Golf course is great. Owner /manager is a piece of work. Very unpleasant and rude. Also they will take water away from you on a hot day if you try to bring your own. Money is king here. The owner says I threw a fit. Actually he did when he heard I was telling a couple guys about another course. They wanted to avoid getting caught behind a tournament. He came into the bar and shook me down in front of everyone. Instead of taking me aside if he had a problem. I simply left. And came in the next day to tell him I would not be back. I love the golf course and spent thousands there every year. But I'm not going to be treated like that. I do recommend Bailey Creek to people still. It's a good track. read more

Oh we stayed in a cottage over looking the driving range. It was just beautiful. Liked the porch on the front. Not so much the unit with a side porch. Beautifully decorated. Very comfortable beds!!!! I've gone up to Lake Almanor since I can remember, but this is the first time I've played here. Fun course, well-maintained, and had nobody in front of or behind us for most of the day. I'm not much of a golfer, but it was forgiving enough for somebody like me. read more

Had a great time at this well-maintained course. Pace of play was not ideal. Rough is thick and will slow your ball substantially. Try and keep it straight and long. Lots of dog legs and character. One negative experience was calling in our lunch order and being told at the turn that they didn't get to make it. Instead of club sandwiches, they offered us hot dogs. I will return. read more

Bailey Creek is the most beautiful course around. Course conditions are great, fun to play. The Bar and food are great. Love the pizza's and prime rib night. The service and staff were outstanding! Objective: The hunt for the best Bloody Mary. Yes it really is an objective. Wherever you go, the eternal hunt for the best Bloody Mary should be a goal everyone undertakes. Service - prompt, friendly and attentive. View - spectacular. Late afternoon (3pm) patio will be in partial shade. Adjacent to the putting practice area. Gorgeous setting. As a seasoned golfer I have played golf all over the west coast and I can confirm this course is special. The course is inviting and always in tip top shape. Usually the early months of the season (April and May) there might be some green issues depending on the snow that season but the staff is all over it and it gets dialed in right away. The guys in the pro shop are top notch along with the young guys they are grooming... Awesome place, put it on the "must play list" for sure. read more

If you look under 40 don't go, they will move your tee time without asking so that staff can squeeze in their family first. The "course Marshall" will also be only following you to comment and play his gUiTaR on your shots regardless of his adult son and friend playing off pace and shanking balls. My husband and I have been going to Bailey Creek for years. It's a short 2 hour drive from Reno, the perfect length for a little getaway! We have stayed at the cottages twice, and golfed at the golf course numerous times. I'm going to review the course and the cottages together for the benefit of the golfers. While you CAN reserve tee times online, you cannot reserve a cottage online. However, give Ronnie a call - he's super nice and helpful, and he'll answer all of your questions and get your reservations taken care of. Golf: Full disclosure: my husband is definitely the golfer in our family. I'm more of a 9 hole, par 3 golfer...but I do really enjoy golfing here. The setting is beautiful - we often see deer and other wildlife. The holes are diverse - short/long, a couple water hazards, lots of sand traps. Some holes are a little too long for me, but no biggie - I just start halfway through the hole! So to all of the men out there who have a hard time getting your wives out on the course with you, this course is definitely lady-friendly! They have a really beautiful putting green and driving range, too. Cottages: I really love these cottages! They are located at the top of the driving range. There are a couple different sizes. We have stayed in the smaller one, but it's really a great size. It has a huge bathroom with a jacuzzi tub, separate shower and WC and dual sinks. There is a kitchenette with a small fridge, microwave, sink, coffee maker, and cupboards and drawers with dishes and silverware! The room has a nice large bed, a couch and a table with chairs. There is a large TV, and a BBQ on the patio that looks out on the driving range. Each cottage also has a garage (shared with another unit). My wife and I wanted to extend our sincere thank you for continuing to make Bailey Creek Golf Course our 'home course away from home'. We love the course and the area and enjoy the customer service from the Bailey Creek pro shop to the restaurant staff. I was injured pretty severely from an errant golf shot in May. A special thank you to your PGA Head Golf Professional Ronnie Theobald. He has always greeted us like friends even though we do not live locally. On the day I was injured, he was attentive to getting emergency services there. He subsequently followed up as to how we were doing over the next few weeks as I was recovering. Three buddies and myself went up for this past weekend for a get away trip. We played Bailey twice over the weekend. It was absolutely stunning. The course was is in great shape. One of my buddies has never played Bailey before and wants to come back. Ev was the starter and was such a blast to chat with. We will be back next year for our annual guys golf trip! read more

Very nice course. I checked with course about club rentals, they confirmed they had a full set! Not the case, disappointing to say the least. Great course. Great staff. Great environment. When you want to get away and enjoy a challenging day of golf this is the place. I have played this course for a number of years and it keeps getting better. Unfortunately my scoring doesn't. Midweek is the best time if you can make it then. The course is well laid out and in good condition. However, our experience with the pace and subsequently the golf pro (?) was very poor. There were only 70 or so golfers playing, but we had to wait on every tee for at least one group and often two. Having a 5 hour+ round in October with only 70 golfers on the course is inexcusable. After the round, to asked the pro why there wasn't a marshall or someone to monitor the play. He took no responsibility, told us they don't guarantee play time, offered no future discount or other reason to return. In essence, he said, "tough s--t." read more
