This is the quintessential small town bakery. I was on the hunt for a good sandwich on my recent trip back to the small town where I grew up. I hadn't been back for several years and was scared that I'd be forced to down one of those pre made, saran wrapped, soggy bread things pretending to be a sandwich. My mom told me to check out Bake My Day.....and while I was there "pick one up for me too." As their sign says "we do not make fast food, we make fresh food." Yes, that is the truth and about half the time the advertisement is worth the wait. I ordered two sandwiches. #1 was a Reuben with turkey instead of corned beef and the second was a turkey, no onion, on a croissant instead of bagel. Since they come as a meal with a side and a drink I chose to try both. One I ordered with chips, the second with their potato salad. As I waited I was able to look around the small shop and observe the locals who obviously frequented this establishment. If I lived here I would do the same. The waiter (and cashier and take out order taker) seemed to know everyone and even though it was my first time he treated me almost the same way. The bakery case looked a little empty but with enough treats to satisfy your sweet tooth. I almost ordered a few of them to test as a dessert but refrained. Finally our sandwiches were done and I carried the bag of food out to my car. My son, who was waiting patiently for me (we picked up Uncle Tony's for him, see separate review) asked me what took me so long! I explained the sign and he, too, agreed with it. We made the 8 mile drive back to my parents cabin where my mom and I opened our takeout. She really liked her sandwich but mine did not have the subs I had requested. First off there was onion in my sandwich and it was on the bagel as advertised, not the croissant that I had requested. Well there's one star removed. The sandwich was good. I didn't care for the potato salad but I understand that is a highly subjective food. All in all I would return as I know that this the only place I would receive a decent sandwich in the area. I would try not just another sandwich but also some of their treats. read more

I have eaten at Bake My Day numerous times. I have never had anything that was not of the highest quality. The sandwiches are fixed fresh and to order. The pastries are made daily and taste wonderful early morning with coffee. I have posted here before but seems Yelp removes posts they don't care for. I've eaten there once and thought it was over priced just for two bagel sandwich meals and a coffee. You only get a handful of Frito's with it and the bagel was hard. I don't believe that everything is baked there fresh everyday (and no one else Ive talked to does either) its more believable that its all frozen and comes out of a bag.. Or just old?! I have no problem with that, I just don't want to pay for gourmet doughnuts when they are the opposite. Go to iga and pay half that price! And also I stood in the front for a long time before the girl got up to help me! I didnt think she worked there since I walked by her to go to the counter. I guess the real housewives are more important than customer service?! I got helped only after the commercials were started I was not impressed. Makes me miss the old place that was there! Best coffee and baked goods in Goldendale. Period. The owners are great people who treat every customer like family. This bakery has a good regular crowd and zero drama. We were on our way to visit friends in Leavenworth and it happened to be noon. The towns along the route are very small and we were unfamiliar. Checked yelp and there were 3 little cafes with similar ratings. Saw this one first and stopped. Glad we did. One of the owners Shane, was taking orders and was friendly and welcoming. He told us that he has an education in business, his wife Sheena is a baker. It has worked out great. The clubhouse was great and no skimping on the bacon or tomato. Someone else had the Cowboy with turkey, ham, and jalapeno, and said it was great. Didnt buy the baked goods but they looked amazing. Definitely would recommend. read more

I have been disappointed 3 times now. This was not what I thought a "bakery" would be. 3-4 loaves of bread and a handful of donuts to choose from! The donut I got was old and hard, and beautiful brownie was undercooked. Dissatisfied and not returning. read more
