I finally made it here. After all the hype I wanted to try this place for myself. Ambiance - adorable little old fashioned shop. We ordered at the window and there was a line. It moved quick so it gave me time to look at the menu. Service - nice people. Food - good. Flavors were clean. For me, it comes down to quality ingredients and Connie's definitely didn't skimp here. Highly recommend though if you are in the area.

Went around 9 PM and there was still a line for this place. This spot has been on my list for a while and it didn't disappoint. Pickup window went faster than the drive through but the girl was rude. Custard was really good. The consistency reminded me of McDonald's but way better and many more options. I got the cookie butter & biscoff and it was delicious. It's a big portion for cheap, I would recommend this spot!

I wasn't a frozen treat fan, but Connie's has officially converted me. The creamy texture of frozen custard is unparalleled. I get it now. The custard comes in either vanilla or chocolate, and you can have it plain or order it in the form of a concrete, sundae, shake, freeze, or float. Their toppings and mix-in options feel endless, so there's always something to like or new to try. The concept is simple, but far from boring. There's both a walk-up counter and a drive-thru. I've seen both lines get pretty long especially on weekends, but service is always polite and surprisingly efficient. I only wish the outdoor seating was a little more pleasant. It's right by the street, so cars are always loudly whizzing by and the surrounding area isn't very pleasing to behold. Nevertheless, it's nice to sit a while and enjoy your custard before it melts. - Ambiance: 3/5 - Food: 5/5 - Service: 5/5

Houston, we have a problem. Recently relocated, I'm now alot closer to Connie's. I guess this is great news for Connie's and horrible news for my doctor. In Houston, custard is somewhat of a rarity. I can name 3-4 shops in the entire greater Houston area that can get you your fix, but by far Connie's offers the most variety when it comes to custard. Concretes, signature concretes, sundays, shakes, floats, splits, pints, and ofcourse scoops, they have it all. While it's difficult to pick a treat, my tried and true is still their turtle sund, chocolate custard, and toasted pecans. There's no escaping the heat at this spot (there is no indoors), but the ice cream helps.

So good I had to come back before the end of my 4-day Houston trip! I discovered this place after craving a sweet treat after eating at Captain Tom's because it was highly rated on Google reviews. We got a Texas Tornado concrete the first time, and a Cookie Butter & Biscoff. Definitely recommend the Cookie Butter one; the little pieces of Biscoff on top were so good! Texas Tornado wasn't fully mixed well so I just got huge chunks of strawberry at the bottom. The custard is truly delectable and rich in the best way; I just got the single scoop on a waffle cone because I just wanted to enjoy the custard fully. The staff works super quick and the line moves very fast. I ordered at the pick-up window but they also have a small drive through area; I feel like its a tight space with cars coming in/out so we just park and walk in. Highly recommend for a sweet treat in the Texas heat!

I remember the first time I had Connie's 20 years ago visiting my family in Houston. It was the best frozen custard I have ever had. There's nothing like this in California and all I do is think about my next visit to Houston so I can have Connie's.

First time coming here- There was a line of cars for this place wrapped around the parking lot when we got there 30 minutes before it was about to close, that told us all we needed to know LOL! They had a drive thru and a clean, well maintained walk up window. Huge menu is on the wall with some classic toppings. Hubby & I wanted the Connie's banana split, but we couldn't get it because they ran out of containerswe were disappointed but we got our second choices. I don't remember the name but it's a banana custard with vanilla wafer super yummy 4.7/5 (I'd give it a five if it had more bananas in it!) it was not too sweet, and the flavors were well balance. My husband got the Sundae with fudge, pecans, strawberries, and bananas- he gives it a 4/5 he said it was good but he liked mine better... we paid about $16 for both custards, and you get a good amount of what you pay for. If you're looking for a simple sweet treat, I definitely recommend getting it from here!

The absolute best Custard I've ever had! I ordered a vanilla custard with a brownie, cookie dough and marshmallow cream. The brownie was warm and fudgey, the custard was creamy and silky and the topping put it all over the edge! My husband ordered a delicious cookies and cream shake. The drive through is always busy with cars in and out. Amazing place!

Can you say, AMAZING!!! Double raspberry concrete & caramel pretzel crunch with chocolate chips!!

The BEST frozen treat around! I've been coming here since I was in high school & it's just as good. Every time we have family or friends from out of town we have to bring them to Connie's! Connie's NEVER DISAPPOINTS!!!!

Wow. Price, taste, portions, speed, and service can't be beat. I've been through the drive-through and waited in line when both were long. Waiting in line is way faster even if it is long. I always get the brownie sundae and it is traditional, nothing fancy just the way I like it. Brownie, ice cream, hot fudge. I think you can also add whip cream but I always forget. Definitely not the place to go to if you are on a diet. Regardless my family loves it. 5.

Fudge Sundae with extra roasted pecans

I love CONNIE'S!!! I usually come here Saturday afternoon after getting my lashes done further down Jones road. My favorite is the fudge and caramel sundae with extra pecans - SO GOOD!!!! I think it's called JB something. I have only deviated from this once to the all fudge sundae with the brownies on the bottom, which was good as well. Always friendly service and the line moves pretty fast.

So just happened to come here on a whim! I love soft served but custard is a shot in. The dark for me. Well Connie's was definitely a win! It wasn't too thick or thin like the perfect amount of creamy and flavorful Loved that you can add your own toppings I got the regular custard with mixed nuts and heath bar. It was delicious and they mixed it so well every bite had pieces.

I love this place! I tend to come here often. The staff is always nice and fast! The custard always taste amazing. It's a very nice and chill atmosphere

She has different sizes now. A lot more variety in products. Her staff and custard is amazing. Still small but worth it to make the drive.

You may order online, in shop through a tablet, or with a person at the register. We used the register because we did not see the tablet and did not want to order ahead online. The ladies who helped us on our visit were very nice. You get a number and they call it when your made to order food is ready. We did not have to wait long. There was medium to low noisy ambiance. It was deserted when we arrived, but they have relatively loud background music. While we were eating it got pretty crowded. Mostly a lot of young people in the middle of the day on a Monday. The inside is small, seating both inside and outside are limited and close together. One lady was studying with her laptop, but there are no plugs. The breakfast sandwich is customizable. We got it on a croissant and with sausage. The eggs had a unique texture and the sandwich a unique flavor that we could not place, but both were very tasty. We also wanted a crepe, but we split the sandwich and it was sufficient. We also got a small mocha and a decaf, both were ok to good. We would definitely come back again and recommend that you give them a try for a crepe or sandwich. It is sad that a few Yelpers brought down their average to 3.8 stars due to petty and unjustified complaints such as having to pay for parking downtown. Other complaints are not the business' fault such as periodic homelessness--it is a downtown area in the US, other cities have far worse homelessness than Midtown Houston and we saw none on this visit. Additionally, complaints about takeout orders are mostly petty. Takeout is never as good as eating at the restaurant and so customers should adjust their expectations rather than dock the business stars. Nearly every recent Yelp review for this who ate at the restaurant gave 4-5 stars for food quality and customer service. Like most of the restaurants in this area it is a pretentious yuppy style place with specialized food. Although not usually our type of place (we like down to earth hole in the wall places with good food or taco truck type restaurants), Coco's is a solid 4 star restaurant for the type of place they are and they offered a 5 star experience on our visit. Again, recommend you give them a try if you are in the mood for crepes or sandwiches.
