Basic offerings, no fancy type of donuts here. So I always opt for the plain like glazed donut and a cake donut of some sort (chocolate with nuts this go around). It's the closest and only donut shop in town (pioneer). Lots of parking as well. Donuts were ok nothing fancy, good and didn't disappoint. Prices were fair for what they are. Was under $4 (3.85?) For 2 donuts. I've been to other fufu shops in big cities where the donuts are in the $3-4/per donut so these are still very affordable. Will be back again read more

Showed up at 11:30am on Sunday May 31st looking forward to some sandwiches only to be turned away rudely saying they were closing with no explanation even though their hours say they are open to 3pm. Bought sandwiches elsewhere. read more

Went in to get a dozen donuts. The young girl with dark brown/black hair was so unfriendly and rude. I walked in and said I wanted a dozen donuts, picked them out, was polite, said please and thank you, paid and even tipped cash. I work in customer food service I know how to act. I didn't realize I was inconveniencing her by ordering donuts at a donut shop. Disappointing. It doesn't even matter about the donuts the experience was ruined by such a poor display of humanity. She didn't know but I just took my sick old dog to the vet and it was hard. All I wanted was to get some donuts for my family and reset my day with a sweet treat and positive mindset. Found a killer donut /sandwich spot. So first off they amazing hella fresh donuts here.. tried the chocolate, glaze and maple for my first time .. I have never been to a donut spot which had so many options to choose for food beside donuts ... There menu here is ridiculously amazing .. so many sandwiches to choose from , breakfast to lunch and so many options .. So I had to try a turkey sandwich with my donuts lol And I have to say they did a great job with there turkey sandwich. I love places that have big menus and lots to choose from. I definitely recommend this place for anyone who loves donuts or sandwiches, very friendly and kind staff too read more

This place is expensive. It cost us 38.00 for 2 donuts, 2 breakfast sandwiches and 3 coffees. The coffees are just plain old foldgers nothing special. My Blueberry fritter hardly had any blueberries in it, didn't taste like blueberries and it was hard and dry. Wouldn't get this again. The maple bar was good and fresh. An extra star for the maple bar. The breakfast sandwiches were just ok. read more

Donuts baby. Fresh, delicious donuts. It's tough to find a really good donut shop, but I've found them. My current favorite is the blueberry fritter. So good!! All the times I've been here, the quality of each donut has been excellent and the consistency is spot on. That's the key to a really good restaurant or bakery. Every single time you go, you know exactly what to expect. They offer up a variety of dining options, which is something that I do not subscribe to. When I find a donut shop that's really good, I get donuts. I avoid breakfast sandwiches, lunch items, etc. That's just my way of operating, so if you show up for lunch, they do have some options for you. read more

Love this place! We order donuts every year around Christmas when our family is up for the holidays. They are fresh, delicious, and there are several donut options to choose from. Sandwiches also look amazing, though haven't tried them. With so little options to choose from up here, I am glad we have this place. read more

I have enjoyed stopping by and picking up a buttermilk donut on occasion. Two years ago the price was $1.50. Then they raised the price to $1.95. Today when I stopped in for a donut the price was $2.50. The new price is absolutely ridiculous! I know the price of flour and sugar have not increased by 66%. A classic case of price gauging. I very much enjoyed the glazed donut with coconut on top. Maple donut was good too. The donut dough is high quality. You can tell they make the dough here. It's not oily either like sometimes you get at the grocery store. Cute little shop. Lady was super nice too! It was the only store open in the small line of businesses off of the 88 freeway. My only issue is that they just don't make enough of the only donut that I like which is white icing with rainbow sprinkles. I'm not a big donut person so I often just don't get one. My husband usually gets a variety & he says they're all great. I can only speak to my kind of donut but they're definitely yummy! They have very good Donuts. My problem is.... They use gloves at the cash register to touch money, and use those same gloves to pick up donuts. I asked the cashier, did you just touch money with those gloves and then pick up my donut, the answer was yes. Big no no. That's why I didn't give them a higher rating. read more

My family and I were just traveling through and we came across Star Donuts on Yelp. Decided to try it! The donuts were good. They offered to heat up the ham and cheese croissant. You chan choose the filling for some donuts and they fill it right in front of you, which I thought was fun and interesting. The people working were suuuper nice. Although I was a little disappointed... during COVID you would expect full coverage, right? The girl's mask wasn't covering her nose, and the other lady had a face shield but no mask to 'filter' her nose and mouth. Love this place! Apple fritters are killer, and so are the maple bars. They will run out of maple bars by noon, so try and get in early. There is a $5 minimum charge if you use a card, but I always seem to add to my morning order no problem spending my five dollars at this local shop. Customer service is sweet and efficient, very easy going atmosphere. There are only three places to sit and one more outside which is nice when it's sunny and warm. I am so very pleased after visiting this morning. I've been coming to Pine Grove annually for 30+ years to visit my grandmother and within the last 5 or so years I've really noticed how poor the customer service I receive is. I feel legitimately like I am an annoyance at every establishment I walk in to. NOT TODAY! The two individuals here at Star welcomed me in at 5 something in the morning. Under their facial coverings, I knew there was a genuine smile. The woman behind the counter was so pleasant and patient as I took my time deciding and un-deciding what type of donuts I wanted. I appreciate how Covid compliant there were. Truly grateful of that and a real relief to see it as many places in the county aren't entirely on board. The donuts were outstanding. Perfectly done.
