Apparently, the owner of this business, named Max Miller, does not understand why I am angry with…read morehim, his manager (James Dudley) and his assistant manager (Ms. Wallace). I will now take the time to explain it, strictly to eliminate any confusion that Max may still suffer from. On July 3rd, 2026, while sitting in the waiting area of "Dunn Tire", waiting for "John" (1 of 2 mechanics) employed by Dunn Tire, to finish repairs on my 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD Duramax truck. I sat there talking to a woman that told me her husband had also served in the US Army Special Forces, as she recognized the "10th Special Forces Group" patch on my baseball hat. (I am a former and honorably retired Paratrooper, Special Forces and Delta Force combat veteran Operator / Sniper). Another customer walked in an sat down with his back against the wall. (Black male, about 70 years old). As the woman and I were talking, she made a comment to the black, 70 year old male, that I was thoroughly entertaining her. The 70 year black male, looked over at me and I said, "I am a trained professional" and was taught to be able to go anywhere and get along with anyone". The black male then asked, "what agency was that?" and I replied, "the Defense intelligence Agency". The black male seemed to become immediately upset by my comment and stood up, walking halfway across the room to say, "I don't want to bust your bubble but, I had a 33 year career in the Central Intelligence Agency-Special Operations". I replied, "you're full of (----). The black male then said, "all those countries you wanted to go to, I went to all of those countries". the black male then began to say offensive things regarding me, my military service and my character, to the room in general, walked over and said something about "airing out the room" to the manager, then walked by me and said, "I think you have a lot of bluster' and began to walk out of the room. As the black male was about to leave, I simply told him, "If you know so much, when you get home, call Ron Franklin and Jimmie Byars (two retired US Government employees) to see what their opinion of me was. During this entire exchange between the black male and I, the female assistant manager kept telling me and only me, to "stop John" and said nothing to anyone else. She was effectively allowing the black male to slander me in public, without taking control of the situation and telling the black male to sit down, or for us to go outside etc. The manager, James Dudley, also said nothing or did nothing whatsoever, to stop the black male from behaving this way. Meanwhile, the black female, was listening to everything being said and was obviously impacted by the comments as she acknowledged the manager and assistant manager, before leaving and would not even look at me. The reason for my anger is very simple; everything the black male said was an outright lie, and could be very damaging to my reputation, within the town I live in. In addition, no one I know that worked for the CIA within the specific department mentioned, had ever heard of this black male and would have based on the size of the department and the amount of time the black male claimed to work there. This is not the same as if I said that Max was (of his own admission) a former narcotics addict, or that the assistant manager, Andrea Wallace, (by her own admission) "must be an alcoholic, as they drink too much, every time they go to a bar" although the dissemination of these facts throughout the town may be embarrassing or hurtful to his or her families, it is not slander if it is the truth, especially by one's own admission. Max Miller, attempted to "smooth this entire event over" by saying that he had reviewed the surveillance camera footage and then by saying that Ms. Wallace had attempted to apologize to me, but I wouldn't accept it. The reason I wouldn't accept it was because the damage was done and by now had filtered out and into the town. In my opinion, there are only two reasons that Max Miller would've hired Ms. Wallace as the assistant manager, those being, either Max as a former narcotics addict, had sympathy for Ms. Wallace or had developed an emotional attachment to her, either being quite understandable given his background as a narcotics addict and vulnerabilities. In addition, what kind of business owner doesn't supply the necessary eye protection, for their mechanics to do their job? On the same day of the incident described above, I actually had to buy John (mechanic) a $40.00 set of light limiting and impact safe eye protection from the adjacent NAPA store and have the man at the counter, add it to my bill, so that John, could finish my truck. I will have nothing further to do with Dunn Tire, Max Miller, James Dudley or Andrea Wallace. Even Max Miller will understand, why. 1SG(R) John H. Osborn II SFQC 3-83 / OTC-18 910-308-3030

They took the time to clearly explain how inspections work here, which really helped since I'm new to the area. As they finished up, I mentioned noticing a leak in my truck. They immediately checked it out, diagnosed the issue, and walked me through the options. The pricing they gave me was very reasonable, clear, and honestly made sense for the work that needed to be done -- no hidden fees or confusing explanations. When I explained that I couldn't take care of it right away due to just buying a house with my wife and waiting on my next paycheck -- and that I'm active-duty military -- they didn't pressure me or dismiss the situation. Instead, they genuinely understood and offered a solution that honestly surprised me. They offered to fix the issue and set up a payment arrangement so I wouldn't be stuck without a working truck. As someone in the military, I don't look for handouts, and I'm usually the type to just tough it out and wait. But they understood the realities of my situation and treated me with respect, empathy, and professionalism. I truly appreciate how they handled everything. The fair pricing, honesty, and willingness to help made a stressful situation much easier. Because of that, I'll definitely continue bringing my truck here for future service. Highly recommended.
