We were lucky to find Baileys Blind Repair when we needed to replace the pull cords for our cellular blinds! Luckily we were able to take in a snippet of cord and know which style of blinds we had. They were able to sell is the parts we needed for a reasonable cost and give us some pointers on how to fix our problem. Referred by Home Depot, my father went into this store to restring a motorized blind. He dealt with Neal at the reception desk and like most reviews you see in Yelp my dad received poor customer service. He was initially quoted for $350 ($150 for new motor and $200 for labor) as you can see in the image attached. Neal said that new motors are expensive and it will be couple days to order the new parts. To his surprise, he received a call that the repair is complete the very next day. When picking up the fixed motorized blind, my dad saw that Neal installed a used motor (obvious from the discolored plastic casing and random black marker marks on the casing). When my dad inquired, Neal said that he never committed to install a new motor, he will not provide any warranty for the motor, and he will be happy to take the installed motor out if he is not willing to pay. Disgruntled, my dad reluctantly agreed as Neal was very aggressive for a simple question when the agreement did not match the expectation. We needed 2 blinds repaired so they were completed at different times. One was chewed through by a dog so the wooden slats needed to be replaced and that one was going to take longer. The other would not open/close and was fixed very quickly. These wooden blinds were a custom order (and hella expensive!) when we first got them because all of the windows in our house are odd sizes so we did not want to re-purchase new custom blinds. We paid what was originally quoted - with a good surprise. The blinds that wouldn't open/close were repaired first. My husband was so excited to get them back that he cut right through one of the strings when unwrapping them! He was so mad at himself and waited for the other ones to be finished to admit what happened and to see if it could be fixed. When we went to pick up the other finished blinds he admitted his mistake and the owner was so kind. Owner said it actually happens a lot when people are tearing the plastic wrap so he even had a sign on the wall about not using scissors. It turned out that the string that was cut was not a crucial one and an easy fix so the owner took care of it while my husband waited. He was able to fix the cut string free of charge. (This story was relayed by my husband who never follows through with yelp reviews but this is a small business owner that showed great customer service by helping with our mistake!) read more

My awful painters must have literally pulled my shades off my windows bending the mechanisms that hold the shades and attach to the window. Because my shades were over 15 years old I feared that I would not be able to fix them. From the moment I called Baileys I knew I was in Good hands. When was the last time someone charged you LESS than the estimate. They did a beautiful job in a timely fashion.. It required less work than originally figured and they adjusted the price. I brought in my custom Roman blinds for a broken clutch assembly. They told me right away that this was going to be a hard to find part. They were right. They didn't have it but researched it online and gave me all the details I needed to call the manufacturer direct for a replacement part. Very kind and helpful. If I could give negative stars - I would. Our wood blind would not tilt and there was no one in the White Mountains who does blind repairs so my husband drove 7 hours (round trip) to get this repaired at Baileys (Phoenix location). When he returned and reinstalled the blind the wood slats were not level and point to the right hand corner. Spoke to Neal who said we could bring the blind in and someone would look at it. When I explained that we live 189 miles away from Phoenix his response was that it was our problem that we chose to get this repaired where we did and that he doesn't "do mail in business". So apparently the business model seems to be: I'll take your money and if we don't repair it correctly that's on you. read more

Wow was I happy to find out about this place. I had two broken cellular shades and I ended up taking those two and another similar one (which I assumed would be breaking soon) to get restrung. Tech called me when in the house and I told him which window had the non-working blind since I was not home. I asked him to call me back after he completed the work. 5 minutes later he called and said it was done. I said "What in 5 minutes?" I asked if he replaced a part and he said no but he fixed it and it is now working. I said I was leery and worried that he didn't fix it (turns out I was right!). I couldn't understand why it was such a secret that he wasn't telling me what he did to fix it. I asked a couple of times and I was told nothing except "it was fixed". I asked if we continue to have problems will he come back and fix it for free - he said yes. That was not the truth! We continued to have the same problems within that month. I called to have him return. They wanted to charge us another trip fee of $95 says it is their "policy" even though it was their fault for not fixing it the first time! I think this is a scam to make more money from customers. This so called "policy" is unethical and unfair. They can't expect the customers to pay for their mistakes. Plus they told me if it was found to be a different problem that I would have to pay for those new repairs and parts as well. It sounded to me like I was being set me up for another scam. Nothing had changed with the blinds, it was the same problem we had prior. I did not have them return. I reported them to Better Business Bureau and my credit card company. I have since hired another blind repair company who has correctly fixed the problem. They informed me that they found the previous technician had only put a dab of glue on the corner of the cord release mechanism which explains his 5 minute visit, why he wouldn't tell me what he actually did and why it was not fixed. I can only tell you my experience with Bailey's Blinds and hope that it saves others from being scammed. A bad reputation will be harder to fix than if they had just fixed my blinds in the first place. read more

This is a little over due but here it is. I had a big custom blind approx. 7 ft. That had gotten separated and crunched, also the gear mechanism was broke. This is a $ 700 replacement. Had my family room painted and the painters removed my window blinds and in doing so broke a very small piece that kept tension on the cord. My supplier offered me to sell another for there was nothing I could do. So I searched yelp to find someone who would be interested in this type of repair work knowing the money is in selling the new stuff and not fixing the older products. KUDOs to YELP for they had Baileys Blind Repair listed. I read the reviews and with some trepidation for there were some rough ones however the OWNERS stated to "try them" for they fixed the issues of customer service and they have a new team running the mesa store! So I did and I AM GLAD I DID. I called and dealt with Neal Meyer who was very professional, responsive, helpful and honest with me on my window covering for there are so many and types out there. I got lucky and after sending them photos they felt confident, but never guaranteed, that they thought they could help me out. So we setup an appointment and their Tech. Representative showed up promptly at 9 30am and got to work. 30 minutes later my 4 year old window fashion covering was brand new and working. The Tech was cordial, polite, masked up and right on task with the repair. Additionally, weeks earlies I had order three new window blinds from the same on line company which arrived on Monday. I approached Neal Meyer about while the Tech was here could he do a quick install understanding I would strip and clean the old window blinds and window sills. Neal said sure and gave me a very nice rate which I am greatly appreciative. So at the end of 90 minute visit from Baileys my arcadia sliding door window blinds are working brand new and my new window blinds in my bedrooms look great! Awful company. I called to get a quote on replacing the tilters on 4 blinds at my house. I was told initially it would be a $65 trip fee and $5-$10 per blind for the parts. Ok so I will be looking at around $100 for the total repair cost? Yes. They told me yes twice, that I would be looking at right around $100 to get all 4 blinds tilters repaired. Sweet, let's do it. Got the repair scheduled. The night before, repair guy called me and told me we needed to reschedule. Ok, we rescheduled. They show up today while I am at work to repair the blinds. Takes him 30 minutes to replace all 4 tilters. He hands my wife a bill for $245. She let's me know, and I naturally am livid. They told me multiple times this repair would be right around $100. I call to complain and ask wtf happenend to the $100 quote I was given, and the woman on the phone could care less. She says she doesn't know who told me that, but that shouldn't have been the price because the parts are $45 each, not $5-$10 each. There was no winning with this woman, she offered nothing to make things right. I barely got a "sorry" out of her. She said if I didn't know who quoted me the price, there wasn't much she could do. I had been putting off repair of my 6' wide wood blinds thinking it would be costly and I'd be blindless for at least a few days. Yesterday I brought my blinds in to Bailey's to get the broken cord repaired. In less than a minute Neil identified that the cord wasn't actually broken but had just come loose. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I called and spoke to the installer who came and took my blind in for repair. He said he would return with the correct parts to put my 6ft. Valance back up. I call him on his cell phone repeatedly leaving messages. Now this man is no longer working for the company and the owner yells at me on the phone for never calling him before. Stopped in to their store on a Friday to have a blind that I had oredered via the internet. Unfortunately I mis measured and needed a 1/4" cut so it would fit. The l!ady at the desk quoted us $50 and said it would be ready for pick up next Wed or Thurs. Seemed a little long but there wasn't a real rush. My wife called Wednesday and the blind was not ready. On Thursday she received a call asking for her authorization to cut the blind! She asked the individual who called "why are you asking for my approval? I already gave it to the counter person when I dropped it off." He said he works at a separate location and did not receive the blind until yesterday when it was delivered to his shop. The wife was now furious since the original counter person never told us that they do not repair on site and that they ship all blinds to be cut down once a week which meant she lied to us about when it would be ready! Bottomline is that the wife told the man who called not to cut the blind and return it the shop so she could pick it up and take it to another business. When the wife went to the store she never even received a "sorry" or anything that would be considered part of good customer service, they just sat there silently and gave her the blind. NEVER use these company!!!!!! nOTHING WORSE THAN LYING TO A CUSTOMER!!!! read more

I dropped my blinds off to be repaired right before my son was born. The string was broken and I wanted to be able to close the blinds in his nursery. I went in 3 months later since every time I called they were either extremely rude or promised to call back and never did. My blinds were sitting there completely untouched and they swore they would get right on it and call me when they were done. My son is now 6 months old and we still don't have blinds. I called one more time since they've had them for 7 months at this point and the guy that answered told me they were no longer responsible for my blinds since it had been more than 45 days. He then told me he wasn't going to argue with me and hung up on me. I'm sending my husband down there when he gets off work to pick them up. Hopefully they still have them and we can take them somewhere that is actually capable of repairing them in a timely manner. I would NEVER suggest taking your blinds here. Absolutely terrible service, completely unprofessional and rude. I would have given zero stars if that were possible. UPDATE** Neal told me he cannot find my blinds and it is my fault that I left them there that long and it's my problem now. He said of I need to take him to court then go ahead. I am disgusted that he could treat a customer like that. The fact that they are even still in business is beyond me. This type of service is deplorable to say the very least. I have received the worst customer service by this company. Lowes contracts with them so if you order blinds from Lowes you will have to deal with this company for your installation!! Think twice. The first time they came to the house to measure for blinds they forgot to measure for the valences. It took a week from them to come out a second time to do that. When I tried to schedule my appointment for install, Pam at Baileys won't do it and said she'd have to call Lowes and then hung up on me when I asked to speak to Neil, the owner. I was dumbfounded. I was told one of my valences would need modifications because of a curved wall. When it arrived, Neil didn't even try to make any modifications, just said it won't work. When I told Neil of my frustrations and that I'd be writing a letter and a review, he raised his voice and said "Why would you do that? Why would you want to jeopardize my job?" Great service! I had to have my solar shades cut down 2" (don't ask!). Other companies were not able to do this for me. Paul at Baileys Blinds not only performed this difficult service but did so in a timely manner. He also fixed one of the shades that got damaged during installation (again,don't ask!) which saved me having to buy another shade. All around five stars!! read more
