I started SAC approximately 7 weeks after 6 months of weekly chemo infusions ended and 2 weeks after 20 radiation treatments ended. Before Chemo, I enjoyed Body Pump 2-3 times @ week. After Chemo and radiation, I felt weak as a kitten and knew that I could not return to Body Pump without help. All my expectations were met! And more! After only two weeks of stretching and strengthening exercises (at my own pace) the bounce has returned to my step and am certain that I will steadily return to my normal pre-cancer vigor. The staff at BI Health and Rehab, from the food servers and room cleaners to the Director of Nursing and Executive Director, was well trained, extraordinarily polite and caring, and dedicated to the safety and comfort of the patients/residents. Most importantly, the culture appears to be 100% patients/residents focused, with staff such as the nurses, CNAs, aides and cleaning staff all treating patients/residents with dignity as patients cope with needing help with bodily functions, etc. that they can no longer do themselves.
