It is hard to actually put into words how thankful I am to Doug at Bailey's Entertainment Group. My daughter was modeling as a hobby during Covid, but a fashion industry celebrity started following her on Instagram and others did too. Other scouts. Other models. Other brands. Like, notable verified accounts (before there was such a thing as paid verified subscriptions). It was overwhelming! She went from 5k to 18k followers in a week. Now she has 25k. And... I absolutely didn't know what to do about it. Brands were reaching out wanting free posts on her IG in exchange for products. More and more people wanted to collaborate. And every time... EVERY time, I reached out to a fashion agency or DM'd any of the fashion industry followers to ask if they had advice on next steps - I got no replies. I then started emailing agencies and firms asking if they provide general consultations... that I would literally pay for their time just to ask questions because I didn't know how to help my daughter. I was feeling rather helpless. The fashion industry is not my industry. I worked at a nonprofit all my adult life. I can give you all the information you want about social services. But, fashion? Not at all. And then Doug came into my life. He followed my daughter's IG. She went to a Zoom interview and the following day submitted her audition videos. The Zoom interview started as a group of about 12 applicants with information about the industry and Bailey's Entertainment Group before breaking out into 1-on-1 interviews. One question I remember Doug asking the group is... "who thinks they have a good headshot?" Almost everyone rose their hand. He then said, "to get the job, you need an excellent headshot. Because as you can see, everyone has a good one. You have to stand out." That makes sense, right? It's a very saturated market. If his agency represents you, will he tell you that you'll need an excellent headshot? Absolutely.... Because you do. Will he make you pay thousands of dollars to take classes like one company asked me to do? Absolutely not. He will be (1) honest, (2) informative, (3) supportive, and most of all - (4) real. In the end, I didn't need to pay a consultation fee. Someone with experience just decided to give a girl's mom the information she needed to help navigate her daughter's career. And that act, that help that no one else would give, was priceless. If he chooses you to audition, then he's already invested in you and will work to promote you. We met Bailey's Entertainment Group at the Barbizon talent competition and were signed by the agency within just a few weeks. My son, Sean, got his very first job with Bailey's shortly after, it was a shoot for Vero Beach Disney Resort, and to our surprise, he was paid in less than 30 days. We flew from San Antonio, Texas to Orlando for the shoot, and Doug stayed in touch the entire time--checking on our travel, making sure we arrived safely, and confirming we made it back home without any issues. Our first (Open Call with Doug) and ongoing (Shoot with Comfort Keepers) was very professional and actually fun. Mike, was extremely helpful in that he kept us (my husband and driver), up to date on what I would need for the day and what to expect on the set. Our interactions were always positive and helpful . I can't wait to be called again. I like the pay too! I found the production team to be professional, friendly and helpful. The director took his time to explain exactly what he wanted on various shots. The makeup lady fixed my hair beautifully and applied my makeup professionally. Doug and Mike helped me land a shoot with Chick-fil-A and it was an absolutely incredible experience. I got to participate in Chick-fil-A's first clothing drop and meet some amazing people.
