing keyboards and singing, which I didn't realize until I saw him, because he was so talented! I thought it was just radio at first. But the mojitos...I don't think they muddled the mint, which is important. I make a good mojito, and was expecting slightly more. Excellent service. My wife and I went here for her birthday last night and it was great. The restaurant was packed but we still got our appetizer, our meals and desserts in under an hour. It was my first time here and to say I was not impressed with anything is an understatement. When we arrived it was not busy at all and was told our server was held up due to shift change and would be with us shortly. My friend and I were completely ok with that since we were not in a rush. We ordered the crab and avocado stack as an appetizer and there were crab shells throughout the crab meat. I ordered the salmon salad for my entree and the salmon was completely burnt and overcooked and came out with the wrong dressing. I am not one to complain to the server especially because he did not cook the food, but my friend is also a chef and insisted we say something. I did not expect for them to take it off my bill because I did eat half of it, but a manager never came to the table to even apologize. This is completely unprofessional. So we had a reservation for 430 for 7. We wanted 4 but they could seat us then. We wanted to be there for happy hour. The restaurant called us in the morning to confirm we were a party of 7 and if we were late they could only hold our table for 15 minutes if we were late. We were a few minutes early and we went in to let them know we were there. They told us that our table wasn't ready and they would let us know via text message. We were like okay, we went outside to wait, we saw people go in and not come out... HMMM so my sister went back into the restaurant and they proceeded to tell her that the table we were supposed to Be seated at had people at it and they did not Evan have their meal yet and don't know how long they would be. We had a reservation, why make a reservation or even OFFER reservations IF YOU ARE NOT going to seat folks at their reservation, then WHY BOTHER OFFERING THEM. We didn't wait we went to another restaurant that was almost right next door and they seated us right away.. a bad first impression for my first time going there. Unhappy with this place. I will be contacting the corporate tomorrow. I have only eaten here once before many many years ago. It was a date so we were there mostly for drinks and I do not recall the experience. This time around we were extremely hungry. My daughter just got done working at the local mall and we were looking to place a carry out order to bring home but did not want fast food. I did not take pictures because we got home in a rush and intended to eat quickly. I order the mahi & shrimp bowl. My mahi was dry and over cooked, the shrimp were mush smaller than the picture showed and I was unaware I would be getting baby shrimp. The snow peas were not trimmed and difficult to eat & the entire dish tasted like the plastic container it was in! Yuck! I suppose my meal sat in the hot window hence it tasted like melted plastic & chemicals by the time we got it home. My boyfriend got the coconut shrimp, broccoli & yellow rice. He did not like the rice & he said the shrimp were moist versus fried & rubbery. We ordered a side salad of caesar. The salad was good as well as the dressing however the side of dressing was extremely small & I suggest asking for two or three sides as I think they are half - 1 oz containers for dressing! My daughter order the jerk chicken sandwich with goat cheese & French fries. She happened to be the only diner who enjoyed her meal. We paid $42.00 for three carry out meals. No drinks, no desserts. Bad service, bad food! Attended a birthday dinner last night at Bahama Breeze. First, our party of 9 received only half of our appetizers (they 'forgot' the other half and brought them out well after the first set of appetizers were eaten). Then, some of our entree items were never delivered (side salads were ordered and just never appeared). To top off the night, my husband and I got food poisoning from this restaurant! Bahama Breeze has the best happy hour. 4 dollar drinks and half off of apps...what more can you ask for? The apps are amazing. Jerk shrimp, fried plantains with chicken and cheese, habanero wings ( yum), beef empanadas ( patties ), firecracker shrimp, seafood chowder, coconut shrimp, crab stack, and the onion rings. All these apps are great! Jam jerk chic pasta yummy, the chicken cilantro, wood grill chicken, and Cuban sandwiches. I've tried all these and the food is great! I can't imagine why anyone complains about the wonderful food and the awesome drinks...the service is great too ...don't forget to tip your servers right. Tip suggestion on the bottom of receipts... Me and my boyfriend got the frozen bahamarita at bat and it came out good. We each ordered our appetizers which we ended up sharing. We got the firecracker shrimp and the key west nachos. We ordered steak and chicken curry with pineapple chutney on it for entrees while Mac and cheese with a side of fruits for my son and apple juice for him. The service was good and wasn't that bad. He was friendly and assisted as nicely and patiently since we couldn't decide which entrees we were gonna get. The prices were decent and affordable. I only come for the happy hour cause that's the best time. The apps and drinks are half off and you could eat till your heart is content for relatively cheap. Waitress was attentive and always asked us for refills on drinks, my favorite is the Aruba red if you're into amber ales. I ALWAYS get the firecracker shrimp and we also got the wings, spinach dip, lobster quesadilla and onion rings. Everything came out hot and fresh and tasted amazing all around. After hearing such great things about this restaurant, I finally decided to try it out. I made a reservation and was greeted by the hostess who was very pleasant. Our server was so sweet and was trying her best since it seemed like she was the only server , or the only one actually working. She even made a comment about how she was swamped with tables. We ordered our drinks, appetizers, and dinner at the same time. We got our appetizers quickly but still no drinks. We started to notice other tables who arrived after us were getting their drinks. The bartender was also taking his time chit chatting with tables. After about 30 minutes, we finally got our drinks which i think the server made herself. I ordered the tilapia and it came out almost completely raw. I then had to wait an extra 15 minutes for my food to come out. To top it off, they didn't offer us any discount or anything because of it. My mother ordered a shrimp dish and it had an excessive amount of garlic in it, to the point where she could hardly eat it. We visited the Bahama Breeze at the Princeton location (3535 US Highway 1 Princeton, NJ 08540 at Marketfair) on a Saturday for lunch a few days after it opened. I wouldn't recommend it at all and the reason is pretty easy: I got sick and throw up the meal that I had here. I ordered the seafood paella which seemed nice but as I do not eat seafood so often I couldn't judge if it wasn't fresh or good at all. I got sick despite the fact that I mainly ate the rice and not so much of the seafood (of that I mainly ate the shrimp) - so I assume they cooked it all together before serving. I felt pretty sick after a few hours and all the meal I had came out... :( It was my worst experience with a restaurant food ever, I never got sick of any kind of food before. Besides this really not negligible part of our experience here we also weren't satisfied with the service: the staff acted strange and the waitress was careless (eg. never bring me out the ordered glass of water) The serving was slow and we happened to see 4 times with different servers that they had no idea who ordered the food/drink what they were carrying and they tried to serve them to the incorrect tables. Despite all of the above disaffections with the serving we would give them a second chance as we liked the place's atmosphere, but we cannot excuse the food poisoning. read more

This place definitely takes you to the tropics when you step inside! The food is always good and their drink selection (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) is amazing. The only thing I have ever thought negatively about with this restaurant is the service. Many of the servers are not personable, but in my opinion the atmosphere and food is worth dealing with potential blank faces instead of smiles; however, these servers usually know the menu pretty well. read more

I did not have a good experience here. I've had multiple good experiences here and no complaints previously. However today we ordered some quesadilla appetizers and one was supposed to be chicken and one was supposed to be cheese. After eating half of the quesadilla that was supposedly cheese, my sister realized there was shrimp in there! I don't eat seafood and luckily I don't have an allergy to seafood, but this could have been a problem for someone that has a seafood allergy. They really need to be more careful! I don't eat seafood at all and this completely grossed me out, ruined my appetite, and made me nauseous. Used to be a great place to chill out and listen to reggae and steel drum music. Service was prompt and friendly. But, something has changed. The music is decidedly urban and the crowd is anything but chill. On a recent visit, my wife and I had to listen to an obnoxious group of thugs at the bar shouting obscenities and "Hands up, Don't shoot". The barmaids appeared to be friends with the group and let the bad behavior continue. It's really a shame, it used to be a great place. Bottom line: You will not feel safe in this place. We went to this restaurant because it was the choice of our graduates. It looked like fun and the island music was inviting. The king of Pan was great. We had a party of 20 and 1 waiter. I questioned him as to how how would handle this and perhaps he should request help. He did not and it was 45 minutes to get drinks which were wrong more than right. The food was also very slow, cold and misplaced. I went to the manager when I saw the drink fiasco and stated the the waiter needed help and that's what they gave. Help in carrying food and taking orders. Plenty of apologies but the experience was mediocre at best. It was greed. And the management allowed it. He wanted the big tip. I stated to the Gen manager that I was paying the same price as anyone else in the establishment therefore should have the same service. They made us reserve the 3 table separately, there should have service for each table. But at the end of the day every child was on the honor roll. I left a 15% tip and that was 10% too much.
