This is the third time I have used these folks, and I think it will be the last. I submitted two suit coats and two pairs of slacks for next day service. I asked them to starch everything, as my last dry cleaning with them left my jackets limp. I came in the next day, and my clothes were not done yet, not a big deal as I was a bit early. I took the half hour drive today to pick everything up. As soon as I saw my coats I pointed out the lapels had not been pressed, and the jackets were again limp and not pressed properly. Wrinkles in the arms and on the back; again. She did offer to fix it, but I would have to wait until Monday. The counter lady was pleasant, but was the same lady who took my order initially when I stressed the need for a starch treatment, and did not ensure this happened. When I pointed out the problems she stated they do not press lapels unless requested. The lapel had NO crease in it now, she stated they flat pressed it. This made no sense at all, why would you take the crease out of a lapel. She was happy to charge me full price, and did not offer any discount or offer to repair the problem in a reasonable amount of time. She knew I needed the suits today. $50 for 4 items, with none of my requests honored. My jackets both have white fluff and hair all over them also. To make it worse, my coats now smell awful also. I do believe I am done with them; two chances to get it right and they failed. read more

If you're looking for customer service this is NOT the place to go. On top of that it takes them 2-3 days to dry clean one uniform. The last uniform I got back from them looked like they threw it in the wash and hung it up to dry in a windstorm. Could have done a better job with my eyes closed. Will not be coming back. ALSO, after going into this business and asking for a refund they refused to give me one, said they would talk to the business owner for a possible refund. Well after 3 weeks of calling and waiting to get my money back they never reached out or followed through. PS, despite what their counter review states these pants already came properly fitted so I never once requested for an "alternation." Was not to happy with service they provided. I left my stuff to be washed. Everything was good, but my white hoodie that was brand new. It cost about 80.00, they washed for the first time. I have tried to work with this business since I moved to the area 18 months ago. I've given up. I'm tired of broken buttons on my dress shirts that I don't discover until I go to wear them. Problem is, I travel on business--I pick up cleaning, go home and pack, and then discover broken or missing buttons when I'm across the country. I've request every day service on a suit and when I went to pick it up, I was told the pants were sent to their location on Sierra College Blvd-15 miles away! A few years ago my favorite local cleaners was sold and I did not favor the business, but found Elm Cleaners near my shopping center. I was very pleased to find no communication problem, a very nice owner and staff who gave us good service and the confidence to continue going there. She has done alterations that others refused to do (button holes) and intricate cleaning like Persian rugs for us. No complaints after 2 years. The prices for the various services are OK. The staff are somewhat nice but not really customer-oriented. I had to switch to Valet Cleaners when I had Bailey's hem my suit. The sleeves looked like a child did it. The pants were hemmed too short even though they were measured while on me. I brought them in and what to get it corrected. I was told the manager wasn't in and she would need to call me. She never did call and is apparently never there. read more

Terrible service. I dropped clothes off in September. They lost my boyfriends suit pants, that was a specialty pair. They told us that they had believed they had gone home with someone else, and to give them a week to find it. A week went by, no phone call. So I called a few days later, turns out the guy who they thought had them was out of town and they were still waiting. Sorry. they'll call me as soon as possible. Cool. Great. So I wait for another week, when they said he'd be back and they could call and find out. He doesn't have the pants. Surprise. They said they would check with someone else. Cool. Great. Another week goes by. Nothing. They also did call my mom's house several times that week, AFTER I had given them my phone number 3 times. I finally go in, she explains that the pants are lost and they are very sorry. Awesome. So a month and a half after I drop the clothes off you realize you lost the pants. No kidding. Best they can do is reimburse us for the pants. Great, we bought them a year and a half ago and don't have the receipt. They are part of a pinstripe suit we bought and it's not a common suit so we'll have to buy my boyfriend a whole new suit now. We spent about $250 total, but only asked for $100 for the pants. Seems fair, especially since we don't have a receipt. The gal said she'd have to have her manager approve it, and he won't be back for a week. So another week goes by. I call a few days after that, and she said she's taking care of it and still waiting for her boss to approve it, that he would really like a receipt but understands. I explain AGAIN, we don't have the receipt and I am being VERY patient. She said she'd call me a week later to let me know when I can come pick up the check. It's now been 2 1/2 weeks since I have spoken to anyone from there. I have been so busy with work I haven't had a moment to call. I called today and the phone just rang, and rang, and rang, and rang... cool. It's been 3 months now. No pants. No money. I am beyond furious. I will call tomorrow, and the day after Christmas if I can't get a hold of anyone. This situation is beyond ridiculous and I refuse to go here, refer this place or have anything to do with it after this. read more

I recently was cleaning closets and came across my daughter's wedding dress from 14 years ago. She must have taken it off, put a plastic cover on it and hung it in there. It was an outdoor wedding, so when I took the plastic off the hem was really dirty. Wine had been spilled down the back, and front, and other stuff I couldn't identify. Anyway I called a couple of places to clean it and they were like, no way! Called Elm cleaners and she said bring it in and we will see. I took it in thinking it probably couldn't be saved.. within an hour she called me and said she had done a test patch and it was coming out!!! I will not be returning to Elm Cleaners in Auburn. I recently had my second bad experience. The first last Sept. I brought in a pair of pants to have a seam reinforced, and specifically said do not clean, these pants are washable. When I picked them up a week later (I live 30 mins. away) the seam had not been sewn but the pants had been cleaned! Mistakes happen...however when I recently brought in a lg. tablecoth to be cleaned I was not happy at pick up. I learned with this cleaner to ck. garment before leaving. Good thing! The tablecloth had dirt marks from the press all along the edges. They agreed to redo the tablecoth. When my husband brought it home I saw there were marks from the press that remained AND it was very poorly pressed. I take it to the cleaners for a crisp ironing job. This for 2 trips and 25 dollars! I just had an awful experience here and would recommend people don't use this cleaner. I took my wedding dress here to be cleaned after my wedding. I returned on the date they said it would be ready and it was not. They said it needed to be cleaned again. They said they would call when it was ready. After waiting two weeks and hearing nothing I called and they said it was ready. A call would have been nice. Then when I go to pick it up I learn that they have thrown away my bridal store garment bag which I dropped my dress off in. This was a nice and unique bag and I am baffled as to what kind of business throws away items like this. Now my wedding dress sits in a pathetic piece of dry clean plastic. I tried this dry cleaner based on older reviews. My experience has been abysmal - my favorite silk shirt now has permanent creases in the right chest, other shirts were also badly creased. Follow up phone calls were promised and not made. Promises to correct the issue were repeatedly made, then broken. Ultimately, blaming others, and demonstrating zero concern for problems they created for their customer prevailed. They treated me poorly, and they simply don't care! Stay Away. read more
