Since Terry passed away, this restaurant's food has changed a bit. It is still good, but the Tom Kha Gai soup has much more coconut milk than previously and the L-10 stir fry has much more cabbage comparatively. Some of the base sauces like the Khang for Pad Prig Khang or for Khang Dan Red Curry have lost some depth of flavor. The "best soup day", as we call Wednesday, for the hot and sour soup, is all over the map for ingredients and ingredient ratio's. It is still good, but there have been many changes. Officially, I think my check-ins are at 244, but I have been here many more times, so it is not a complaint as much as someone who really can notice the changes. Recently, a diploma has appeared on the wall for one of the chef's from Le Courdon Bleu Thaia' - that has exciting promise. This is one of the best value lunches in the area and a hidden gem to find. read more

I love a good curry. And Thai curry is so fun because, if you get it hot, then it's lovely to eat, but the heat compounds and wallops you halfway through the meal. Part of the experience (I love spicy food). Thai Restaurant is the most authentic Thai food I've found in Greenville, and I decided to drag my friend there today because allergies (and smoke, forest fire) have been murdering both of us, and I needed a good spice-induced cry. We were sat quickly and ordered terry's beef (very flavorful, loved the sauce), spicy crispy (level 4 sweet spicy, amazing texture, great sauce, awesome vegetable assortment, massive portion - my friend said she'll try it at 6 next time), and green curry with chicken (level 5 (creamy, slow but intense burn, the ?tomatos? Are my favorite part they soak up so much flavor). We grabbed two wonderful Thai teas as well. The food and drinks were amazing, and I had enough curry left over to pack it up and eat it later for dinner. Tens across the board. What really made today stand out was the service. Our waiter was so kind and accommodating. He made sure to keep us supplied with water and was so pleasant and cheerful. He really went above and beyond. Even gave us some extra rice for the road. After pizza, Asian food is near the top of my faves. I am always looking for great Thai or Vietnamese restaurants. This did not disappoint. The food was spot on, and perfectly prepared. The bar are was filled with to go orders, 15-20 at one time, so my expectations were very high. They did not disappoint, once seated and ordered food was delivered quickly, and was delicious. Parking is very tight, but the turnaround in the lot is actually quite rapid due to all the takeouts and delivery drivers. Staff and service was very pleasant. We will be returning! I've been eating at this restaurant for many years and it was wonderful. However, it appears ownership has changed and so has the quality of the food. My initial review of this restaurant was 5 stars. The best Thai I've had but now it's just not very good. My noodles were reheated and mushy. The fried tofu was not crispy and you could tell it was reheated in the wok. I miss the old Thai Restaurant and will not come back here. read more

We just moved to Greenville 3 months ago and heard great things about Thai Restaurant. The food takes me back to the first time I ever ate Thai food and fell in love with it. Layers of flavors balanced with spices. Honestly, I haven't had Thai food at this level in a long time. Our server was spectacular and so kind. This is the best Thai food I've ever had & Asian cuisine hands down. I ordered Tom Yum Goong (Shrimp). It looked bland but WOW the flavor profile is amazing! There were two shrimp in the bottom of the bowl hiding. I'd recommend finding those & cutting them up so you get bites of shrimp as you eat. This is truly an umami dish. Again wow. I ordered spice level 20, which was approaching too hot but still a nice flavor profile. I will try level 15 next time & see if it has enough kick. read more

Very friendly family oriented restaurant the service was very good if not almost too good. They are very on top of things you will never have to wait for a drink here as soon as you are 1/2 empty they will refill your cup. This thai is different then most Thai I have had where there is a lot more seafood then I am used to it's not a bad thing it's just different then the Thai places in Florida and California that I am used to so I found it hard to find things I liked but the dish I did order the duck while being a tad overcooked was delicious and the appetizer of chicken satay was also delicious. Funny to me that this restaurant is just named Thai Restaurant (I thought my brother was joking when he said that) but I was pleasantly surprised by the food! We started with an order of dumplings and Rangoons. The dumplings were the Shumai style but filled with what seemed like either ground chicken or ground pork. For the Rangoon, I'm not sure if it had any actual crab (or krab) but the crispy fried cream cheese wonton was delicious regardless. For our mains, we did the chicken fried rice at 5 spice and red curry at 7 spice (although I think they flip flopped those as the rice was definitely spicier than the curry). Both were delicious! This is hands down one of the best thai restaurants I've ever been to. It's a hidden gem! We got sat right away. They had a ton of to go orders waiting. The service was top notch too!! We started off with the sampler appetizer for two. So crispy and good and nice to try a little bit of everything. Then we had the tom yum goong. It was zesty and so spicy! The broth was so savory! I got the pad kee mao with beef and it was delicious. Such a huge portion and so spicy and good. My husband got the seafood stir fry and it was also a huge portion. I like this place. After jasmine closed I needed to find a new Thai place to meet my pad Thai cravings so we tried this place. The food here is pretty good, but some of the items we got were only alright. Papaya salad was super good. Nice and sour but the portion size was a little small. The Tom yum soup here is hands down the best in Greenville. It's extremely flavorful and the perfect balance of sweet to sour. Shrimp is also cooked perfectly. The pad Thai here was a little disappointing to me. The sauce is pretty good because the balance of flavors are good, but there just isn't enough of it which leads to the noodles being a little dry. I also like my tofu crispier than what they had. Pad kee mao was pretty good though. Noodles were cooked perfectly and the umami flavor was just right. First time visit to this Thai restaurant located in a small,shopping plaza. The hubby and I went at 5:30 on a Thursday evening so we beat the crowd. It starting filling up around 6:00 pm. We were welcomed as we came into the restaurant and the service was consistent and efficient our entire visit. There was a casual, friendly, clean environment. We ordered the Dumplings as an appetizer. They were scrumptious! The hubby and I both ordered soup. He had a bowl of Tom Yum Gai and I had the Tom Kha Gai. For our entrees the hubby had Pad Thai with chicken. (He was stationed in Thailand so he always compares it to what he had when he was stationed there.) He said it was good - perfect traditional Pad. I had the House Special Fried Rice. It was delicious and the portion was huge. The server helped us decide the level of spiciness for each dish and she was spot on For dessert we shared the Sticky Rice with Mango. I'd never had this dish before - It was yummy. Definitely ending every Thai meal with this dessert from now on! I would recommend this restaurant. Only negative was that parking was limited-additional parking in the back...just plan on getting there early. read more

We ordered the chicken satay, chicken green curry, and beef pad Thai. Everything was quick and tasted delicious. We both ordered a level 3 spicy on a 10 scale. I like a good bit of heat in my dishes, but oh my goodness. My dish (the curry) was as hotter than my boyfriend's pad Thai and left my nose running and eyes watering!! I'd come back and get the same thing, but maybe a 2 is more my speed here! I think I'll be coming here a lot because it's tasty, quick, and convenient. Next time I'll sample the drink menu. read more
