The Tom Young Goong was exquisite! Mau, the owner was incredibly sweet and took us on a culinary tour of his restaurant. What a gem!! The food was delicious. The service was even better. We had chicken fried rice and spicy noddles with pork. The spice level recommendation was spot on. Not too hot and very flavorful. The owner came by a few time dropping off sample appetizers which was all tasty and delicious. Then after dinner came by with Thai tea and a coffee sample. Small restaurant big flavor, immediately we were greeted by the most hospitable staff transcending us from being in a business incitement, to someone's humble home. The owners graciously offered us samples of Thai Tea, Thai coffee, and his seasonal special Rendang (which was exceptionally delicious). I ordered the Moo Deng noodle dish which consisted of generous portions of egg noodles and roast pork. The dish was very flavorful and well presented. I recommend requesting a side of vinegar and fish sauce to help elevate your palate and cut through some of the fat and sweetness. The crab Rangoon were also phenomenal and contained a rich and creamy cheese filling. My friend also highly praised the pad Thai as well. Safe to say we will be returning again in the future. I am so happy our friends told us about this new place! It's adorable inside and out, the sweetest owners, who own and run the place, as well as greet, and cook! They do it all. The wife is so funny and sweet to everyone. They didn't have a Yelp page yet, so I made one to help them. But they do have many great Google reviews already! They are new and adding things to their menu daily. And now have new lunch special plates. This place is very authentic. I'm from CA and am used to authentic Thai food. This has different items on the menu -- more street food items you'd find in Bangkok. So rich in flavor! She said she brings ingredients back from Thailand. Their Thai iced drinks are delicious: we tried the Thai iced tea, Thai iced coffee, and Thai iced green -- all delicious! The Thai iced tea is an acquired taste but I've had it since I was young and love it. The iced Thai coffee is foamy and sweet like a liquid frap but a strong coffee taste- my fav! Green iced tea tastes like creamy sweet matcha. They also have Boba tea and others. We first went with friends and ordered: *R9- forgot the name but it's a ground chicken (or pork option) basil brown sauce w bell peppers and onions over rice. Delicious!! Flavorful and light. *spicy noodles w shrimp (it's similar to pad see ew but spicy). Was very good! *Friends for Pad see ew and the Larb w sticky rice- also good! On our second visit, my son and I tried the pad see ew- very good. Always a fav of mine and they make it great here- saucy and flavorful! We also tried the lunch special of the R9- and it was a smaller portion w a good amount of rice, and a small side salad w ginger miso dressing. Bursting w flavor! $10! And I added a Thai iced coffee on for an extra fee. Yum! My son tried the veggie ramen and loved it! Great broth. They have a few parking spots in their lot, or other street parking. It's casual inside but cute and colorful. A few tables on both sides when you walk in. They serve most things in to go Tupperware in case they're too busy to seat you. They're very helpful and accommodating. She loves kids and is sweet w them. I'm happy to see many orders coming in for them! Order at the counter, take a seat. Card or cash. Call by phone also for to go orders. Remember that it's not a fast food place and they are doing it all by themselves. So be patient and gracious. They still cook fast and it amazes me! All fresh too! This is our new go to spot. Grateful it's in central! read more

Very authentic Thai restaurant. I waited til after my third visit to write since it's new. It's been solid every time w fresh ingredients. If the owners cant offer it fresh they take it off the menu so a few items weren't available like the pork belly but knowing everything is fresh and you can taste it. Even the tuna poke was excellent. My kids have ordered the pad that every time and love it. Drunken noodle is the go to. An easy 5 star especially for the area. read more

FINALLY! The Thai food our area has been missing! We've had to go to Greenville anytime we had a craving, but no more! First of all, this place is very small and cute. If the parking lot is full, you might not get a table. Tonight was Friday and there were no empty tables when we arrived at 7:30, but we were getting it to go, so that was no problem for us. We ordered chicken pad Thai, pork city fried rice, and bamee moo dang to share between the two of us. I'm pretty sure my husband wanted to lick his plate after he finished. It was absolutely delicious! All three of them had SO MUCH flavor! As many have already said, this is a husband and wife operation. She was running back to the kitchen in between orders to help him cook. If you are in a hurry and need to eat quickly, don't go during busy dining times.
