I haven't written a yelp review in a while but I truly feel this place deserves it. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and quickly seated (it was extremely busy). Our waiter, William, was there right when we sat down. He was very welcoming and attentive and made us laugh every chance he got! They had indoor and outdoor seating--both of which were stunning! We chose to sit inside. The food was amazing! William gave us some recommendations and we ended up getting the fresh guacamole (which tasted absolutely amazing!) We also got fish, shrimp, and veggie tacos--all of which were absolutely amazing! They are served on a large platter that is presented beautifully. The prices aren't bad either. The next time I go I'll definitely try more! Nothing is better than a delicious meal served by amazing staff. That's something that's difficult to find these days and I really appreciated the fact that the waitstaff was so attentive, informative and funny, all while being super busy. If you're looking for somewhere cool, delicious, and near everything going on in downtown, this spot is perfect! Would definitely recommend it to everyone! We stumbled upon this gem to get some food and boy did we make a great choice! This place is usually super busy but we got there just in time for a booth to fit the 4 of us. The service was good for how busy it seemed and the food was excellent we got a little bit of everything and shared the queso and trio. We all got our own tacos and they were perfect portions. I just wish they us a nacho entree or appetizer but the loaded queso is so good it kinda made me forget how badly I wanted nachos. I will be back to try more! read more

Glad they're open during these tough times. We were able to get a reservation same day. However, everything else from the food to the drinks were all falling flat. I ordered my friend the pollo diablo tacos from here on Cinco de Mayo. Although they were pretty small in size, they were packed with flavor. The restaurant was very busy but the ambiance was nice and the service was good. Tip: Order 1-2 more tacos if you typically eat bigger sized tacos. read more

This place is awesome! Came here for my birthday dinner (Wednesday night) with a group of about 20 coworkers, and we all had a great time. Most of us were able to sit together in one large booth, but the remaining four or five people were able to grab a nearby table. The inside of the restaurant is gorgeous - very open design, lots of seating, and an overall inviting atmosphere. Onto the food! We all ordered chips, salsa, guacamole, and one order of queso. Everything was quite delicious, but my favorite sauce had to be the one inside the bottle - spicy, yet still flavorful. Single-handedly, my favorite thing on menu was my drink: the pineapple margarita. I would come back here just for this this! It was extremely refreshing without tasting too alcoholic, plus it's so aesthetically pleasing. My colleagues ordered virgin margaritas, and they had nothing but good things to say about those as well. I was happy to see that the tacos were very reasonably priced, and I ordered one short rib taco, which was delicious! Definitely not the authentic Mexican tacos that you can get back in California, but great nonetheless. Service was completely and utterly outstanding. Our server was able to split all of our checks up and he was able to keep a smile on his face - a feat that many restaurants cannot match. Dropped into Bakersfield with a party of 5 at 3:55pm- they sat us even though the restaurant didn't open until 4pm- very nice introduction. We loved everything we had- from the tortilla chips to the margaritas to the tacos- all delicious. The guac was chunky and that was a bonus- some of the best guac I've had in a restaurant (and I live in California, home to the avocado!)! The highlight though? Our server Scott. Some of the best tacos in Detroit. Only reason it's not 5 star is the short rib tacos are hit or miss and so is the loaded queso. Some days the rib is moist and very tender other times it's hard and crusted and cold. Last time we were there we found a hair cooked right into the chips that came with the queso, but we have never had that issue any other time. read more

You want tacos, now this is one of the best places I've have been to besides places in Mexican town. Also I've never had a margarita and it made me super buzzed without even finishing it. They have select happy hour specials on a board by the bar or you can always ask your server. I've had many tacos in my life but this place was amazing. Cool new spot downtown, right by the new LCA. You could easily walk to an event from this restaurant. Big bar and plenty of seating-outdoor options too. Drinks were great, I got a pineapple margarita that was delish! I really like that they have pitchers of margaritas for a larger group. We had guac, salsa and chips to start. The salsa was great but the guac had too much lime. Not sure if this is how they make it or we just got a bad batch. The tacos are definitely on the smaller side. If you are really hungry you would need at least 3-4 tacos. They do not come with any sides-everything is separate. I would like to go back again and try something new. Next the guacamole is fresh every 2 hours and you can tell they care about their food starting right here. BUT don't worry they show this through ALL their food and drinks. We decided to get tacos. Great downtown vibe atmosphere and the tacos are delicious! The bar is a round bar that takes up majority of the main floor with tables surrounding it on the outskirts of the restaurant. I love sitting in tbe outside patio in the summer. read more

Took my friend from out of town here and she wanted to go back again the next day! The tacos and guacamole are always super flavorful and fresh. The margaritas are made just right! Food and drinks are well Priced given the quality. They have outdoor seating as well as socially distanced indoor seating (feels outdoor because they can open up the windows). Street parking is usually pretty easy to find, but gets a bit more challenging on the weekend. This is by far one of the best places in Midtown! read more

Just finished eating here with a party of 4 on a Sunday evening. We ordered a queso and a variety of tacos. The food was all good to very good. We had a couple cocktails and those were very good also. Our bigger concern was with the service. First, we were told that we had to leave by a certain time because another party with a reservation was coming. We were there during March madness so I understand on some level., but we had about an hour to spare and weren't planning to stay later so it seemed very off putting. Once our server told us that, it felt like we were actively avoided - very slow having our orders taken, hard to get water refills and so on. When our food came, one person had their whole order delayed about 10 minutes as I guess it was not entered correctly. I will also note that the restaurant has large windows on one side and we were there on a sunny day which made it hard to see without wearing sunglasses. read more

Variety of tacos- shrimp ok, fish ok, chicken ok, beef short rib fantastic both in taco and tostada form (recommend the squeeze of fresh lime juice), and cochinta (braised pork) pretty good. Ordering single tacos adds up pretty quick but that's price of Gentrified Detroit. Sever was a let down, never smiled, annoyed that we didn't want to sit in the hot, direct sunlight, sucks that I'm expected to tip 15-20% to a b!tch. Wish I was a server in these times! I went to Bakersfield before a Piston's game and had an awesome experience. My friend and I parked at the Fox garage and walked, so that was already a huge plus. There was a 45 minute wait when we called on Friday night around dinner time, so normal expectations were met on a Friday night for dinner time... and we completely lucked out. We got two seats right at the corner of the bar and had impeccable service. The bartenders were all extremely attentive and my friend ordered a house margarita which ran about $8 and we started off with the chips and guacamole. The guacamole was fantastic and came with huge chucks of avocado; super fresh and delicious. I ordered the Al Pastor and Pollo Rojo tacos. Both were fantastic and they accommodated my dairy sensitivity perfectly. My friend also ordered two tacos and had two shots that ran him $3 each. The bartender informed us they offer a $3 shot each night. So for a margarita, guacamole and chips, four tacos and two shots, the bill ran us under $40 (before tip of course).
