I've only used this dealership for service on my vehicles, but every experience I've had has been excellent. The entire staff is consistently friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable, which makes the whole process smooth and stress-free. Today I used the shuttle service for the first time, and Frank from the drive team was wonderful. He was incredibly kind, welcoming, and had the best smile--it really made my day. I worked with some jackass named Brian. Brian tried undervaluing my trade in by almost 9 thousand dollars. I drove 4 hours to the dealership. I was assured that they would help me out and get me into their last 2025 model that's been sitting for 2 years. I have a 2015 Buick regal grand sport with 50,000 miles on it. It has a turbo and brenbo brakes. He told me he was concerned about my key fob... Brian are you retarded? You work at a Buick GMC, you can make a new FOB tubby. Brian also magically accidentally shorted me 4 thousand dollars in credit, I wonder where that extra money would have went. Right into his pockets. I would not recommend this trash ass place to anyone. They are snakes that want to line their pockets. They are not actual genuine sales people. My son has been dealing with Baker on his truck for a check engine light. Every time I go's in they can't actually find what's going on with it. Even though the code reads emissions code. They think they fix it and then it comes back on , they say it must be this problem and then fix it for this amount , then again the check engine light comes on after they say they fixed it. After they fixed it recently again I drove it another 45 miles and now the check engine light it's back on. I drive a lot of miles for work so it go's out of Warranty quick but been dealing with this since I bought the truck! I'm over it with them. This is ridiculous that they can't find and fix a problem or admit this truck has a problem. It's been in at least 3 times since November plus multiple times before that and costing me thousands of dollars and time and they still can't fix it. They just keep throwing parts at it and not working. Baker is the worst dealership in Michigan or the USA to deal with and I'm not the only one that thinks this. I will be blowing this up on social media with my friends and family help. If Baker GMC doesn't take care of this next step will be that I will call my Lawyer and GM. read more

We brought our 2017 Encore into the shop on 12/29 for a valve cover replacement and were told that wasn't the problem, and there was more wrong too. With 153K miles, I get it. I got a text telling me what was wrong, but no written estimate. Well, I'm a boomer and used to detailed information when it comes to an 8K bill. We decided that maybe a newer used car may be in order, so the shop sent us to the sales department, and I heard from a salesperson the next day. We came in on the 30th and found a car a year newer than ours with 1/2 the miles at a reasonable price. We found out that it had just been sold 5 minutes before we drove in. Hum. There was another Encore in the lot, and we were interested in that, but it cost more. Sadly, I had just used the old Encore as collateral for a personal loan, so there was an extra 5K lean on the car. I asked what the payments were for the car, and when the head manager, I think, told us about $360 a month. How much down can you put? Well, nothing, we were not expecting to buy a car right now. I had some money set aside for propane, so I said $500. Then he asked again, and I gave him all our propane money, so I have no idea how we are going to stay warm the rest of the winter. I kept telling them we could not afford this, but they didn't listen. All we had were 2 Social Security checks and a small pension. Then we met with the finance person, and he went through about 4 places to get us our loan. Then he said we had to have a warranty and tried to sell us a 10-year one. We said no, but he kept pushing us. We gave in and got a 3-year warranty. We have never used a warranty on a car. By this time, it was about 6:30 pm., and he pushed the papers at us and said, "Sign here." Because of adding the warranty, we have no idea how much our payments are or who they are going through. According to my paperwork, I guess it's about $464 a month. I keep looking for an email. Then, on the way home, it was snowing, and the driver's side wiper blade just fell apart. Happy New Year. I had to go buy another one. I called on Friday morning, just after they opened, and said that we couldn't afford this car. We needed to return it. I was told it was too late because all the paperwork had already been submitted. I thought this was a lame excuse due to how many things are done on a computer. If you can do it, you can undo it too. Then he mentioned that now my old car's transmission was slipping. What? Why wasn't this on an estimate!! Right now I feel terrible. How could I let these people not listen to me? We have bought 2 other cars at Betten Baker in Coopersville and had good luck. I thought the dealership's integrity would go through all of the Betten Bakers. I guess not. As a Senior Citizen whose husband is on disability, I felt like I got taken advantage of. Should have read the other reviews; I am not the first Senior to be taken advantage of. So, thank you, Hudsonville Betten Baker, for basically bankrupting me and not working with me on finding a car that fits my budget and needs. I feel so used. They did not have our best interests or the customer's needs in mind. I have no idea how I am going to afford to pay the bills or food right now. We may have to just live in the car. Brought my 2019 Silverado with 42,000 miles on it due to some traction control lights. Was first quoted around $500 to have wires fixed. Then called later and was told they found more wires that needed replaced and it would be roughly $130 more. I say sure no problem. Go to pick up the truck the next day and it's not fixed. A few days later the determine it's the TCM. Another roughly $550 for repairs. Go back to pickup the truck guess what still not fixed. After being left at the dealership for the second time as my ride had left. They offer a free rental. Some days later (they had my truck for roughly 3 weeks) I had a rental for one. They then want another $2300 to replace a wire harness. I asked what was wrong with the harness and the reply was that's what the engineer said. The same reply I got about the TCM. So the guy on the phone or computer says so. My big win in all of this was and I quote " Because the things we did had not fixed the issue, my tech was willing to do the ecm harness at half cost and has not charged anything to look again. Also, I will not be charging you rental fees and paying those myself out of pocket" So I didn't charge you another diagnostic fee for the issue we didn't fix. And the free rental they openly offered after they failed multiple times. Thanks Baker family. read more

I was an employee at the time I leased a vehicle from them. After signing and going over all my paperwork I noticed a major issue with all the numbers. MSRP on vehicle is $88,655 and they submitted to GM Financial $91,555. GM Employee discount is $80,472.22 they charged me $83,821.21. They told GM Financial that I added $5,194.22 in accessories which included carpet bedliner, DVD headrest, hard tonneau cover and wheel kit. When in reality I never added any of those. All I did was transfer my rims off my 2023. I spoked to Chris Baker and he told me to deal with Bob Dunkleburger. Weeks of back and forth with them both Bob tells me "He is waiting for stuff from GM Financial" I asked what adn ghost mode. Then finally he tells me "turn it in at the end of the lease. That GM will come after us or we will pay the difference in residual value. You will not be in the hook for the difference. The only issue would be the residual value nothing to do with what your truck is worth. So if your not turning the lease in then there is nothing we are going to do. The sh*t was done was to increase residual value so your payment would be less" That is his excuse as to why they did what they did. I would read all your paperwork and call the lease company and ask for all paperwork and verify you were charged correctly and this hasn't happen to you. GM Financial is currently working with me to correct the issue and GM Employee discount program is too as why I was charged over GM Employee pricing. I traded my 2023 in and had equity in the trade. read more

I made a deal to turn in my dad's lease with only 7,289 miles. A great deal for them, but at least my dad would not have to complete the lease. On Monday I brought the suv in to wrap up the deal and the manager changed the deal and wanted a $1,000 plus the car. When I confronted him, he turned his back on me and walked away. He was a total jack ass and he should never work in car sales or anything customer service related. He sales crew were very obviously embarrassed by how he treated me and gave me some good alternatives to getting rid of the car. read more
