Both my soup and noodles were salty. The waitress never came by to ask if everything was ok. Myself and another couple were the only people dining that evening.

I rolled into Clemson on a Monday night, checked into my hotel, and then was off looking for a place to eat. I wasn't in the mood for a burger or a steak, so when my Yelp feed for Clemson showed that Bake and Cook Thai existed, I knew where I was going that night. Entering the restaurant, you are presented with what I have come to find to be the typical layout and decoration of a Thai restaurant. I was quickly seated and my drink order was taken, then I went through the menu as I normally do to get a feel for anything special about the place. I ordered up the summer rolls, the Tom Yum soup, and a red curry. For the curry, I asked for "Thai hot", not really expecting it to be all that hot since Thai restaurants in the US never seem to believe that I mean it. I was right once again. However, looking through the other posts about this restaurant this looks to be the status quo, and their "hot" is never really all that hot. The summer rolls came out and I started in on them. They were good, though they seemed a bit loosely packed. The soup came out shortly after and I dug into it. Most of the time when I get Tom Yum soup, it has a reddish color to it, but this one was more of a clear broth. Still quite tasty, and I enjoyed every drop. Finally the curry came out. As I said, it wasn't too hot, and I had to request extra chili sauce... it was about this point I think that my waiter realized I really wasn't kidding about the heat level I wanted. However, flavor was good, and that is just as important as the heat. My prolonged quest for a Thai restaurant that serves a truly insanely hot curry will just have to continue.

The BEST Pad Thai I've ever had. Fresh ingredients, super flavorful, and the serving size is great. I used doordash and the food was still hot when it arrived. 100% recommend!

Spring Rolls

We tried Bake and Cook for the first time last night and it was FANTASTIC! This in not a quick serve place, Jimmy was the only waiter. He did a great job but with one server expect to wait a bit....... If you do you will be rewarded, the food and presentation was really spectacular! We started with the Spring Rolls and the Pot Stickers both were fresh, piping hot, and really yummy! For entrees my wife had the Ginger Fresh with shrimp which was light but with a delicious ginger sauce. I had the Pad Ka Pow with tofu and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The fresh veggies were crispy and flavorful. I added a little Thai seasoning and sriracha sauce to get the exact level of hot I enjoy. Jimmy was a bonus in that he was charming, helpful and engaging. We can't wait to go back, I had no idea there was such good Thai food here in the Golden Corner!

I always try to give a restaurant at least twice before leaving a less than stellar review. Well…read morenow I've tried them a couple of times and I'm still not impressed. The food is okay, not great. The service a bit of a mess, the ambiance is okay. Our table ordered Drunken Noodle which was good, red curry and green curry. We also had a coconut soup and an order of baby egg rolls. My favorite part of the meal was the baby egg rolls and that's kinda sad. My companions ordered Thai teas and I got sweet tea which my tea was fine. Hubby's drunken noodle was actually pretty good. My green curry (with tofu) was fine but the rice was mushy. We also got a mango sticky rice for dessert but it seemed the rice was leftover from yesterday maybe. I wish I had better remarks but again, this is not my first visit and I had similar complaints the first time. As far as service, the servers were nice enough and I think for the volume of patrons they were doing okay but it still was a bit of a mess. They were doubling the work trying to cover all tables when maybe they should've had separate sections. I think that would've quelled some of the overlap like both servers working to refill my tea and by the time one had, the other was coming with the pitcher. This next part is the fault of the kitchen. I watched table after table get served their dishes scattered, where one person would get theirs while the others at the table were waiting for theirs to come. Some would wait for the others to be served but some would go ahead and start eating ahead of their party. This happened the last time I was there as well. That needs to be tightened up. Personally, I wouldn't go back. The experience was a bit of a drag. We regretted ordering dessert as it took so long to come and we were antsy to get out of there by the time it came. The food was good enough but it could've been so much better and the service stayed afloat but certainly could be better.

The lunch menu doesn't have appetizer options which was surprising and also cost them probably another $10-15 from our total as we might have done an appetizer and for sure coconut soups. That said, they brought out complementary spring rolls. We both had Thai teas, perfection! Hubby ordered the Drunken Noodle a notch below Thai hot which was delicious, and the Thai teas came was an excellent complement. When trying a new Thai restaurant (my fav cuisine) I always start with Green Curry (my fav dish) and if it doesn't hold up, I won't be back to try other dishes. Upon first impression, I noticed the curry with a thinner consistency, and I like mine creamy! Usually a thinner consistency lacks the punch of flavor that defines a good green curry dish. I don't know how Thai Lotus did it because of all the curries I've tried this has never happened, this green curry is outstanding! The flavor hits! I was so surprised! Yum yum yum! Our server was so sweet and everything was so delicious! The prices were reasonable, both our dishes and Thai teas, our tab was about $30+tip. I can't wait to go back for dinner service and check out some of their other menu items. We really enjoyed our lunch! Also, I love their artwork. I'm including a picture from right above our table that was just stunning! I wish I'd gotten pictures of the rest of the art series but I try not to include people in my images.

Today is Wednesday, February 11 2026, this is an updated review from a previous one I had posted…read more We loved Thai Lotus, until today. We go there frequently, we went there today for lunch, it was moderately busy, my wife ordered the lunch special fried crispy chicken with vegetables and rice, I ordered what I always order spicy eggplant with pork normal spice level, we also ordered the calamari appetizer. The appetizer came out. It was a small portion, but I had been craving it so I enjoyed it, my wife's crispy fried chicken with vegetables came out and they set the plate in front of her and walked away, about five minutes later our waitress walked by and said do you need a sharing plate? I said no I'm still waiting for my order. She gasped and said your order? I said yes spicy eggplant with pork normal spice like you wrote it down. She was shocked. She said let me check on your order. There were five other tables that came in after us. They all were served their food and after waiting 15 minutes I told the waitress cancel my order. She says well they're just starting it now. I said it doesn't matter. My wife is done eating and I no longer have an appetite. They gave us a three dollar discount on our total order and did not charge me for my dish. I was so frustrated. We loved going there, however, after this, we will not go back. The big issue is when she realized that she messed up our order. She did not make an attempt to make my order a priority while my wife's food was getting cold. They just blew it off and put me at the end of the list this is a terrible way to do business oh and by the way, I left a $1 tip on a $33 bill. We are so sad that this happened because we really like this place but we are done we will not be back.

Thai is probably my favorite cuisine and specifically I'm addicted to Thai green curry. I'm very particular and am often let down when restaurants slack on the creaminess/richness of the curries. I've yet to experience that here. I've tried most of the curries offered here and they are all very rich and flavorful! The Drunken Noodle is delicious as is the basil fried rice. They nail the landing on coconut soup and as recently offered with dinner egg drop soup. I've never been much of a fan of egg drop soup but Tifudi changed my mind! I'll enjoy theirs any day which makes me wonder if this is what egg drop soup should really taste like. Tifudi raises the bar on so many dishes. Being from Atlanta and constantly on the road, there are only a couple of standout Thai restaurants that would keep bringing me back and Tifudi is one that makes the list of about 3 top favs, which says a lot! The service is always pleasant, the restaurant is always clean and the food is top notch! Grateful to have this place close by.

The spice level option was also different. I'm used to having chilli oil on the table and I can put as much as I want. The levels, 1-5, doesn't really allow me to experiment with the spice. Secondly, I had to get my own water, and put up my dishes when I was done. THAT was different. Lastly, the pho brother was not what I was used to. It didn't have that authentic taste and beefy taste. It wasn't bad but it definitely tasted like it already had hoisin and siracha in it. And the white onions were definitely cut too thick and so much in my pho. On top of that, the broth was a little foggy. 1-10, the broth would be a 6 for me. I didn't order anything else because pho is my to go.
