The portions are huge and the quality was amazing. My corned beef hash was cooked slightly crispy and it was delish! Hash browns were crispy outside and fluffy soft inside. It was the breakfast I was looking for, comforting, filling, added dashes of Tabasco, the right amount of heat and acid to cut through the richness of the gravy. Coffee was perfect with this, hot fresh with enough space for cream. The table next to me ordered the Dad's breakfast burrito. It was as big as a forearm. The cook smiled at me, said it was filled with eggs, cheese, crispy red potatoes and sausage. This was a perfect surprise. I almost hesitated to post this, wanting to keep this as a hidden gem, the perfect soundtrack playing with great food served simply in a small town. It was a bit spicier than I would have liked, not that it was too hot, but that flavor was really dominant for me so I'd probably modify it a bit in the future or just build my own . My daughter loved her ham sandwich which comes with sprouts, avocado, and cucumber. My husband also really liked his Italian and their clam chowder. It's a unique space that's worth seeing. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. The restaurant appeared significantly understaffed, and most of the menu items we wanted weren't available. Ordering and paying at the counter isn't necessarily a problem, but for a restaurant of this size it creates an inefficient experience and leaves guests without much support once they've ordered. Once the food arrived it 45-minutes later, it was underwhelming and looked like items from a grocery store deli. I hope they're able to address the staffing and kitchen issues, because the venue deserves a dining experience that matches its character. Until then, hesitate to go.
