If you special order a cake, just make sure to check it before you leave. I requested a simple birthday message on the cake - not only did it look sloppy, they spelled the person's name wrong (the name was Chris). The person at the register did show it to me before I paid, and he did offer to "get someone" when I pointed out the error. Unfortunately I was on the way to my event, so I didn't have time to talk to someone else. I emailed management to advise of the problem and request that they implement some sort of checks and balances with the cake personalization. To date, no one has responded. All in all, not the hugest deal...but the lack of customer service is what's really sticking with me. The cakes are definitely delicious, but at prices higher than Publix I would expect proper order fulfillment and some customer service.

We stopped in for brunch and were pleasantly surprised by the quaint, quiet café vibe. At the entrance, there is a bakery and bistro offering a wide array of sweets and espresso/coffee items, while the back features café-style seating We were seated quickly and offered beverages as soon as we sat down. While waiting for our food, our host checked on us a few times to refill our drinks, despite a slight delay with our order I ordered a Turkey Club that had a reasonable amount of meat and plenty of toppings, making the sandwich very filling The family chose the Chicken Salad sandwich with a fresh fruit cup, the Patty Melt with fries, and the Grilled Tuscan Chicken wrap with chips. All the plates had a deli-style presentation, offering a fresh twist on traditional meals Overall, for a local mom-and-pop café, the brunch food was reasonable. I'll need to return for breakfast to assess the full lineup

My review from years ago still stands. Anytime I'm in the Sumter area and this bakery is open it's a must. Service is always friendly and their baked goods are delicious.

First time at Baker's and wow! I ordered a veggie omelette and was floored at the size and flavor. Kudos to their chef--probably one of the best omelettes I've ever had!!! Did I mention the creamy grits...another winner.

Great service and food with plenty of desserts! You can see and taste the quality in everything you order.

Good breakfast. Seated six of us quickly. Coffee bar is a good idea but they need to stay on top of it. Often no cups and or carafes empty. The hashbrowns were cubed potatoes not shreaded. Pancakes and bacon were cooked perfectly. Friendly staff and fair prices. Six people $74 +tip.

We stopped here on the way back from vacation, and what a find!! You walk in, and there is a display case full of amazing looking cakes, cookies, muffins, brownies, cannolis, etc . You can go right to the counter to order or sit at a table and order. They have soup, sandwiches, burgers, and salads to pick from. On top of all this, they have a full coffee bar! Our waitress was fantastic and helped me choose since everything sounded so good. I had the turkey avocado sandwich with sweet potato fries, and he had the club sandwich with fries. Good portion sizes and sandwiches are loaded. We naturally had dessert as well because it was impossible to look and not pick anything, and the prices were all reasonable! Right around $5 for a slice of cake and 3.50 for the frosted brownies, all generous sizes. Everything was delicious, the staff was friendly and helpful, the restaurant was clean and neat. There are 2 other locations as well, one in downtown Sumter, not far from this location. Will 100% be back when we are out this way again.

When we walked in there was a slightly long wait but it was worth it we had very fast service and everyone loved what they ordered. The sweets at the front looked amazing definitely will be coming back.

Love that they're family friendly. Great deli options! Food was delicious and customer service was great. Truffle fries are a must. Get a side of ranch and buffalo sauce. Dunked everything in it. I'm a sauce girly. We enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back.

Will definitely revisit! Adequate size bistro with 3 high top tables and 10 low tops inside. There are two entrances to assist those who call in their order. You can pick-up called in orders at the side entrance. Very convenient design. The inside has a huge dessert window and coffee station which greets you upon entering from the front. The menu is filled with flavorful items and my customized choice of a veggie sub with chicken added reached me with color and warm perfection. It will make me ask other restaurants to duplicate their version, it was so good. The 6 bite cup of broccoli salad was also a hit. It was served with golden raisins to make for a sweet treat. I was not a fan of the Oreo brownie as the cake (or brownie) was hard. It were as if it was 3 days old at first bite. However, my friend's huge slice of coconut cake was a hit so much that it was a fight with the devil from getting a second slice. Breakfast is not served all fat but the shrimp & grits is on the lunch menu which I'll have to try another time. Staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, patient and offered variety of options. This location is great for a meal and conversation. But try the down town location if you have a small sweet tooth and want some local entertainment (NOTE: mostly bar stools and high bar seating.)i ok

    Waiting for their food!

The food is good, the only downside is it is a bit pricey. I had the turkey avocado burger and it was excellent.

Snotty young girls may or may not serve you. Simple doughnuts three or four dollars a piece. Stale coffee.

My wife and I pass Baker suites all the time. We thought we would try and try it out for breakfast…read more There are a few things of serious concern here. One is an interesting disclaimer on the top of their menus that indicates basically that however your meal is delivered is how you have to live with it. As an example, I ordered the breakfast salmon toast meal and I was very explicit that I wanted my toast Well done. The waitress assured me it will be well toasted. It was not. It was barely warm bread. Extremely disappointing. I brought it to their attention after eating half and requested a single slice of well-toasted bread. They came back and told me I'd have to buy a side order toast. That's probably enough to make us never go there again and never recommend it. It's a stupid policy that is going to lose customers. My wife ordered the egg stuffed avocado. Interesting concept that we'll do at home. However, here it failed. The avocado had very bad spots on the ends that were not cut off and it was supposed to come with tomatoes which were not included. And lettuce was wilting. The concepts of the meals were interesting but very poorly executed. And the corporate policy of not willing to make it right puts the pin in a very bad review from me who never puts in a review unless it's extremely good.

Not worth your time for bad service and mediocre food. I tried Bakers Sweets twice within 6 months…read morejust to see if things are better but they seem to get worst. My first experience, I went for lunch. 5 different people with me so we had different entrees. All of the meals were BLAND. Taste like all the food was rushed and just warmed from a can. My shrimp and grits taste like grits with raw milk and shrimp randomly thrown in it...AWFUL. I was empty in the restaurant but the service was awful. We waited a long time 1 hour and the kid waiter got our order wrong. There are alot of teenage kids working there, and when you have kids as your staff you get kiddy bad service. Go somewhere else. 6 months later I tried again but just some pastries and sweets. The sweets taste again like a teenager made them, mushy, wet pastries lacking alot. I paid for a large coffee and it tasted like coffee beans with raw sugar. Yuck, I tried to politely tell the manager but he didn't respond he wanted me to pay for bad coffee and pastries even when I showed him the issue. My family, church and company don't go there any more. No response for this write up needed form this place because it would be fake. Go to the national competitor down the street. Good concept but bad management too!!
