The cake looked beautiful! We hired Ingrid to do our wedding cake. When we tasted the cakes I liked so many I went for multiple flavors. The display cake was chocolate with vanilla bean and raspberry filling. Half of the cupcakes were chocolate with nutella topping and half were vanilla with strawberry topping. Ingrid made our cake for our May wedding at Amador Cellars. We met with her a few months before to do a cake tasting and she brought the most amazing spread of cakes and fillings. We were in heaven and had the hardest time choosing between all the flavors. We ended up going with a lemon cake with lemon curd and raspberry filling and a chocolate cake with a hazelnut filling. I was considering nixing the cake all together, since our wedding was up in the middle of nowhere (HideOut near Kirkwood), I am lactose intolerant and I had my heart set on a candy bar. My husband turned 50 while we were traveling through Amador County. I wanted to surprise him with a delicious, personalized cake but since it was going to be a small celebration (us and two friends), I didn't know whether Ingrid could/would accept it because she normally does bigger orders. I was thrilled when she did and SO happy with the end result! I choose a cake from the pictures on her website and Ingrid helped me choose the flavors (almondpaste, raspberry and lemon). I love sweets and have eaten more than my fair share but the cake Ingrid baked was of a deliciousness I had never tasted before.
