My family and I have been renting jet skis around the globe for years, and not once did anyone perform a post-use inspection. I have no problem with them performing a post-use inspection, but if you are going to do that, you need to also do a pre-use inspection in front of us. We were on the lake, away from debris and the shore, yet she said the jet ski sucked up something and was damaged. We were charged an additional fee for parts and labor for repairs. The thing is, if you didn't perform a pre-use inspection in front of the customer, how do we know this isn't previous damage? Do they do this to all unsuspecting customers? Who knows. Lesson learned for next time.

The rocks are along the water in a good portion of the spots around the lake. We camped over the 4th of July holiday and found there to be only a few issues that didn't make the stay a complete hit. The spiders in the area were so bad. Harmless, but man, everything seemed to get spiders on it, and we brought some home. The power was out one night until midnight and then the campground cut power around 3:00 until 7:00ish a few of the days. We took the full hookups seriously and didn't bring a backup generator. We highly suggest brining one or solar panels to get you by during the extra hot portions of the day. Also, an additional note. They offer tent spots and cabins at North Shore Campground. We had access to one of the cabins during our stay, which were very nice.

We drove two hours to come paddle boarding, so I was extremely disappointed when we could not find the location. When I called the number, the owner informed me that the website was not supposed to sell tickets because they are closed on the weekend. Despite this website error, she sensed the disappointment in my voice and agreed to rent a couple of boats out to me anyway! She was extremely extremely kind and helpful the entire time and her husband and son came to help us out! Even on fathers day! To the owners: We sincerely sincerely appreciate you all. I knew that there was nothing to lose- only knowledge and experience to gain! Shawna right off the bat was super communicative, called me to give me the meeting address specifically. Easy to find, in a warm welcoming neighborhood in Lakehead. We walked down to the shore (very short, less than an 1/8 of a mile) to a paddle board waiting for me on the shoreline. We had a private lesson- so we had time to connect and chat, completely embracing the lake around us and feeling out our boards together. When we began our practice, she was SO patient, SO instructive, and SO supportive. Being an inspiring yogi myself, it's so comforting to have instructors that really know their craft and be able to teach it to others. Admirable at the least. Overall a Wonderful experience, lots of laughs mixed with a very knowledgeable practice. Would 10/10 recommend for anyone looking to try something new, with friends or by yourself! I booked a "beginners" class. If a person could know "less than nothing" about the sport, this is me. "Dan", the instructor provided the equipment needed. Boat, paddle and life vest all provided. He had folks cancel, and so there was just me. Yet, instead of calling and canceling the class, he drove all this way just so I could have my class. Who does this? Getting past the how grateful I was, onto the review. I was a bit leary at my age and weight, if I would survive an hour. (class was scheduled for 7 hrs). I was just going to go as long as I could. This man has been doing this for decades and his mannerism and making sure to go over safety things, and how to get out of the boat should I roll over was a comfort. Parents... trust this teacher with your children. I'm 6' and 215 lbs. So, if someone was going to "wobble", and fall over, it would be me! When we went into the water, Dan had "the patience of Job". Then... I "got it". I was actually out there making the boat move and with a little more time, making it move where I wanted it to! This was the most fun I've had in 2 decades! When the parts of my body that haven't moved like that got a bit sore, no problem to rest, or go to shore for a break. Dan is a professional no doubt. I cannot recommend more highly if you've ever wanted to learn, then go to the website. He offers "white water, and sea" classes as well for the more adventurous. If your like me, and just want to "paddle around local waters", he's will teach you how to SAFELY do so. I'll be doing this alone, so that was huge for me. Hope your found this helpful. :)

He has the innate ability to describe a possibly confusing technique in a deliberate understandable way. I have been kayaking for over 20 years, but my kayaking skills have soared after taking several classes. I always felt safe with Dan looking out for me, even in perilous water - and most important, it was fun. I highly recommend Dan to anybody who is just getting into water sports, or is wanting to advance to the next level.
