Headed out to the track - workers seemed nice and friendly. There were about 10 cars ready to drive around. Once the GoKarts were let loose, it was very clear that two kids were driving recklessly and dangerously. One girl - probably about 8 yo - crashed so violently that her shoe flew off onto the track. The employees allowed her to continue driving putting others in danger. She crashed at least twice more - and I'm not talking about bumping into the rails or accidentally clipping the bumper of the car in front of her. When you have a track full of customers, their safety must be a priority.

So we purchased some meat, cheese and a whole pickle and made our way to the first demonstration being offered which was wooden shoe dancing. It was cute. 8 young people dancing traditional Dutch dances and "accidentally" kicking off their shoes. Next was a delft painting demonstration which was interesting although the young lady read so quickly from a script that it was difficult to follow and hear. Next was Jon who told us about and showed us wood shoe carving. He was a nice man who was very informative and when the demonstration was over even answered some of our questions about recommendations for dinner options. Next was a cheese making demonstration and then a visit to the gift shops. It was a fun place, a bit gimmicky and definitely geared toward children but not a bad way to spend a couple hours. We were a bit bummed that we missed the making of stroopwafel class, nothing was shown on our paper and we didn't know about it until we went into the stroopwafel store and they were just finishing. I got myself a cookbook and my husband got himself a few things. A nice bonus was with our receipt we recieved a deal for a buy 1 cookie at the Starbucks inside the store and you got a cookie free. My husband got a reese cookie and I got a sugar cookie. I do tend to gravitate towards independent bookstores but Barnes and Noble is a dependable chain that always seems to have what you need while also being in basically every larger city. The staff is friendly at this location and were helpful to point both my husband and I in the direction of what we wanted. I'm so happy that I got to stop in. I swear I could live at any bookstore.
