Well I tried. Tried to check out a different Chinese restaurant because we always seem to go to the same places. I love orange chicken and I thought it was interesting that they had a chicken egg roll here for me to try. I did get this order via doordash and it did come hot and well packaged. The chicken egg roll as you can see in the picture was a little burned so it was really tough and I maybe took two bites out of it and called it a day on that one. The orange chicken sauce had a very particular taste to it. It didn't taste like any orange chicken I ever had before. The chicken itself was pretty good but the sauce was just off to me. The white rice that came with the meal was fresh and not overcooked. I think we'll be going back to Golden Lily. read more

Two words, Crispy Beef! This unassuming restaurant in a strip mall has the flavor. The Crispy Beef is so thin and crispy and is served on a bed of crispy rice noodles sitting in a deliciously sticky sauce. The best thing on the menu. I also highly recommend the Garlic Eggplant with Pork. A light brown sauce with chunks of eggplant, tender slices of pork, scallions and tender bamboo shoots, I like it with the brown rice. Baidu is tucked into the corner of a small shopping center in Perrysburg. The interior is pretty dated and could use some updating. We enjoyed some veggie egg rolls and hot tea to get started. The egg roll is pretty small but good. My favorite dish is the crispy beef with lo mein. You don't find it on many menus, but even if you do, it won't beat Baidu's. My husband ordered garlic pork with eggplant and brown rice, also delicious. The service is fast and friendly, but there can be a small language barrier at times. read more

While we normally enjoy Bai Du, this week's visit did not go as well. My spring rolls were warm, not hot; one person's seafood fried rice had no lobster, they ran out, they asked about giving more scallops. If they did they were very small while another person had seafood paradise and had quarter sized scallops. Service was good, except we had 2 different servers, the second came to work midway through our meal and took over, so she really did not know what we ordered. No comment. We will be back, but will ensure we get what we ordered, and that it is hot before eating. read more

Whatever it will be fine right? Nope! Missing a spring roll/egg roll. No sweet and sour, soy sauce, duck sauce or anything. Not even napkins or eating utensils. Are ya kidding me???? I had some shrimp and chicken combo. Wasn't bad until I tried the chicken and it was to dry to even eat. Way over cooked. I also did fried rice at an up charge of a few bucks. BIG mistake. It was bland, and looked just like brown rice more or less. It wasn't what I would have called fried rice. We also got the chicken w/cashews. My wife said it was ok nothing special and the white rice was blah. We ended up doctoring both of our meals up. Not some place we would recommend or return to. I have yet to be disappointed when dining at Baidu. They always have seats, I never have to wait long, and the food is always tasty. While some of the dishes may not look as you expected, they are very tasteful and the sauce is excellent. This is no standard buffet style food, it is cooked on the spot for you and it is served in a stylish display. To avoid confusion, I state that there is no buffet, I was merely comparing the tastes and quality. I highly recommend ordering from the chef's specials options, as they are the most unique and rich in flavor. If you dine before 15:00, you can benefit from the extremely affordable and worthy lunch specials. As for drinks, they have tea, and refillable soda. Fast service, quality food, very affordable options, and never any wait for seating. Baidu is one of the better Asian dining choices in the area. I am not sure if there is WiFi, as it seems to need a Time Warner sign in? If you have connect to the nearby American Table WiFi, you will be able to reach it. read more

Lee's in Perrysburg was closed. I think they are on vacation and so looking across the street, I saw this place and thought, why not? Ugh! Portions were small for a Chinese restaurant. Food quality was less than marginal. I ordered Happy Family for $13.00. It consisted of 1 piece of shrimp and pork that had grissel running through it. I could only eat half of the piece of pork and could not chew through the rest of the piece. I told the waitress as I paid the bill with the manager less than 3 feet away. She responded "Oh really?" No offer to take it off my check, no apology, no response from the manager. Will not return to this place. Hurry home Lee's so we can get some decent Chinese Food. read more

My husband I get this a lot. Its the only decent chinese food place in the area. That being said, it is MUCH better eating in the restaurant than getting takeout, however, we almost never eat in. The food is well priced and nice proportions. I always get the hunan precious extra spicy and it is by far the best in the area. My husband always changes what he gets but its always pretty good. Baidu search engine is admittedly one I use on a daily basis. It truly is the creme de la creme of search engines overseas. Baidu Restaurant? Not so much. The only commonality I see between Baidu stock prices and Baidu entree prices is its overinflation. Tucked in a small strip club off of Dixie Hwy, the restaurant is easy to miss, especially with American Table (next door) overshadowing this establishment. I'd like to think of Baidu as a glorified Magic Wok with the aforementioned overinflated prices. My parents and I chose dishes from the so-called Chef's specialties list. Whoever put the list together must have recently graduated from Chinese Food for Beginners 101. The sweet and pungent chicken was reminiscent of sweet and sour chicken -- same sauce, different color (orange.) It wouldn't have been so bad if the chicken had been so thinly sliced that each bite I took of the dish was fried breading. The orange beef was slightly better than the previous dish, but failed miserably in the crispy department. Lastly, the Szechuan War Bar. I honestly could find better Szechuan dishes at the mall food court. While the food was a huge flop, service was quite good. Because we had ordered from the Chef's specialties menu, the food took longer than normal to prepare. If you're one to settle for generic Chinese food, you might enjoy Baidu. My family loved this place for a long time. Until last Saturday evening. Restaurant empty when we arrived and no other table came in. We arrived close to 9:00 in think. ordered veggie fried rice with no mushrooms, no onions and no cabbage . Waiter entered no carrots instead of no cabbage so we had to pick out the cabbage. One order of pineapple fried rice no egg. Guess what came with LOTS OF EGG. One order crispy chicken and hot & sour soup (it's good here), guess what didn't get rung in - yup the soup. The waiter (with glasses) THINKS he is so good he didn't write our order down. Resulting in 3 out of 3 dinners wrong. When I talked to the night manager (a young man) he was "sorry". On way our I told him he should have made some jester of good faith with the bill and told the waiter he isn't all that and should write orders down. During my days as a restraurant manager I would never have let someone walk out with an experience like this without probably a gift certificate so they would come back and try us again. So sad as this was an excellent restraurant at one time. Makes me think that the manager I encountered wasn't the person running the Sylvania location that closed down. Maybe..... Please check out the health departments last 3 inspections then go elsewhere. I am even more convinced the young manager I encountered is the reason for closing the Sylvania location and this location to follow. What a shame read more

This is a lovely, inexpensive Chinese food. Will you see any of these foods in China? Unlikely, but as Americanized Chinese takeout this is one of the best. Large portions, actual flavor instead of salty mush you see at most takeouts, friendly service, and reasonable prices. Food was good for a American Chinese joint. Service was fine and the place was very clean. My mom gets a reaction to msg and luckily she only had a bite of my left overs. I had beef something. I am more into dim sum then the run of the mill Chinese. My Chinese friend wasn't impressed. I love the sizzling rice soup and the scallion pancakes! The Mu Shu is also great. They actually give you Chinese pancakes to wrap it unlike most places!! A long time ago, I walked in and the one guy ordered party trays. They gave him the trays in raw chicken boxes. We had dinner here last night as my daughter had been craving their beef with green beans for awhile now! And they did not disappoint! Our waiter was very friendly and offered some suggestions as we were trying to decide what to order. I had Hunan chicken and my hubby had the triple delight. We had egg rolls to start which were fresh, hot and yummy! We also ordered a big pot of hot tea because believe it or not it was cold outside at 830pm. And with the AC on, we wanted to warm up. We loved all of our dishes, just enough spice and lots of veggies. I must say that their beef with green beans is amazing due to the flavor as I kept stealing bites of it from my daughter! Our only complaint is that our entrees do not stay hot (temperature) for long. I don't know if it's due to the AC but maybe they need to think about serving the food extra hot or using covers for the plates. Seriously, you call it Chinese food?! I spent 28 years in China and fortunately have tried so much food from different regions there.The so-called Chinese food here is definitely not acceptable. I can even call it so BAD. My wife and I thought surely we wasted money. Okay, maybe I should be a bit nicer since the waiter was pretty friendly after all. Let's put it in this way: they serve kinda Chinese-style food, but not much close to authentic at all. Learnt: If a Chinese restaurant does not offer chopsticks or at least as an option, probably you should not expect much. I did not realize I should have put zero expectation until I saw the food. Right, even just while looking at the dishes, we knew they were going to give my tongue a hard time. The Indonesian fried rice was fine or passable. However, the "twice cooked pork" not only tasted disappointing, but also was not prepared as it meant to be. That one only share the name with the "normal" one. Well, you can argue that at a corner in China, people might call what they served by that name. However, that should have very low chance, and normally no one link the name with that thing. The essential problem with this pork dish is, in fact, not about the way or skill they used to cook, but more fundamentally the main ingredient is WRONG. At least, I have never got that with the name across China no mater in very nice restaurants or little street-side stores. In fact, it can be called stir-fried Cantonese BBQ pork with some veggie if more properly. But "twice cooked pork" is a totally different dish from that and should be much tasty. I don't think that is a translation mistake. Please use pork belly, slice and boil it, then stir fried with veggie (typically leeks). And please save some soy sauce, don't mislead people that soy sauce is the key for Chinese cuisine. (I saw an lady was asking for "black sauce" in another very authentic Chinese restaurant, because her properly cooked dish did not look dark. Sorry, but what in my mind was "This poor lady must have been served with wrong/fake things normally.") About the Szechuan veggie, I would say never heard or tried. Again, my eyes, nose and tongue just told me this time curiosity is not necessary nor leading to good experience. Sorry, out of word and energy to describe the taste and feel. =( Overall, nice waiter but bad yet weird dishes. First visit is also the last visit. BTW, my wife said the dishes I cook are 100X better conservatively.
