Only gave four stars because of portion size. Other places offer more for the same price so I had to take away a star, but this place is GOOD. It's not too big but when I came in, there were about three or four different groups already inside. It's in a small shopping center across the street from Memorial City Mall so parking isn't the best, but not the worst either. I came in on my lunch break after seeing the great reviews and I'm happy I stopped in. Despite several groups being inside, I received my bowl super quickly and staff was attentive and kind. I like how they allow you to make your own bowl instead of ordering one with ingredients already included..makes for almost endless possibilities! I ordered an açaí bowl with strawberry and banana base with blueberries, strawberries, almonds and granola with a honey drizzle. I also liked how there were chopped almonds instead of whole ones. This place is amazing. I wish portion sizes where larger for $10 but the food was so good and I was still full after eating. Love the açaí and pitaya bowls here! I am able to choose between cup to go or bowl to go. Price is $10.99 for 5-6 inch bowl with thick açaí or pitaya base, mixed with fruit, mixed with coconut juice, and topped with granola, strawberries, coconut chips, and honey drizzle (usually my mix). You have a sheet with choices that you select, and it will take 10-15 minutes for the employees to create your bowls/cups. Between a tall Starbucks cup that runs over $6.00 and this açaí (or pitaya) bowl, I'd rather pay the extra for the health benefits. Most of the time, the cashiers are super friendly, but I've been to this place and have met, twice, one particular cashier who was not friendly, as she was very dry and curt in her replies to my questions about the choices. Between going there or going to a boba place that offers fresh fruit snacks for less of the cost, I began not going there. The first time I ever tried the place, I was lost. You have to take a card and mark what you want. I stood there looking at the board as if I could place an order there, so when I called out what I wanted, the cashier told me to get a card and mark down my ingredients. She could have told me that when she saw me coming in, like holler out, "If you want a bowl, please grab a card and mark what you want." This location is right next to our vet so we decided to stop by and grab a couple smoothies and I wish I was more impressed! My boyfriend got the morning glory and I got the Purple Rain. The Morning Glory was definitely better than the Purple Rain. I can't put my finger on it, but it was just not good tasting. Not sure if it was my taste buds, but I actually had to re-blend my smoothie at home to add more fruits and flavor (still wasn't drinkable lol). In search for a new açai bowl place, I decided to try Juicewell as it shows up when looking for açai bowls. The inside is quite pretty and it's quiet. You can custom make your own bowl to what you desire. I decided to go with an açai base with blueberry, strawberry, and banana blended with it. As toppings, I added granola and agave. The total ended up being around $11 since I added extra agave. Overall the bowl wasn't too bad, I would have gotten coconut water next time. I wish they had different milk options beside almond milk. Some of the fruits weren't properly blended which didn't really bother but it might bother some people. I noticed that their smoothies are much more popular than the bowls as I have noticed more people ordering them. In the future, I will be trying them. This place is good for those who want to be able to put more/less fruits in the smoothie bowl base. read more

JuiceWell is my favorite and go-to acai place in Houston. They do everything right and allow you to customize your own acai bowl. They give you a check-off list so you do not feel rushed at the register and I think that's a great idea. They have a variety of mix-ins of fruits and liquids to your acai bowl and also a good amount of toppings. You get a choice of 2 free toppings add-ons. I come here so often that I do not have a go-to. Every combination I've tried came out delicious. If you're not feeling an acai bowl, everything else here is a good choice! This used to be a consistent place with friendly and knowledgeable people making the drinks. The smoothies are inconsistent now, you never know what ratios of ingredients you are going to get. 1. The setup is NOT child friendly. Given the location it absolutely should be. Only tall bar height tables with tall backless bar stools inside, the only standard height table with chairs was outside. I have a small child that physically couldn't sit at the bar tables. This was VERY frustrating given the summer heat and the price paid for a smoothie bowl only to have it rapidly melt while we sweat. I expected to be ABLE to eat inside in the AC store. 2. There are MANY wasps swirling around the front door and windows above these outdoor tables. 3. There are no smaller portioned child friendly menu options. 4. The setup is scattered feeling inefficient. The juices are on display but you have to match the name to the ingredients on the board which is behind the bar. Recommend putting the ingredient list next to each juice in display. 5. Overpriced. The smoothie bowl is overpriced by several dollars when comparing same ingredients to other quality juice bars such as Juiceland etc. At closer examination the juices are organic WHEN AVAILABLE and local WHEN AVAILABLE which makes the quality questionable and hard to justify the TEN dollars for the juice! There's one thing I really really look out for when checking out a spot-- SERVICE! The lady that made my juice was so so informative and GENUINE! She knew her goods and knew the ingredients to the T! A few of the ingredients in the items I ordered was foreign to me, but with her help I became well informed (she was even kind enough to be truthful about taste). Ok so I ordered the EMERALD JUICE - it was good if and only if you like ginger. There was a hint of bitterness to this juice but that's fine she had warned me... I enjoyed the slight bitterness (I'm weird- the healthier it tastes the better I feel). Also went a bit crazy and ordered a shot - GET GLOWIN' - it is sweet and you can taste the burdock root.... don't know if it is just me but my skin looked "glowing" the next day... the color and the hydration looked on point (not sure if it was due to this shot but I am saying yes).
