I love Bahama Buck's! I think it's the ice that gets me every time. I have had several flavors and the only flavor that i realized doesn't pair well with my taste buds, is dill pickle. I visited the Bahama Bucks at 11300 Katy Freeway in Houston on June 2, 2024. This place looks like it's run by a pack of teenage boys because it is not clean. All of the tabletops were sticky. The floor was sticky and had visible pools of spilled drinks. One of the printed menus at the front counter was sticky. One customer in the table area had to ask that their table cleaned. I pointed out a pool of colored liquid under my companion's chair and reminded her not to put her foot in it. The irony is that when we walked into the store it smelled like commercial cleaning products. So that's not horrible but clearly the floors and tables aren't getting cleaned often enough. However, I would prefer that a place called "Bahama Bucks" smell either neutral or tropical, not commercial cleaning products. One of the menu monitors was not displaying anything. It is difficult enough already to know what to order here, and having a blank menu screen was a problem. Even if the dining area and menus were up to par, the overpriced beverages are lacking. I dislike the complicated menu becuase it's not always clear what you're getting. The menu targeted toward the higher priced combinations, blends, and toppings all listed with marketing names, so unless you ask or dig into the details somewhere else, you don't know what you're getting. I ordered the "Bahama Colada" which is described as, "Juicy pineapple fruit and creamy coconut blended with non-fat vanilla Greek yogurt make a delicious healthy smoothie." The Bahama Colada was not bad, but it had a strong tang of yogurt that dominated the coconut flavor. There was no pineapple flavor. I could detect small bits of coconut. Ultimately there was no way this drink was worth $6.89. While it might have been non-fat or low-fat, it was lacking in richness and flavor. I would not purchase this drink again. I have only been to this location a small handful of times since it's been there, maybe a decade, and now I know why: It's not clean, the prices are too high considering the dirty environment, the menu is too complicated, and the prices are too high. Sorry Bahama Bucks, you need to get the BASICS right first, and you're not doing that here. read more

Its as if I went outside in the north and scooped out a handful of soft snow and put it in a cup, but if the snow was in a clean environment. Its absolutely amazing. What makes this place even better is that their SnoCone flavors are extremely strong, and they perfectly announce what they are trying to represent. And to make it even better, they have over 100 different flavors and every single one I've had it good. They also have sodas there, where you can Mix their flavors into them, which end up tasting amazing. Some of the flavors and flavor combos I would reccomend getting there if you go are: Jamaican Rum: Super good flavor, has slight tropical nodes, and all of their alcohol flavors are completely alcohol free. Cherry: Super strong flavor of cherry, mixes well with everything Banana: An unexpected strength of banana flavor, super good to pair with other tropical fruity flavors Pina Colada: a snow cone classic, extremely good. Strawberry Cheesecake: Super good desert flavor, tastes exactly like what it says. Sugar cookie: Tastes more like a Cookie Dough flavor, but definitely encapsulates what its trying to do, a great desert option. Candycane and oreo cookie flavor, Winter Holiday only. This flavor combo tastes like a super sweat thin mint snow cone and its extremely refreshing, if you like the thin mint flavor, you'd like this combo. Sugar Cookie, Banana, with chocolate Drisel and crushed oreo cookies. This flavor tastes like a Chocolate Banana Sundae, but in the palm of your hand. It's a great desert flavor combo that you should get there. Blue Coconut, White Coconut, and Pina colada Pops. This flavor is a much more refreshing flavor mixture that gives you a great taste of the coconut you are going for. These are just some of the flavors I've had that I think are extremely good, but there's many more that are probably also great there, these flavors can also all be added to the sodas so make your flavor as you like! 1 more extra note is that, the sour patch sauce is extremely sour so if you aren't a fan of sour foods, ask to take this sauce out if it comes with the menu item you're getting, for example the Christmas tree flavor for this holiday right now has it, and in my opinion it makes it much worse, so I could you not, if you don't like sour things, ask to remove this sauce. If you do like sour things though, this will probably hit the spot for you but its not for me. This specific Bahama buck's location I frequent quite often, and I will say they have only messed up 1 time since the probably 15 times I've been here, by not fully mixing the snow up. Also, the syrup had no flavor at all. It tasted like sugar water. I was disappointed in our ices. Neither one of us took more than two bites. Unfortunately what it seems like is that the owners don't have good business sense. I understand that they cannot find people to work the store but the line for the drive-through is 10 to 20 cars deep on average taking anywhere between 20 to 30 minutes or more to get a shaved ice. There are essentially kids inside running the store and frankly don't care one bit how long it takes. If they were smart they would have them outside going car to car doing the orders and bringing them out to the cars. There are more than enough people inside to do that. I love me a good snow cone. I usually come here during lunch when it is not very crowded, so the service speed is fine. When I did come once after work to use the drive thru, the service was painfully slow to where I almost left. The interior of the store is as clean as you can get a place that serves sugar-water almost exclusively: the tables were clean but the floors were very sticky.
