I tell them to shut it down if I can't get a written quote. I'm then asked for an email address to "show I'm serious" about buying. I say I'll just move on. If you're going to solicit business on Facebook marketplace, I would think you should be prepared to quote if someone responds to your own listing. I have no idea why providing a phone number or email proves some sort of seriousness. I'm a cash paying customer responding to an ad. I brought my Victory Cross Country in for a busted shifter, and somehow, after their "inspection," they claimed I also needed a new clutch assembly and tires. I agreed to have everything repaired, trusting them in good faith. What followed was 45-60 days of inaction--they didn't even start working on my bike for nearly two months. Then, during checkout, they tried sneaking in an extra $800-$1,000 in charges I never signed off on. Additionally, "Someone" before them stripped the main bolts on the forks, so they basically destroyed them while putting on a new tire. Fast forward 300-400 miles after all this supposed "work," and the clutch they installed failed. The repairs were so shoddily done it honestly feels intentional--because you can't be this incompetent by accident. Based on my recent purchase of my Challenger, they were as many other dealerships are known for. Yes they are trying to get the sale, but they were willing to make a deal that made sense. Just know your numbers and your limits when you go. What makes them better is in comparison to the Raleigh stealership their prices are better on everything and they seem to understand a deal, some maintenance, some accessories are better than selling nothing. They are however friendly and provide knowledgeable mechanics. I would buy from them again, however I hope this feeling last while enjoying my Challenger. read more

Terrible dealership... On Friday September 11 2020 I inquired about a bike and filled out credit app. I was fully financed for this bike . On Saturday September12. I set up and hired and paid a person to go pick up the bike (I'm in VA) on Monday. At the same time, I called about the bike to complete the purchase. I spoke to Joseph my sales person and he stated he was just to busy to help and he would call later.. later came he never called. I called several other people and got the run around. Finally I got intouch with Allen the sales manager. He stated the bike was not ready to sale it was broken. No mind you the Nike was on the web page for sale. Allen said it would not start.. I asked why didn't you all just be honest and tell me that instead of playing games. I called him several days later the bikes fuel pump was bad I was told. I called every week to check on the bike. I waited so long my loan expired.. LMAO.... 6 weeks later the Nike was fixed it was the air breather... I was told it takes six weeks to get a part.. lmao over and over. Meanwhile my God son also ran a credit app and was approved for a bike. So that's two bike that could be sold. I told Cody to stay away from these guys they don't even warranty any of their bikes. These bikes are auction bikes...junk I was told I would have to rerun my credit to purchase this bike. I asked for a warranty and got no answer from Allen after that. If I could give them negative stars I would. We had our quad serviced here for an oil change and the mechanic made a mistake causing us to need a new engine. After getting a new engine the mechanic made another mistake and a screw punctured the water pump from the inside causing us to have it serviced again. Again we had to bring our quad back to have it serviced for a mistake caused by the service department. After speaking with Tony and going back and forth with these people who don't call back when they say they will, we were assured our quad was all set and fixed and we had nothing to worry about. But yet again here we are where we drove the quad and now it's overheating and the fans won't kick on and the coolant was boiling due to the machine overheating and yet again we called baker and was told we'd get a call back and surprise surprise no one has called us back. It's astonishing that a company can disregard their customers when it's their fault our machine keeps breaking. We purchased the quad in 2022 and it's been in the shop due to Bakers Service departments errors more then we've had an opportunity to ride it. My family and I will never do business with this company again. This company should honestly be embarrassed and ashamed. read more

I am in the market for a Springfield. I found a red demo Springfield I wanted on their website that had a good price. I got all the numbers from them and what they would give on my trade. Come to find out, they wanted me to come in the next day and the bike wasn't even there! The person I was dealing with said he could get the bike on Monday. Sick of this store. We've had one bad experience after another. It was easy buying the bike. My husband bought a used motorcycle and 2 weeks later the bike wouldn't work and the oil was low. We found out they sold the bike without actually doing a pre delivery inspection. They apologized and said to bring it in and they will fix it. COOL! I bring it in and a week later they call saying the oil is changed and that it'll be $600 to fix the bike even though they said they would fix it at no charge to us. I argued with them back and forth because we were told it would be fixed during the oil change and now it won't and the manager Eric told me to bring it back when my warranty kicks in after 30 days. Wtf? After more arguments they said they would fix it and I can give them a 5 star review. I've had the bike for a few months now and I don't want the extended warranty that I was convinced into getting. It's been over a month an a half. I canceled it April 4th. I was supposed to receive a call and every time I call to get an update I get told someone will call me back but no one does. I've called the extended warranty and they told me that a check was sent to Baker on the 6th. So WHATS GOING BAKER?! DID YOU GUYS LOSE THE CHECK OR ARE YOU GUYS HOLDING ONTO IT? We're ready to buy a bigger bike and we will not be buying from this dealer. We just want check to be deposited into the loan so we can pay off our bike and get another one. What a joke of a dealership! Purchased a 2020 Triumph Rocket, got home and drove it 8 miles to have issues. Told salesman Eddie and manager Allen about it but they didn't seem to wanna help. Took it to Triump dealership in Raleigh and they had it fixed in an hour! PDI wasn't done correctly and haven't gotten a call from Baker since my purchase. Also never received my backpack and Keychain that came with my bike in the crate. This place definitely doesn't care for their customers after you make a purchase. They worked with me pretty well, got to test ride each bike I was interested in. Fair with trade in, was close to a wash with last bike. Loan companies were military friendly or if you have good credit, Harley had me at 10.4%. I walked out with a 4.4%. Each of staff were open about their opinions on bikes if you ask for them not just steer you getting the best machine they had available. read more

I wanted to take a moment for a shout out for Baker American Cycles in Fayetteville, NC. I was looking to buy a Springfield from another dealer (within 3 miles of my home) when a friend told me to give Baker an opportunity for my business. He proceeds to give me the owners number. I'm not inclined to call owners up, but called Carson on the urging of my buddy. Carson ended up simply being one of the kindest gentleman I've met. I worked an incredible deal over the phone and went to the dealership to pick up the bike. Every employee talked about how they love Carson and wouldn't work for anyone else. To me..that's a very good sign. When I finally meet Carson he proceeds to give me his personal cell and says "if you need anything on this bike you call me". A week after getting the bike I call the dealership to ask about inaugural IMRG. Well the bike was "used" (under 100 miles) so the original owner got the inaugural membership. That was all I needed to know and was happy with that. A few days later I get a check in the mail for $45 from the dealership to pay for my first year IMRG. I was beyond impressed!!! Fast forward to a few weeks later and I find an issue with the factory paint. I call Carson to ask if I should work with Polaris and he has me come into dealership. They were unable to fix but he says "leave the bike and I will make it like new". I explain I live 90 miles away and he hands me the keys to a company car. I said that I couldn't do that to them as I am leaving for vacation and he said "no worries. We don't need the car". In speaking with others that have bought their bikes there I've learned my story is not uncommon. One that really impressed me was Carson driving 4 hours away to tow in a gentleman that had an issue. Carson did this after hours, himself, on his own time and nickel. I have purchased over 20 cars and 12 motorcycles and this is by far the best experience I've had!! read more

I received a decent deal for my 2018 Springfield, which is why I chose it. I also chose it based on the accessories that came standard on it. I received a windshield, a sissybar and a back rest. All of these take no more than 5 minutes to put on as I have removed them plenty of times. I was charged 2 hours' worth of labor without being told. Also, my great deal as it turned out was only because they sold me a DEMO motorcycle without telling me. There were no bikes on their website that were labeled as demo nor was I told. I became aware something wasn't right because of all the problems I was having with the bike and their service manager asked me if I had bought a demo. I told her I had better not have as I wasn't told. It took about 5 conversations with Polaris to find the true history on my bike as yes, it is a demo. This is fraud and against the law. I am currently dealing with this matter through the legal channels. My lawyer has been spun up on this as I believe it's called Doctrine of Diminished Returns or something like that. Baker American Cycle website has several of their Indian motorcycles labeled as Demos now, you are welcome. It happened after I informed the dealership's manager Joe Cammarota that I knew the true history of the bike from Polaris. His expression was priceless. Next day, Demo labeled bikes. Someone got caught with their pants down and now they will pay for it. I've owned my Demo Springfield for only 60 days and in that time, I have been there so much they know me by name and hate seeing me coming. I hit the 500-mile mark and needed to setup the 500-mile break in service. It took a week to get someone in the service department on the phone. I finally got it in, checked out and ECM updated. The next day I started getting TPMS flashes on my screen constantly. It seems the ECM flash was not completed. Two weeks later, things went downhill. The bike's engine light came on and it shutdown to what's called limp mode to protect the engine, which was ok as I never made it out of my neighborhood. It was back to normal the next day and I thought it was just bad gas. Another week or two went by and it happened again. As I was out, I had to wait several hours, and I was able to get home. The next morning, I was taking it to the dealer. The engine light was on, but it ran ok. I never made it out of my neighborhood. I called the dealership and explained the problem and needed it picked up. Here is where everything with this dealership went downhill fast. I was told it would be a week before they could come and get it. Seriously, a week with all the people I see sitting around when I show up. Then I was told it would be 2-3 weeks before they could get to it. Seriously, 3 -4 weeks before it's looked at and that's before work would start depending on warranty requests. Not acceptable considering at that time I had only had this Demo bike for 6 weeks. I showed up at the dealership and talked to Joe. I told him this seems to be a lemon and I shouldn't have to wait 3-4 weeks as a new customer. No bike should be having these problems out the gate. Well we know why don't we. They sold me a DEMO. I also told him that I had placed a trailer wiring harness on it because I was traveling out of town on a bike trip. I'll get to relevance of the wiring harness in a minute. He sent a guy to pick it up. I showed up two days later to see where we were with it and found they had not even done paperwork on it to work on it. It just sat in their yard. The next day I showed up (22 May) to check in and found they really had done nothing. They were writing the work statement as the trailer wiring harness as the problem. They did this without even seeing if that was the case. They gave Polaris a way out of warranty work and of course it was taken. I showed up the next day to see where we were, and they were waiting on Polaris. Needless, to say they did nothing to include removing the harness and see if it was fixed or still having problems. I came back in town 5 days later and showed up at the dealer and was told, that my bike was going in next to be worked on. This was a lie and I knew it. This is the time I spun up my lawyer on the Demo situation as I had had enough of the dishonesty. I showed up again 3 days later to find out they had done nothing at all. I was told they couldn't recreate the problem and there was nothing they could do. Why? Because they had not touched the bike since 22 May. I have a copy of their paperwork and that was the last entry on the paper for work done. You can't replicate a throttle problem if you never ride it, which they did not. The wiring harness has a vendor guarantee to not void the Polaris warranty. I checked under the seat and found that the trailer wiring harness was still intact and connected, which shows they never attempted to see if that was the problem, which it wasn't. They gave me the bike to take home. It broke down as predicted. Run away. Go to Coastal Indian in SC. read more

Baker American Cycles is a scam shop. While my wife was purchasing a motorcycle they promised multiple fixes to the used HD she was buying but failed to deliver. I have text messages that are proof that they were promising these fixes. When I went back to the dealership today they laughed in my face about how it wasn't in writing so they don't need to address the situation. After the sale, it was downhill from there. Too many things to list! Stay away! When I tried to trade in what they sold me for an upgrade, they wanted to scam me out of the bike by lowballing the trade. When I purchased the bike in question, I tacked on the $1100 service contract, I also tacked on a $1600 extended warranty contract I never needed because of a lie they told me to start. I also spent over $1500 in apparel on that day! When I wanted to upgrade 11 months later, they were lowballing an upgrade trade-in, I told the sales guy and the sales manager to contact me when a good used Roadmaster came in or even a demo. 3 weeks, no contact, I searched the used stock on their website, sure enough, a good used Roadmaster, no call. So I traded for a great deal and purchase in St. Petersburg FL, now I come back to get my add-on contracts refunded. Baker American STOLE $1100 from me by keeping the unused funds from my service contract, as a "non- cancelable contract". The extended warranty was refunded with a $160 cancellation fee. Auto dealers don't keep these funds, but BAKER AMERICAN does. Fine, I signed it, they can have it. I guess that's what people do when they are desperate to stay in business. CHOKE on it Baker, you won the battle, but with dealings like this, you will NOT win the war! I will do my best to stop anybody who asks my opinion, from EVER buying from you. read more
