Went in to get two drinks on Memorial Day and it was a 45-minute wait. The poor girl working inside was the only employee there, which honestly seemed unsafe for a young woman to be alone running the business on a holiday. She was clearly doing the best she could. The drive-thru line was long, the inside wait was long, and despite all of it, she remained professional and patient with everyone. Other customers were asking why the owner didn't come help, send additional staff, or simply close if they knew only one employee would be working. She mentioned that she had informed her boss, but nothing was done. This review is not a reflection of the employee -- she handled a stressful situation very well. Before I get into this, I must disclose that my roommate is single-handedly propping up Bahama Buck's business in the Cypress area. Armed with gift cards aplenty and an insatiable need to consume copious amounts of sour patch sauce, my roomie ordered a tiger's blood-grape with sour patch sauce and warhead spray while her boyfriend and I got a pair of the Sour Patch Kid Blue Raspberries - infant size. When my roomie went to retrieve her snow cone, Mr. Buck's failed to include grape in her chosen menagerie of flavors, then begrudgingly "fixed" it by just pouring copious amounts of grape on the top of her cone. This was the first time I had a shaved ice from Bahamas busks and I got the Christmas tree. I can say that I hated it my first layer had no flavor then boom the red happened and it was sour which I know it was supposed to be but I took a bite and I choked on it for ten minutes I couldn't stop coughing and choking. I arrived at 5:15 to pick it up and overheard the workers say they accidentally gave the order to someone else. The girl at the front just came back and said that they'd be one moment. A big plus is they have Sugar free selections (which I love because I'm diabetic). So for those who are diabetic like me,you can enjoy a special treat too, guilt free! This is the worst shaved ice joint EVER! The employees were all high school kids and had no idea what they were doing. Why is there not one real adult in here?! The 4 kids in there were just lost. We waited no fewer than 30 mins to get two shaved ice. While we were there, one lady got irate and said she had been waiting 45 mins. We always order the baby size because they are gigantic. I have had the pink bubble gum, strawberry cheesecake and blue bubblegum. They are all yummy and come with lots of syrup. But it's super annoying to pay $5 for one of these and realize they were stingy with the flavor. Almost every time, the center and bottom are completely flavorless. When I lived in a small town in Louisiana a few years ago there was a shaved ice place that put cream on top... I've never found another place since - until now! So many flavors to choose from and I love that they have sugar free. My 3 year old does not need any extra energy, believe me. This is definitely my favorite location. Although they are not open on Sundays and the one on Jones is, this one has way quicker service which is very important to me. Sometimes it can be hard to find a seat so the drive-through is way easier and more convenient, but as long as you're OK with that and want your ice fast I would say this is the location to come too. On the other hand if you are not in a hurry and just want to sit down with friends and family I would definitely check out the one on Jones road by Cypress N. Houston Rd. The pricing is great and the yelp coupon was awesome. The sizes are kind of ginormous so I typically get the baby size and that is more than enough for me. You can enjoy a decent size portion of a shaved ice treat without feeling like you're downing Imperial sugar packets. Speaking of size, a small at Buck's is more than enough for me, even on a hot Texas day (but far be it from me to limit your freedom of choice). Warning -- on our visit, this place was absolutely mobbed at 8:30 pm, with at least 10 cars lined up in the drive-thru. They also have a "Thin Ice" variation using stevia -- 0 calories. Each time I have come to this location and used the drive through, they are very unprofessional and it's clear they are really really young so I can't blame them. Also the flat top cones need to have a better presentation. I was given TWO of these that the cups were damaged and the actual snow cone looked really bad to the point where I asked "what happened?" Bahama Yucks! To me their product tastes like cough syrup and a pile of extra sugar poured over shaved ice. Their frozen lemonade is equally bad tasting. Both leave a remarkably bad after taste that I can't effectively describe other than to say it's artificial and nasty. The store itself is clean and pleasant. A bajillion flavors - Not only do they have tons of flavors, I'm a snob so when I order 50/50 and they poured the syrup on perfectly i was super psyched. 3. Groovy temperature sensitive spoons that change colors. It's the little extras that make a 4 star business earn a 5th star. 4. Cream and ice cream. You can add both. I've always been a strict old school snowball fan. No cream or ice cream for me but if you want it they have it! 5. Open until 11:00 pm all week long! Yes, sometime I NEED a snowball at 11:00 on a Tuesday night. 6. Punch card - Buy 10 get one free. 7. Party Pack - small or large party packs. Small gets you 1 bottle of syrup, 10 cups, ice, spoons, a stainless snow scoop, a stainless pour spout and little umbrellas! Large gets you 3 bottles, 3 spouts, a scoop, 25 cups, ice and spoons.
