Arrived about 40 minutes before closing to order takeout. The lady couldn't hide in her face the fact she had to stop to take my order and wasn't happy about it. I will rate this from a food perspective, not from ambiance or tableside service which I will address below. We have eaten in 3 times and done take-out once. The food has been excellent. Crispy shrimp had large shrimp which were indeed crispy, tasty, done perfectly with a sweeter but excellent sauce. Tonight I had Beef and Mushrooms and had them add Green Beans. The sauce could have had a bit more flavor but that's being nit picky. It was quite good, the beef was tender and the beans crisp and flavorful. The mushrooms were large and fresh. I have had a couple other dishes which were equally as good. My wife has had their Vegetable Deluxe twice which had a wide assortment of fresh veggies done perfectly. Both times she asked that they add Tofu which was stir fried and done nicely as well. There are always people waiting for take-out which tells the story of their success. I would say their eggrolls are below par which would take slightly from the above score but not enough to lower it to a 4. There is limited seating (5 tables) and during cold weather it can make a difference where you sit. You order online or at the counter and they will bring the meal to your table. I recommend that you try items off their Chef's Specialty list as these are some of their more authentic offerings. All the non 5 star reviews are coming from non Asians... do what you want with that information. Came here with a Chinese friend and we loved the home style dishes from the authentic menu. I can't speak for how the Americanized menu items like General Tso's chicken or fried rice tastes, and I don't really care to because there's like 30+ of those places in Toledo already. This place has the best authentic stuff, and I say this in comparison to Spicy Asian kitchen or BM Chen's authentic menu. Its unfortunate downfall is the cramped dine in seating options - you probably won't be able to bring a nice big crowd and do family style like you can at BM Chen's. What a shame too because this food tastes wayyy better fresh off the wok rather than taken out. In short, come here for the authentic food. This place is temporarily closed till July 4th for vacation. Came across this place when driving back to Detroit from Kentucky few weeks back. Returned last week to find it closed for vacation. This review is for the previous visit. We had ordered the Dan Dan noodles, Boiled fish and Kung pao Chicken. Dan Dan noodles soaked in bright chili oil and pepper was a slurpy adventure. The best egg rolls in a 20 mile radius. The woman who takes the orders is SO rude and seems just generally angry every time we have gone there. The other food is average. I go back even with the grumpy lady, so that should say something. They are also out of a lot of dishes when we go. Shrimp is rarely available. The orange chicken is decent but not great. There is often a lot of vegetables compared to meat. So, you will lose out if you're not a big veggie person. I'm pretty sure the only reason I keep going back is for the egg rolls. read more

Looking for some Chinese take out and we were lucky to stumble upon this little gem. They have an Americanized menu and also an authentic Chinese menu as well. I decided to try the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce ($7) because not many places have this dish but it is so delicious! Here, they make it a little more watery then what I like, but they had huge shrimp in there! And they were fresh too! Probably about 7-8 large shrimp in there along with some pork, peas, and carrots. The bf tried the Szechuan Beef ($7) and that was super flavorful. Tender bits of beef with mixed vegetables. And the to go containers are so cute and I will definitely be reusing them! I wish we had stayed to eat because over the next 15 minutes while we ate our food because this placed filled up! Tons of Asians came and started ordering from the authentic menu so we will definitely have to get this next time. The Crab Ragoon was a little better but the Chicken Lo Mein was excellent. When we sat down they made it a point to tell us the had a shorter take out menu. There were several other dishes on the larger menu not on the take out menu. Next time I will keep the original menu. I think it has a more authentic cuisine that is not Americanized for takeout. I noticed a lady at another table with her five year old daughter. They had a huge china pot in the center of the table and kept taking portions out of the pot to eat. We tried to get a small foam cup and ended up having to do without because the waitress couldn't understand. We also ended up with an additional meal because of confusion, and were charged for it . If you're looking for fancy, go elsewhere. You're eating on plastic plates with foam cups for soup. It's also a small place, only a half dozen tables. The food was ok, but nothing great. My boyfriend and I absolutely love Asian cuisine, so of course we had to give YaYa a try. We both agreed it's about a 3.5-4 out of 5. Not the best we've had, but certainly not the worst! We tried a bunch of our faves. I will say that the egg rolls were excellent. Wonton soup definitely had a taste I've never had before and my boyfriend loved the broth. He got the egg drop and liked it. For our entrees I got the Almond Boneless Chicken which was ok. He got the Chicken fried rice and of course enjoyed it because fried rice is just about his favorite meal ever! The ladies working the counter and delivering the food were very friendly and kind! First, a helpful note for anyone ordering online: BeyondMenu, their method of online ordering, says that they only take cash. This is not true. They decided not to set up online credit card payment, but they will still take your card once you get to the store (Visa, Master, and Discover). This is a take-out Chinese place. I am rating this as a take-out Chinese place, and that is what it should be understood as. They have your Cantonese staples (General Tso's, Szechuan anything, egg drop soup, etc.), as well as an authentic menu with adventurous items like tripe, beef tendon, mustard greens and more. Compared to your average Chinese takeout, the sauces are the same flavors you've come to take easy comfort in, but the meats and veggies are all much fresher than you've come to expect. Nothing tastes like it's out of a frozen mix or anything like that. Whole pieces of flavorful mushrooms, celery, peppers, etc. Freshly sauced fried rice (occasional patches of white hidden amidst the brown. None of that eerily homogenous yellow texture) Lots of egg in the egg drop soup. I have not tried the authentic menu yet, but it all sounds tasty. Keep in mind, though, that the Americanized dinners come with rice, and the authentic dinners, while very large in portion and definitely worth their price, do not. Be prepared to pay quite a bit if you want an authentic entree and some rice. Overall, everything I expect and more from a Chinese takeout. read more

Searched high and low for the perfect Chinese take out. We have tried 3 other places that people were saying was "the best in town" but it didn't live up to our standards.
