Bahama Breeze will always be one of my favorite restaurants. Caribbean food just can't be beat. This was my first time coming to this location. I came here with some friend kind of late at night after a movie across the street. It's a super convenient location. We split a bunch of appetizers and cocktail flights, which is always the best. Everything was delicious, as always. I also discovered that they have late-night happy hour deals, which I never knew because I usually come around dinner time. I came for lunch. The service was great. The waitress kept checking on me. The Bang Bang Shrimp tasted great. I recommend trying it. Everything was very enjoyable. The food service was fast. I was happy. This location is very nicely decorated. It has beautiful bright colors all around. I liked the fans. I couldn't stop looking around. There were so many cute things all over. Where the bar area is. The chairs are all different colors. The decorations give this place one nice, chill vibe. The restaurant has two entrances. The north entrance gets you farther parking options unless you turn towards the other side. I came for lunch. So when we first walked in very cute place, cute decor, lively Jamaican music, which I like, but we sat at the bar and we saw about five employees huddled up and it took a long time for someone to come over and greet us and we are the only people at the bar and there's two tables taken so they weren't busy. One of the largest Bahama Breeze locations around. First time at this restaurant. The Paella was delicious, possibly the best Ive had. The conch fritters were moist but too bready with way too little conch, they were kinda just fritters. The dip was amazing though. The food came out very quickly but the waitress was very nice but hard to find at times. The manager came over to the table and he was professional and personable. We went on a Friday night and were promptly seated. The place only had a few tables occupied. I'm not sure how they stay in business. We had great service and food. The prices were lower than other restaurants. I had the Jamaican plantain dish. It was a huge sliced in half sweet plantain stuffed with seasoned browned beef, rice and cheese. There were black beans served around the plantain. My boyfriend had the mushroom/chicken/asparagus and bow tie pasta. We sat outside. They had the heat lamps running. Our group was a good size without an advance reservation, but we still were seated immediately without a problem. The dining area and restroom were clean. The bar drink was delicious. Entree portions are generous. The little ones enjoyed their cheeseburger and fries and bowtie macaroni and cheese kids meals. The cons are the food temperature and taste. My entree--seafood paella--when brought out, had that glazed over look like it had been sitting on the plate for a while and despite the variety of seafood contained, the taste was bland. This was my first time at this location. We were freezing, but the excellent service more than made up for it. We had several people come and check on us, in addition to our server. We had an okay lunch here mid week. We were in the area and had a gift card to use up. They were not that busy. Only a few tables inside and a couple outside were occupied. We sat at the bar with a few other people. We asked about lunch specials and the bar person pointed out the combos section of the menu. It took about 25 minutes to get our food -- with less than 2 dozen people in the restaurant. We'd gotten our drinks and when the gal checked on us, we said we are hungry. So she went to the kitchen to get our food. I'd ordered the combo of coconut shrimp -- four with a dipping sauce -- and a house salad that came with a vinaigrette dressing. My husband also had the salad with a half Cuban sandwich. We both felt that our meals were "edible", but nothing to write home about -- or praise. It's a lovely tropical setting. The shrimp was perfectly prepared with a crunchy coconut coating. The citrus mustard sauce complemented the shrimp so well. Really wanted more of it. The chowder was delicious, creamy, and full of flavor with tender bits of potato and seafood pieces in every bite. The pineapple-coconut martini was lightly sweet with a touch of rum. Wasn't overpowering. When the server came around to see if things were ok, I asked about the dessert menu since I had a bit of room in my tummy. As the server verbally recalled the dessert list, I knew I heard pineapple cheesecake in there. The server then explained it was pineapple cheesecake empanadas. I contemplated whether to try it...but I wouldn't be a foodie if I didn't...why not. As the plate was placed in front of me, I stared at it in awe. Visually the empanadas was appetizing. Four freshly made empanadas filled with pineapple bits and cheesecake, fried to a golden brown with cinnamon sugar and chocolate/raspberry drizzle. I never tasted cheesecake hot before, but I have to admit the flavors of the filling together with the fried dough was amazing, and it wasn't too sweet. I managed to eat two of the empanadas and take the remainder home as a snack. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Came for happy hour/dinner with 20 people. Server was Cecilia. She was not happy, or attentive. My salmon salad was forgotten. Spoke to the Manager & it arrived shortly after. One bite, my mouth was on fire , apparently, the beans had jalapeños. I asked to remake the salad so it is not spicy, ( I asked if it was before I ordered it). I received the left over gosh over lettuce. Service lacked the entire night. Bahama drink was sweet & nice. Music was super loud. Not happy!!! General Manager came out, apologized & comped the bill. Came here for a work happy hour. There was plenty of parking out back. We were out on the patio and it was the perfect size for our group. I ordered drinks but unfortunately the order never went through and I had to order again. The regular mojito was not good- it tasted as if someone just poured cheap rum in a glass and put mint in it. However the strawberry mojito was another story- it was pretty good and my drink of choice for the rest of the night. We got a full spread of appetizers- I enjoyed the empanadas and bang bang shrimp. This is the 4th time I have visited this location. This last visit, allowed me to add 1 star from my last drafted review. The service was much better in the outdoor area. We enjoyed the Happy Hour drinks and appetizers. I recommend the jerk shrimp and coconut shrimp, and suggest you stay away from the crab dip, which was oddly fishy and extra salty. Still not my favorite Happy Hour location, but worth a try, and I would consider another visit. read more

The word of the day is "miss" July 15, 2023 I decided to try this franchise instance in our new town of Fort Lauderdale. I used to go one in Kendall back when I lived in Miami in the 2000's. I never had an issue with the Kendall location. The food and service were both excellent. Unfortunately, this is not the case here. We arrived at around 7 PM on a Saturday which should be prime time. I noticed the restaurant was mostly empty. We were seated in a booth and I saw a party of 4 about 2 tables away from us. We sat for about 15 minutes and no one came around for anything. I immediately knew we were seated in a dead zone. I saw a small convoy of the wait staff talking to someone up front and finally someone points to us. A server comes by and instead of an apology for the long wait she says "well I guess I'll be serving you." At this point I asked if we were a burden which threw her for a loop. At this point I changed my tune in terms of what I was going to order. No island drinks (instead water) no fancy dishes (I scaled back to some ahi tacos) After we order we get a parade of other workers in the restaurant. Our original waitress was mysteriously replaced with someone else. This must have happened in response to me letting the manager know (part of the parade) what happened. I asked specifically with an empty restaurant how could you seat guests in a section with no coverage. No real answer other than "it was a miss." Two more "misses" ensued including not getting the side I originally ordered (it was replaced) as well as the food being quite awful. The meal was comped by the manager without my asking. But I'm sorry, I told her point blank that I would never go back to this place. There are better options (See Coconuts and Tommy Bahamas) A final suggestion for restaurants that have to deal with "sections." Just turn it into self order / self serve and make it easier on everyone. read more

One of my coworkers is leaving us, so we came here to say fair well! I ordered the lunch plate with empanadas and a salad, their house dressing was the best! Tart, slightly sweet and seasoned and the pepitas added the perfect crunch to this simple salad. The empanadas had a light and flakey crust and the filling was just soft enough to have a great mouth feel with enough texture that you felt you were having a meal. The appetizers were great! The jerked wings were the best thing in wings I've had in FOREVER! The dips were great and the coconut shrimp, which I am usually not a fan of (always saw it as a metropolitan fad), was awesome, I would order it again! The chips and guacamole were stale. Then shrimp dish appeared to be pre-frozen shrimp and some kind of a butter sauce. that tasted horrible. I wanted a cheeseburger and asked for the meat to be well done. The meat was sensually raw, and I had to send it back. Must sure how they can mess that up in the kitchen. The mahi-mahi tacos appear to be Cisco fresh and have been pre-frozen before. Not taste at all. The nachos are nothing to speak of. Even the iced tea had a weird taste to it like it was old. The whole entire indoor seating area was beautifully decorated and even had colorful fans and quirky bottle lights draped from the ceiling. Due to CoVid, the regular menu is pretty limited. We ordered mostly happy hour items: Ultimate Pina Colada, empanadas, coconut shrimp, spinach dip and chips. My grandmother also ordered a steak dinner. The steak itself was chewy even though it was medium rare. The Mashed potatoes that came on the side were good. They noticed my grandmother didn't eat more than a bite or two of the steak and the manager took it off the menu without any prompting. I haven't been to a Bahama Breeze since they first opened the location in Sawgrass Mills, back in the early 2000's (that was weird to say!). They recently opened this location near my current home in OP/FLL and I was intrigued to come since we also had a gift card. We came for just some drinks and appetizers. We sat outside since it was such a nice night. I thought I'd be bothered by the cars driving by but they had some nice music playing which helped drown out the noise. If you want to sit near the fire pit definitely call ahead for a reservation. Since they're only seating every other table to keep everyone distanced there's limited seating available in that area. Our server was great - very attentive and friendly. The Dark & Storm was tasty and while I liked the Mojito Cubano I think there was too much "stuff" (mint leaves and such) to really make it worth the price of the drink. We also liked the spinach dip and firecracker shrimp appetizers. We also ordered a few beers before closing out our tab. Overall, I was impressed with the service and the atmosphere at this location. The food choices haven't changed very much since my last visit but I'd be open to coming back for actual entree's next time around. read more

Chain restuarants to me can be blah. And I'm usually not a fan of our South Florida Bahama Breeze but this location here has won me over. I love the fact that the seating options are very wide spread and always avaliable. This location is super clean and has its own private parking lot. Though the parking is typically full its still alot of places still available on a busy night. I typically sit at the bar and each time no matter when I come the service is good. The food I've tried has been the Salmon and veggies, conch fritters, and chicken all which had been cooked full and flavorful. The meals come out in a timely manner. The drinks omg are amazing I have yet to be disappointed by any drink here. The pricing is quite fair and the flight options are my favorite since you get to try several drinks with one purchase. My favorite is the Margarita flight omg soooo yummy. I've also tried the bahama mama punch and others. All made very well.
