Cool!!

The owner, Chris, bakes AMAZING breads and pastries!! This was our first visit and we cannot wait to go to Volcano again!! Victoria is wonderful and very personable with customers! She makes the most delicious coffees, beverages, hot and cold!!! We really enjoyed our Friday afternoon chatting with Victoria as we sipped our coffee drinks! Thank you Baked in Amador

We wandered into Baked in Amador today and were greeted with a friendly employee who kindly guided us thorough the menu and patiently answered our questions. I settled on a Jalapeño cheese "bagel" with cream cheese and a cappuccino while my wife had a cortado. The food and drinks were prepared quickly and my god that bagel was darn good. Fresh, chewy, warm, and the jalapeño added a nice kick. We ate outside in their back garden which is beautifully manicured. As we were there on a Sunday, it was pancake day and the gents up front kindly gave us two sourdough pancakes on the house. If you're in the area, definitely make a point to visit.

Best sourdough in the world. Owners Kris & Tom have brought something so special to downtown Volcano. Community focused bakery offering incredible breads, pastries, specialty coffee, and more. Kris absolutely pours love into everything she bakes & you can taste it! Our favorite place to go for breakfast on Sundays, the day they offer delightful Sourdough Pancakes & French Toast. You can enjoy their offerings in the gorgeously landscaped backyard space, or opt for the beautiful & cozy indoor bar style dining area. Showing up early to make sure you get what you want is encouraged, as the whole community shows up to stock up on their bread and goodies every weekend. Love love love!

Such a great little bakery! Even though it's only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, it's worth the wait. The star here is their sourdough bread but they also have some fine pastries. The pear honey Danish was my favorite. It's pastry was so flaky and buttery it almost melted in your mouth. As was the pastry for the cream puff, both made with sourdough starter. I really appreciate that they're not overly sweet and the pastry shines through. We also had their "Better than Bagels" plain seeded bagel with cream cheese and a mustard dill sauce drizzle, which sounds odd but was really good almost like a vinaigrette. It was the best bagel we have ever had! Served toasted and warm it was so soft, also made with sourdough. Their jalapeño cheddar sourdough Fougasse was delicious. I just wish they had better coffee, their drip coffee is pretty weak. Service was amazing. The owner talked with us and was so nice. Looking forward to coming back to try their cinnamon rolls and fresh sourdough pizza dough. The pizza dough is a new item and should be available soon as a regular fare.

What a HUGE addition "Baked In Amador" is to our town of Volcano, specifically and to the County of Amador, more regionally. Owners Kris and Tom bring the freshest and best quality ingredients to their phenomenal Sourdough French Breads. The Garlic Bread? WHOLE CLOVES OF GARLIC!!! This makes a garlic lover like me exceedingly happy. I come from San Francisco so I know a thing or two about sourdough. These folks are the real deal. Soups and other pastries too. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 to 6. Come check them out. You will NOT be disappointed!

My Southwest Salad (chopped romaine lettuce, taco beef, tomatoes, avocado, olives, jalapeños, cojita cheese, tortilla strips with tapitio ranch dressing) was fresh and delicious. My husband's cheeseburger (1/3 lb angus beef patty, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, pickle, and mayonnaise) was cooked exactly as ordered and seasoned nicely. The side of fries was good, too. Staff were friendly. Our waitress checked in with us regularly. The dining area is spacious; boothes and tables were available.

This was mine and my daughter's first time here. After spending a little time scouting out some machines and playing for a little bit, my daughter and I and the rest of the family decided to have Lunch at Margaret's Cafe and Bakery. And we were definitely not disappointed. The host was a young man who had the most awesome service! Very friendly and very nice. He sat us in a booth which was definitely a major plus. We didn't have to wait long for our waitress to swing by and take our order. She was just as awesome as the Host up front! She was all smiley and friendly and she dug into some of our jokes and laughed. Dad has dietary needs and our waitress was very accommodating and helpful with that. Very thankful! Okay so... food. My sister ordered French fries for my daughter, herself, and I to share. Fries perfectly crunchy and perfectly seasoned. if there was salt on them fries I sure didn't notice! I ordered The Tuna Salad Sandwich. You get a choice of fries or a salad. since we already had fries at the table I opted for the house salad with Ranch dressing. HOLY GUACAMOLE! the Ranch they serve there is THE BEST! The. Best! the size of the salad was a good size too! (woulda loved a bit more crouton bc those things were good too)! The Tuna Salad Sandwich was very tasty. I totally enjoyed the wheat bread. The tuna salad was perfectly seasoned followed by the great onion crunch within the sandwich itself. Portions are huge! I was only able to eat half of it. will I be back?! oh yes! there are other things on the menu I want to try! So if you like great service with a smile and some good food--this is the spot at Jackson Rancheria!

This is exactly what upcountry needed!!…read more I remember driving by this establishment multiple times when it was empty, then when it became Graze, then when it became empty again. It looks like Ramblehorn is here to stay and I'm here for it! The prices are affordable, the portions are huge, and the staff are friendly. Parking is tight, but not terrible. Amador Brewing is next door as well. As soon as you step in, it smells like a classic diner, the kind of smell that takes you back. We went for a late brunch on a Sunday and it was packed, but we were able to be seated pretty quickly. Our server was attentive and jovial. Whenever I try out a new breakfast/brunch spot (which isn't that often since I don't normally eat breakfast/brunch), I have to order the eggs benedict. Perfecting a hollandaise sauce and poached eggs isn't exactly the easiest, so it's pretty tell-tale for a restaurant if they can get their eggs benedict right. For my side I went with the hash browns. My husband wanted something a little lighter, so he went with the breakfast sandwich and a side of hash browns. Apparently you can order the egg however you want, so he decided to ask for it scrambled. He chose bacon for the meat. It took a while for our food to arrive. As soon as we placed our order, it seemed that everyone was coming for the lunch rush. There were a few tables that had also just ordered as well. Our server was very apologetic for the wait, but we said we didn't mind. I could tell they were still working through the kinks and training new staff, but the system they had going was already good. Once our food arrived, we were so excited to dig in. The poached eggs passed the test, and so did the hollandaise sauce. I hate when breakfast food is overly oily or rich, but the food here was not that at all. The English muffins also held up well to the barrage of yolk pouring out of the eggs. The hash browns were delightfully crispy, and my favorite additions to hash browns are ketchup and hot sauce, both of which they have at the condiment section of each table. My husband enjoyed his breakfast sandwich as well. It wasn't heavy and was well-balanced. The bacon was crispy and the eggs were fluffy. You can tell that the staff at Ramblehorn make their food with love. Given the multitudes of patrons that have been stopping by, I'm pretty sure Ramblehorn will stay for the long haul. I'm definitely coming back to try some other dishes soon!

The positives: servers were friendly though they seemed stressed, but they checked on us a few times. For a busy Saturday at 930am, it appeared they could use more help. My daughter also liked her waffle and the orange juice was delicious. The negatives: we ordered items that said "home made" and they absolutely did not taste as such. The corned beef hash was in no way made from scratch- it had the meat texture of canned corned beef with soggy shredded potatoes mixed in... similar to wet cat food texture. The overall flavor wasn't the best either. The country Benedict was also flavorless- the "home made" gravy tasted only of flour and sadness, and the sausage patties were limp and gray. We also were offered more coffee since the cup was low- but never received the refill before we left. Not sure we will be back but maybe their lunch will be better.

Did a quick Yelp search, and found Blue Door Bakery and let's just say, I'm glad I did! They bake everything the morning before they open, so everything we got was super hot and fresh. I went with a sourdough loaf, their garden focaccia, and their best selling morning bun. The morning bun was delicious, and I don't even like morning pastries. Great with a coffee. The sourdough bread was as good as the reviews said they were. We made multiple sandwiches at home with them and with their house made vinaigrette (definitely order a side of this), it elevated the at-home sandwiches to another level. The garden focaccia was solid but not my favorite, it did go well with the pasta we made though. I wish they sold their sandwich focaccia bread as a standalone though. I was chatting with some other people in line and they saying how they go for their sandwiches because their vinaigrette and focaccia bread was so good, so definitely plan on ordering a sandwich next time around! If you are in the area and craving some delicious carbs and baked goods, definitely worth checking out.
