Lovely venue for a special event! The building is a historical landmark, has a lot of industrial charm, exposed beams and beautiful brick walls. There is indoor / outdoor space for guests and it felt very spacious and inviting when we were there recently. We had our wedding reception here and IT WAS AH-MAZE-ING! The venue is catered by Gilmore Collection and the food was absolutely perfect. Throughout the entire planning process the staff was extremely accommodating and really did everything they could to make the party special. I honestly don't think I can say enough about Baker, it was so hard to find a venue that was up to our standards and fit our budget. Baker worked very well with our DJ as well. It was so nice to show up to our reception and have everything taken care of. I seriously recommend Baker if you're looking for a venue for any event. If I could give higher than a five-star rating I really would. They were on point for everything. read more

I went to a wedding reception it was AH-MAZE-ING! It was clean and bright. I loved how you felt you where at somewhere high class. I loved how this was in Holland! I really enjoy the food! I love how most of the stuff was Gluten Free even the cupcakes yummy! Great place for a wedding!! read more

Terrible customer service. Do not book with this venue. Plenty of other affordable options out there that will strive to accommodate. All for supporting family owned businesses, but this one I cannot. Not willing to work with us on anything during this pandemic. Wanting more money to book later dates, won't give you your refund back if you try to cancel. The owner was very condescending on the phone. Avoid if all possible. read more

My husband and I booked with Baker events in 2019 for January 2021. Not only did this venue neglect to contact me about their inability to host our event but has denied any money over and above our deposit in return. ZERO services were rendered by Baker Events. They were not out any money on our behalf, ZERO food had been ordered, ZERO booze had been used, and ZERO staff had been scheduled. When approached with a 50/50 split on money returned, because we understand the trying times and wanted to see a fruitful outcome for both parties. I was greeted with an unwavering condescendence and a confidentiality agreement. Stating... we will not get even our deposit back without signing away our ability to express our dissatisfaction with them on any and all public forums. The refund of my deposit is NOT contingent on me signing this release per my original event contract, mind you this is the contract language that they are using to uphold the force majure clause to protect themselves. And you won't see a dime without it. They have deactivated the option to see or write a review on their Facebook because of the backlash they are receiving from their lack of professional courtesy to their clients. We would love to release them from liability, but it's going to take more than our deposit to restore the loss large numbers of couples, including myself, have felt with Baker Events high and dry approach. Take the stress out of wedding planning and DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM. You won't get what you paid for if you do. read more

Baker Lofts was the perfect venue for our 150 guest reception. Managers and servers very kind, flexible, knowledgable, and helpful. You must cater through Gilmore Catering if you use the venue, but the food they offered was great as well. We had a number of people express how it was the best wedding food they had ever had. Great variety in choices of food and beverage as well. The reception couldn't have gone better. We would recommend this venue for any reception or other party of a similar size. read more

I have to say, I think this is my first time ever leaving a company review, but I think it is my duty to help spread the word to other brides. So here is my essay..... I would absolutely never EVER recommend Baker Events (Baker Lofts) in Holland, MI!!! Not even to my worst enemy. They are the most uncaring and uncooperative management to work with (with the exception of Gilmore Catering, which is under different management). They do NOT care about making your day special. It comes down to the money they get in their pocket. It's been extremely disheartening. Baker Lofts was my dream place to get married, and now when I think about the venue, I get sick to my stomach. My fiancé and I signed with them all the way back in 2018 for a date of May 2020. Of course as you know, COVID hit right before that, so we were unable to go through with our original date. At that time, I tried to receive a partial refund or just some kind of refund at all, which I believe was completely fair (we are both losing here, so let's work together somehow). However, they would not allow that, so I worked with them (since they weren't willing to work with me), and we chose a new date of March 2021. Here's the kicker - We wanted to do it later in the summer of 2020, but they were already giving away dates to other brides, which at the end of the day, I understand, but don't you think we would get first pick, since we signed with them so long ago? I don't know... just sucked all around. I just had to really try and understand. THEN, I did not really want a March wedding, BUT they told me that if I decided to have a May 2021 date or any date after, I WOULD HAVE TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE OF THE NEW 2021 RATE!!!!!! I literally could not believe they had the audacity to even suggest that, but here I am again, being the one that works with them, so I didn't even argue with it, and just went ahead and picked a date prior to May... I just was in such shock from this crazy pandemic and having to postpone that I really was just not in the right mindset. THEN! (ha) once March 2021 was approaching, we of course realized that that date was not going to be possible either. So here we are, having to postpone TWICE now, and they were still not working with us (my idea of possibly doing a partial refund or just some type of refund), but "they had plenty of Monday and Thursday dates open". Yup, you heard that right... so my fiancé brought up the fact that this is the SECOND time they could not provide us the service for our guaranteed guess count, which is written right in the contract that we ALL signed and agreed upon. The owner told us that "it doesn't matter to them whether we have 1 guest or 300 guests, and that maybe we should go find our local representative office and get them to get the governor to open things back up" !!!! Also, I think it is important to mention that we tried canceling for that March 2021 date shortly after we chose it, and they would not allow it. It is written clear as day in our contract that "Cancellation of Event: In the event of a cancellation, Baker Events will keep your non-refundable deposit if canceled 6months before the Event." So if I am reading it correctly, we should have at least gotten our $3,000.00 back. However, I wasn't even "fighting" for our $3,000.00 back, I was just hoping for something..... And I stated this in our email correspondence, and that was the last email - I never heard a word back still to this day! Pretty ironic, eh? I know a lot of vendors had to change their contract around after this pandemic, which I think is 1000% understandable, but what about us WAY Pre-COVID brides???? I just still can't believe it. This whole situation with them makes me so sad and so disheartened. They just really don't care whatsoever about our special day. So here I am, making sure I spread the word in any way possible. I am on a number of bridal sites and doing my part to to help other fellow brides steer away from this company. Also, do you notice that they only respond to negative reviews? Pretty interesting.... We just had a wedding reception for our daughter and son-in-law at Baker Lofts. They are great to work with in the pre-planning stages making the event itself very enjoyable. Everything met our expectations. The place is beautiful with the lighting at night. The food was delicious, plentiful and artistically displayed on the buffet. The serving staff worked efficiently and professionally. There were no surprises for us. read more
